The Use of English Punctuation in Improving Students’ Writing Skills at The Sixth Semester of Letters of UMI Makassar
No full textThe research entitled The use of English Punctuation in improving Students writing skills at the sixth semester of Faculty of Letters of UMI Makassar. This study aims to describe student`s error of using punctuation in English text. The study is conducted to students at the semester six of English Department. The researcher analyzed the error in the use of punctuation itself, because good punctuation is essential in clear and effective writing especially in academic writing. It was correlated to Jeremy’s theory (2004,p.49) stated that using punctuation correctly is one of the important skill in writing.. There are two problems of this study; how the students’ errors of using punctuation in English text are and what cause of error in using punctuation. The researcher used qualitative method in this study. Punctuation marks that are presented in this research are comma, full stop, hyphen, apostrophe, question mark, quotation mark, and exclamation mark. As a result, the researcher found that comma is most common error made by the English Department student during the sixth semester. In the data analysis, the writer described that the sixth Semester Students’ of the English Department have low achievement in using English Punctuation. The low achievement they have is primarily caused by their errors that are still made by students’ in using English Punctuation, they are also influenced by the following factors : 1. The students’ basic knowledge in using English punctuation is not sufficient, 2. The interest of the students’ in learning and doing the exercises of the use of English punctuation is low, and 3. The English punctuation is very complex and difficult to the students’.

No full textBackground: Mental retardation is a condition that requires special attention,
because children may experiencing limitations in functioning that interfere with
the normal adaptation to the environment. This is indicated by inadequate selfcare
behaviors, socialization with peers, communication and others. Social
support will increase the self care independence in mentally retarded children.
Objective: To analyze the relationship between social support in terms of the level
and satisfaction, with self-care independence in children with mental retardation
in SLB Negeri 1 Bantul.
Methods: Observational analytic study with cross sectional design, conducted in
February- April 2013 with the research subjects were 28 students selected in total
sampling. Screening used the Vineland Social Maturity Scale ( VSMS ).Data
retrieval collecion was done using Social Support Questionnaire and Guidelines
Obeservation for Self Care Independence . Data analysis using the Spearman
Rank .
Results: The level of social support as many as 75% of children with sufficient
levels of social support, 25% with a good level. Sources of social support as many
as 37.6% were from parent

upaya
mensosialisasikan ajaran Islam kepada masyarakat untuk meningkatkan derajat kesalehan perilaku individu dan kelompok, sehingga mampu menyelesaikan masalah yang ada di masyarakat. Pengelolaan Hutan Kemasyarakatan merupakan salah satu strategi pembangunan/pengelolaan lahan yang dapat mendukung ketersediaan pangan rumah tangga karena program ini memberikan peluang bagi masyarakat lokal untuk memanfaatkan lahan hutan lindung. Dengan adanya kegiatan pemanfaatan hutan kemasyarakatan dapat meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat khususnya di bidang perekonomian.
Gabungan Kelompok Tani (Gapoktan) Wana Jaya terbagi menjadi dua sub yaitu Kelompok Tani Hutan (KTH) I dan Kelompok Tani Hutan (KTH) II merupakan suatu wadah organisasi petani yang ada di desa Mekar Jaya Kecamatan gedung Surian Kabupaten Lampung Barat yang bergerak dibidang pengelolaan Hutan Kemasyarakatan (HKm). Kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh Gapoktan Wana Jaya berupa kegiatan pengelolaan wilayah Hutan Kemasyarakatan dengan cara menanami area hutan dengan berbagai jenis tanaman seperti kopi, lada, pisang, dan lain sebagainya.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses dan keberhasilan dari usaha yang dilakukan oleh Gapoktan Wana Jaya i dalam meningkatkan pendapatan ekonomi masyarakat. Di dalam kegiatan Gapoktan Wana Jaya terdapat beberapa proses dari awal diadakannya kegiatan pengelolaan HKm, mengurus surat izin hingga proses panen.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif , dengan mengambil latar di Gapoktan Wana Jaya yang berada di Desa Mekar Jaya. Subyek dari penelitian ini adalah Gabungan Kelompok Tani (Gapoktan) Wana Jaya terbagi menjadi dua sub yaitu Kelompok Tani Hutan (KTH) I dan Kelompok Tani Hutan (KTH) II dengan
menggunakan teknik Purposive Sampling sehingga terdapat kriteria
dalam
menentukan sampel. Metode pengumpulan data yang penulis gunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, interview dan dokumentasi. Metode deskriptif analisis digunakan untuk menghimpun data aktual.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dengan kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh Gapoktan Wana Jaya menghasilkan dampak terhadap peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat,. Akan tetapi hasil yang diperoleh oleh masyarakat tidak selalu mengalami peningkatan,
iiitidak jarang dari mereka mengalami penurunan dalam hasil panen sehingga sangat berpengaruh terhadap pendapatan ekonomi masyarakat.
Kata Kunci: Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Islam, Hutan Kemasyarakatan, Kelompok Tani, Peningkatan Pendapatan

