    No full text
The current-voltage (I-V) and capacitance voltage (C-V) characteristics of Al/n-GaAs and Al/p-GaAs diodes on GaAs substrate treated by Ru3+ ions are investigated and compared with characteristics of GaAs diodes on GaAs untreated substrates. The diodes does not have to show an ideal behaviour of I-V characteristic with an ideality factor of 1.13 and barrier height of 0.85 eV and 0.6 eV for Al/n-GaAs and Al/p-GaAs diodes respectively. The forward bias saturation current found with a big value (10-10A, 10-12 A) in the Al/n-GaAs (untreated) Schottky diodes compared with Al/n-GaAs (treated) diodes. Contrary the forward bias saturation current found with a small value (10-7 A, 10-6 A) in the Al/p-GaAs (untreated) Schottky diodes compared with Al/p-GaAs (treated) diodes. The energy distribution of interface states was determined from the forward bias I(V) characteristics. The interface states density found large in the Al/GaAs (treated by Ru3+ ions) structure comparing with the Al/GaAs (untreated) structure

    No full text
Background: The altitudinal and geographical variability of the Aurès mountains of Algeria favored the existence of some endemic and rare varieties of medicinal plants. The aim of the present work is to determine the chemical composition, antimicrobial and antibiofilm properties of the essential oils (EOs) from aerial parts of four medicinal plants from Aurès region of Algeria; Juniperus thurifera L., Juniperus oxycedrus L., Salvia officinalis L. and Thymus ciliatus ssp. munbyanus (Boiss. & Reut.) Batt. on coagulase negative staphylococci (CoNS) isolates. Methodology: Extraction of EOs from the four plant materials was carried out by hydro-distillation, and the EO yield expressed in gram of the distillate per 100 grams of dry matter. The chemical composition of the EOs was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) method. In vitro antibacterial and antibiofilm activities of the EOs were evaluated against CoNS previously isolated at the Anti-Cancer Center of Batna, Algeria using the agar disc diffusion assay and biofilm inhibition study, respectively. Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bacterial concentration (MBC) of the EOs of S. officinalis L. and T. ciliatus ssp. munbyanus were determined by the dilution method. Results: Twenty-seven and 41 compounds rich in monoterpene hydrocarbons were identified from J. oxycedrus and J. thurifera plants respectively, while 45 and 32 compounds, constituted mainly by oxygenated mono- terpenes, were identified from S. officinalis L. and T. ciliatus ssp. munbyanus, respectively. The EOs of T. ciliatus ssp. munbyanus showed the most inhibitory activity of all the four plants on CoNS isolates (n=66) with mean inhibition zone diameter of 24.99±6.29mm, and mean MIC and MBC values of 2.65±3.77mg/ml and 5.31±7.41mg/ml respectively, followed by S. officinalis L., with mean inhibition zone diameter of 13.38± 6.52mm, and mean MIC and MBC values of 27.53±28.2 mg/ml and 31.97±33.19 mg/ml respectively (p<0.0001 by one-way ANOVA). Also, percentage biofilm inhibition of CoNS isolates (n=59) was high for EOs of T. ciliatus ssp. munbyanus (65.63±10.71%) and S. officinalis L. (53.13±5.83%), although was significantly higher for T. ciliatus ssp. munbyanus compared to S. officinalis L. (p<0.0001, t=7.874). Conclusion: Essential oils from T. ciliatus ssp. munbyanus and S. officinalis L. could represent an alternative to classical antibiotics against planktonic cells and biofilms of CoNS

    E-field extraction from H

This paper deals with a technique for calculating the 3D E-field components knowing only the two components (Hx and Hy) of the H-field in near-zone. The originality of the under study technique lies on the possibility to take into account the evanescent wave influences. The presented E-field extraction process is based on the exploitation of the Maxwell-Ampere relation combined with the plane wave spectrum (PWS) method. The efficiency of the proposed technique is evidenced by comparing the E-field deduced from H-field and the own E-field radiated by the association of electrical- and also magnetic- elementary dipoles in different configurations by using Matlab text programming environment. In addition, as a concrete demonstrator, the concept was also validated with the computation of EM-wave radiated by an open-end microstrip transmission line. As result of comparison, very good agreement between the exact E-field and that one extracted from the H-field was realized by considering the near-field scanned at the height, z = 5 mm and 8 mm above the under test structure at the operating frequency, f = 1 GHz. The presented technique can simplify the difficulties about the E-near-field measurement in EMC applications

This thesis aims to analyze the position of the actor was in her speech. The question is the subject and object's position, who is the narrator (subject), and who is told (object). Then the position of the listener, how the position of listener described in speech. The listener identifies which group and how the narrator presents a big agenda to convey to the reader. Therefore, in this study, the author will answer several research questions, such as (1) How is the position of Muniba Mazari based on Women Perspective in Sara Mills’ theory? (2) How is the listener’s position about Muniba Mazari based on Feminist Stylistics in Sara Mills’ theory?.This research uses qualitative methods, with Sara Mill's critical discourse analysis techniques and critical paradigms. This research aims to reveal the hidden meaning of the depiction of women in the perspective of feminism contained in Muniba Mazari's speech (2017). The data show that in Muniba Mazari's speech, she became the narrator and also the object of the story of her speech. She often uses the first-person sentence "I." In the sub-chapter object of the story, the author divides the object in Muniba Mazari's speech into two, the first being the Oppressed woman position. The second is the power of women's position. Whereas in the positioning the audience, 4 out of 7 respondents placed themselves in the position of a female figure

Tensile properties of compression socks play a vital role to exert the adequate radial pressure, directly linked to their work performance, and working life. These properties are deployed using various type of materials and machine adjustments. In this scientific research work, socks samples were commercially bought and cut to evaluate their physical, structural, tensile properties and theory of exertion of compression pressure. So, current research work is comprised of two parts. Part 1 presents a scientific tensile characterization of the sock's cut-strip hauled to analyze; force at practical extension compared to experimental pressure (Ps), comparison between tensile indices, experimental pressure (Ps) and force at practical extension. These tensile indices include; loading energy (W), unloading energy (W´), hysteresis (H), and tensile linearity (TL). Results showed that the force value at practical extension (FL) impart the significant influence to explain experimental pressure (Ps). It was also concluded that the tensile indices (W, W´, H, and TL) statistically shows significancy (R2- value = moderate-strong) to force at practical and experimental pressure. Part 2 is comprised of a theoretical investigation of compression pressure using the modelization technique and transformation of the Laplace's law. This technique helped to explore some unknown parameters especially, deformed width (wf), true stress (T)/ logarithmic strain (T)/true modulus (ET). Using these unknown parameters; Laplace's law was transformed to two new mathematical models; Model 1 (T.Y.M); based on true Young's modulus and Model 2 (E.Y.M); based on engineering Young's modulus and deformed width (wf). Furthermore, the results revealed that the transformed models; model 1 and model 2 and basic Laplace's law have well approximation to experimental pressure (Ps). Existing models were also compared to experimental pressure to analyze their efficacy. Newly transformed models were also statistically compared to original Laplace's law revealed that newly developed models have strong significant approximation to basic Laplace's law
