    The reconstruction of the main landscape morphoevolutional modelling phases in the northeastern part of Mt. Bulgheria (Campania, southern Italy) between the villages of San-Giovanni-a-Piro and Scario, during the Quaternary is proposed on the basis of geological and geomorphological data and subsurface explorations. The structural attitude of the area, characterized by the tectonic superposition of carbonatic successions over mainly terrigenous series, governed the present morphological configuration. Steep slopes along the carbonatic front are bordered by gentler landforms at their foot where a flysch belt is present. Within this belt, filling type mechanisms, due to widespread debris/mud flow phenomena and subsequent cutting processes following the variation of the erosion base-level, caused surface drainage diversions and re-adaptations. A morphoevolutional model of the area using digital procedures has been developed on the basis of geomorphological analyses and the mapping of the main landform types. It has been possible to model a sequence (geomorphing) of 4 main morphoevolutional stages during Quaternary morphogenesis. This resulted from a sequence based on the progressive backward-filtering of landforms - from the youngest to the oldest. The lack of reliably dated elements in the studied area allowed only relative morphochronological reconstructions. It has how-ever been possible to ascribe the first morphogenetic sequences to the post-Emilian by correlating remnants of ancient morphologically mature landforms (which are the highest in elevation at present) with dated coastal landforms of nearby areas

    On the basis of detailed field investigations a geological map (1:25 000) has been drawn. Quaternary deposits, according to their age and genesis, are chiefly emphasised. By field surveys and aerial photograph analysis 55 active slope movements have been mapped. Landslide hazard is closely connected to the past slope evolution. High instability conditions (varying from 40% to 80%) in clayey-marly lithological complex results. Relatively lower instability (up to 40%) is found in the sandy-conglomerate suites and in the clastic sequences. -from English summar

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     On April 12, 1996, a complex system of landslides involved the left side of the Biferno River (Campobasso, Molise), in the Covatta area, interrupting the State Highway 647 and damming the Biferno River, forming a lake. Previous studies consisted of a geological survey and production of a geological map, as well as geomorphological analysis of the landslide of April 12, 1996. In the Covatta area, several mass movements (translational-rotational slides and lateral spreading), which become rapid earth-debris flows in their terminal regions, have been generated. Progressive sliding of secondary earthflows has divided the landslide of April 12, 1996, into many different subsystems, each of which is characterized by various lithological associations and different morphologies. Fig. 1 is a synthesis of this and shows both the geological situation and the typology of the landslide subsystems. A new substantial movement of the landslide occurred in the Spring of 1997, making the slopes smoother in the upper part and the soils more fluid in the central and lower parts. This work is a report on the study that has been developed on the morphoevolutive phases of the slope analyzed during the years before its final collapse and their relationship with the rainfall patterns. Examination of the slope's morphological stages in the period 1954-1997 and the analysis of the hydrological parameters has shown that the morphological features were mainly governed by a sequence of extraordinary climatic conditions. The heavy rainfalls and snowfalls in the Winter of 1986, for example, produced an acceleration of the slope's evolutive phenomena, whereas their deceleration in 1992 should be considered a consequence of the very low rainfalls of the previous three years. Actually, in the case of deep phenomena like that of April 12, 1996, it is very difficult to predict the time necessary to prepare the slope collapse; it is in any case considerable (at least several decades). On the other hand, most of the single, small phenomena are assumed to occur in a period of a few years, because of slight increases in the water surplus

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