EMPOWERMENT OF ISLAMIC COMMUNITY THROUGH THE UTILIZATION OF COMMUNITY FORESTS IN INCREASING ECONOMIC INCOME IN MEKAR JAYA VILLAGE, SURIAN
DISTRICT, WEST LAMPUNG REGENCY

Community empowerment is one of the efforts to provide power or strength for the community to be able to get out of the problems it faces. Empowerment of Islamic society is interpreted as an effort to socialize Islamic teachings to the community to increase the degree of piety of individual and group behavior, so as to be able to solve problems that exist in society. Community forest management is one of the development/land management strategies that can support household food availability because this program provides opportunities for local communities to take advantage of protected forest lands. The existence of community forest utilization activities can improve the standard of living of the community, especially in the economic sector.
The Wana Jaya Farmers Group Association (Gapoktan) is divided into two sub-groups, namely the Forest Farmers Group (KTH) I and the Forest Farmers Group (KTH) II. Community Forest Management (HKm). The activities carried out by the Wana Jaya Gapoktan are in the form of community forest area management activities by planting forest areas with various types of plants such as coffee, pepper, bananas, and so on.
This study aims to describe the process and success of the efforts made by Gapoktan Wana Jaya i in increasing people's economic income. In the activities of the Wana Jaya Gapoktan, there are several processes from the beginning of holding HKm management activities, taking care of permits until the harvest process.
This study uses a qualitative approach, taking the background in the Wana Jaya Gapoktan located in Mekar Jaya Village. The subject of this research is the Joint Farmers Group (Gapoktan) of Wana Jaya which is divided into two sub groups, namely the Forest Farmers Group (KTH) I and the Forest Farmers Group (KTH) II using thetechnique Purposive Sampling so that there are criteria in determining the sample. Data collection methods that the author uses in this study are observation, interviews and documentation. Descriptive analysis method was used to collect actual data.
Based on the results of research with activities carried out by the Wana Jaya Gapoktan, it has an impact on improving the community's economy. However, the results obtained by the community do not always increase, it is not uncommon for them to experience a decrease in crop yields so that it greatly affects the economic income of the community.

Novel is aliterary work in the form of prose describing human life, attitude, action, even representing history, ect. They are many kinds of novel that can be found in the work of literature. One of them is an autobiographical novel. It is the novel whose story is based on the author’s experiences.
To get the proof tha* autobiographical novel is a novel that written basedon the experience of the author, the reflection of F. Scott fitzgerald’s life in The Great Gatsby is chosen as the subject of the study.
The purposes of the study are: To describe what experiences Gatsby has in The Great Gatsby and To describe how does Gatsby’s experience reflects the author’s experiences.
This study uses autobiographical approach. It is representation of complex life experiences of complex life experiences, involve more than simply the “cognitive side” of wisdom, actions, emotions and cognitions.The data are taken from the original novel of F. Scott Fitzgerald The Great Gatsby that was published by Maxwell Macmillan International: New York, (1925). This book contains of 216 pages.
From the result of data analysis, it can be concluded that there are many Gatsby’s experiences that can be found in The Great Gatsby, they are his education, his joining the army, his being an educated man, his meeting with his partner of life, his extravagant living, his broken love, his being drunkard, his family’s class, his father job, and his hobby.
There are many Gatsby’s experiences that reflected of F. No full textIn the life of the general public, dyspepsia is often equated with heartburn, because there are similarities in symptoms between the two. This assumption is actually not quite right, because the word ulcer comes from Dutch, which means stomach, while the word dyspepsia comes from Greek, which consists of two words namely "dys" which means bad and "peptei" which means digestion. So dyspepsia means poor digestion. This type of research is descriptive correlational using cross sectional approach. This research was conducted in the working area of ​​the Biak Muli Health Center, Bambel District, Southeast Aceh Regency. in determining the sample the author uses accidental sampling technique that is taking samples that happen to come when researchers conduct data collection. During the research process, 31 samples were obtained. The results of the analysis of the results of data analysis using the chi-square test (x²) at a significance of 95% (α 0.05) with the help of SPSS, the Pearson chi-square sig value was obtained. is equal to p = 0.008. This test can be seen that the p value (0.008) obtained is smaller than α (0.05). then it can be seen that there is a relationship between eating patterns with the incidence of dyspepsia in the work area of ​​Biak Muli Health Center, Bambel District, Southeast Aceh Regency in 2019. For health services to prioritize health education programs for rural communities with material about eating patterns and dyspeptic events.
