Lesestrategiar på mellomtrinnet. Ein pedagogisk designstudie av fagtekstlesing i norskfaget
Get PDFFøremålet med studien skildra i denne masteroppgåva er å utvide kunnskapsgrunnlaget for bruk av eksplisitte lesestrategiar i norskfaget. Problemstillinga for studien er: Korleis arbeider ein lærar på mellomtrinnet med lesestrategiar i klasserommet når elevane les fagtekstar i norskfaget? På mellomtrinnet har mange elevar vanskar med å bruke lesing som eit reiskap for læring. Læreplanen og forsking slår fast at arbeid med lesestrategiar er sentralt for å utvikle elevane sine leseferdigheiter. Trass dette, viser forsking at eksplisitt strategiundervising førekjem i mindre grad i klasserommet. Det vil dermed vere sentralt å studere nærare korleis ein lærar kan legge til rette for arbeid med eksplisitt strategiundervising slik at elevane får utvikle seg som lesarar.
Denne studien har eit kvalitativ forskingsdesign og er i stor grad inspirert av metoden pedagogisk designforsking. Informanten for studien er ein lærar i ei 5. klasse i faget norsk. I samarbeid med læraren utarbeida vi eit undervisingopplegg på bakgrunn av teori og forsking innanfor lesing og eksplisitt strategiundervising. Læraren gjennomførte undervisinga i klassen sin medan eg som forskar observerte. I etterkant deltok læraren i eit semistrukturert intervju.
Funna i studien viser at læraren varierer måten han arbeider med lesestrategiar på, samtidig som han modellerer lesestrategiane for elevane i delar av undervisinga. Han forklarer korleis lesestrategiane skal brukast når dei les fagteksten. Elevane får arbeide med lesestrategiar både i samarbeid og i fellesskap. Under førlesefasen og i lesefasen forklarer han vanskelege fagomgrep og bruker elevane sine bakgrunnskunnskapar ofte. Funna syner også at føremålet med bruk av lesestrategiane i liten grad blir nemnt for elevane av læraren. Eit anna funn er at økta er for kort, noko som gjer at læraren ikkje får gjennomføre alt som var planen, og elevane står meir aleine om arbeidet på grunn av dårleg tid. Det viser at ein ikkje kan arbeide med for mange lesestrategiar på ein gong, men heller legge opp til fleire undervisingøkter om lesestrategiar.Abstract
The purpose of this master's thesis is to expand the knowledge base for using explicit reading strategies in the Norwegian subject. The research question for the study is: How does a teacher in upper primary level (ages 10-13) teach about reading strategies in the classroom when the pupils read academic texts in the Norwegian subject? In upper primary level (ages 10-13), many pupils have difficulty using reading as a learning tool. The curriculum and research establish that working with reading strategies is central to developing pupils reading skills. Despite this, research shows that working with explicit reading strategies instruction rarely happens in the classroom. It will thus be essential to study more closely how a teacher can teach about explicit reading strategies instruction so the pupils can develop their readings skills.
This study has a qualitative research design, and it is largely inspired by the method educational design research. The informant for the study is a teacher for a 5th grade in the subject Norwegian. In collaboration with the teacher, we developed a teaching plan based on theory and research in reading and explicit reading strategy instruction. The teacher conducted the teaching plan in his class while I observed. Afterwards, the teacher participated in a semi-structured interview.
Findings in the study show that the teacher varies the way he works with reading strategies, while also modelling the reading strategies for the pupils in parts of the teaching. He explains how the reading strategies will be used when they read the text. The pupils work with reading strategies in collaboratively and together with the whole class. During the pre-reading phase and in the reading phase, he explains complex words and uses the pupils background knowledge frequently. The finding also shows that the purpose of using reading strategies is rarely mentioned to the pupils by the teacher. Another finding shows that the plan for the session is too long, and as a result of that, the teacher can not do everything that was planned. The lack of time also results in the pupils receiving less help from the teacher. It shows that you can not work with too many reading strategies at once, but rather plan for additional teaching sessions about reading strategies
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
