GUTI Reallocation Demystified: Cellular Location Tracking with Changing Temporary Identifier
To keep subscribers' identity confidential, a cellular network operator must use a temporary identifier instead of a permanent one according to the 3GPP standard. Temporary identifiers include Temporary Mobile Subscriber Identity (TMSI) and Globally Unique Temporary Identifier (GUTI) for GSM/3G and Long-Term Evolution (LTE) networks, respectively. Unfortunately, recent studies have shown that carriers fail to protect subscribers in both GSM/3G and LTE mainly because these identifiers have static and persistent values. These identifiers can be used to track subscribers' locations. These studies have suggested that temporary identifiers must be reallocated frequently to solve this privacy problem. The only mechanism to update the temporary identifier in current LTE implementations is called GUTI reallocation. We investigate whether the current implementation of the GUTI reallocation mechanism can provide enough security to protect subscribers' privacy.
To do this, we collect data by performing GUTI reallocation more than 30,000 times with 28 carriers across 11 countries using 78 SIM cards. Then, we investigate whether (1) these reallocated GUTIs in each carrier show noticeable patterns and (2) if they do, these patterns are consistent among different SIM cards within each carrier. Among 28 carriers, 19 carriers have easily predictable and consistent patterns in their GUTI reallocation mechanisms. Among the remaining 9 carriers, we revisit 4 carriers to investigate them in greater detail. For all these 4 carriers, we could find interesting yet predictable patterns after invoking GUTI reallocation multiple times within a short time period. By using this predictability, we show that an adversary can track subscribers' location as in previous studies. Finally, we present a lightweight and unpredictable GUTI reallocation mechanism as a solution

GUTI: a new antigen in the Cromer blood group system
BACKGROUND: The Cromer blood group system consists of seven high-incidence and three low-incidence antigens carried on decay-accelerating factor (DAF). This report describes the identification and characterization of a new Cromer high-incidence antigen, named GUTI.STUDY DESIGN AND METHODS: RT-PCR and sequence analysis were performed on cDNA prepared from a Chilean donor whose serum contained the alloantibody (anti-GUTI). Based on the observed point mutation, a PCR-RFLP assay using Maell was developed. To map the epitope, DAF-deletion mutants were tested by immunoblotting with anti-GUTI.RESULTS: Sequence analysis revealed a substitution of 719G>A in DAF in the proband. The proband's parents and two daughters were heterozygotes for 719G>A, one sister whose RBCs typed GUTI- was homozygous for 719A, and one sister had the wild-type DAF (719G). Seven additional heterozygote samples were identified among 214 Chileans. No heterozygotes were found in 197 New York donors. Analysis using DAF-deletion mutants showed the antigenic determinant to be within short consensus repeat (SCR) 4.CONCLUSION: This study describes a novel high-incidence antigen (GUTI) in the Cromer blood group system characterized by the amino acid arginine at position 206 in SCR4 of DAF. The GUTI-negative proband has a substitution mutation that predicts for histidine at this position.NHLBI NIH HHSNATIONAL HEART, LUNG, AND BLOOD INSTITUT
The role of prophecy in Zimbabwean socio-economic transformation: the case of Ezekiel Guti
Perhaps the most enduring legacy of the Old Testament prophets is in the area of economic engagement as Elisha’s ministry speaks volume. In Zimbabwe, Ezekiel Guti has championed. This paper focuses on the economic engagement of the prophet Ezekiel Guti in his bid to improve the lives of the underside of history and how this resonates with the prophetic vocation of Elisha. The paper, through canonical approach, typological comparative analysis, and literature review contends that the prophet Ezekiel Guti is a quintessence to demonstrate that the engagement of prophets in economic initiatives is vital in contemporary times. Keywords: prophet, socio-economic transformation, talent

Global Cities in Transition: New York and Madrid in the Films of Chus Gutiérrez
In her triple condition of emigrant, artist and woman, the work of Spanish filmmaker Chus Gutiérrez is a privileged and singular object of study. Through her filmography it is possible to approach the changes that have taken place in the cities on both sides of the Atlantic. Chus Gutiérrez resided in New York during the decade of the 1980s and returned to Madrid to witness the changes that this city was undergoing: from being the epicenter of a dictatorship to a democratic city. Her vision of both places is clearly reflected in two of her films: Sublet (1992) and El Calentito (2005). The protagonists profiled by Chus Gutiérrez in these films are young women who move through complex metropolitan spaces at a critical moment of their lives. Cities become another character, illustrating, pushing, or limiting their course; spaces in which the protagonists accept their differences and begin the search for their individual and collective identity
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
