Kleino gramatikos Reikšminiai žodžiai: Akūtas; Gravis; Cirkumfleksas; Psalmynas; Lietuvių kalbos istorija; KirčiavimasThis article gives a brief overview of the history of the accent marks of languages from Antiquity linguist Aristophanes of Byzantium marked the acute accent, grave accent and circumflex accent until the sign similar to a tilde-shaped circumflex marked in Mažvydas’ Catechism, and accent signs of Baltramiejus Vilentas’ writings, Daniel Klein‘s grammer, and Jonas Rhesa’s Psalter of David. The article gives a comprehensive analysis of the accentuation made by Jonas Rhesa in the psalter, accent marks taken from Greek, and an accent mark developed by the author himself. The article also discusses the functions of the accent marks used in Rhesa’s psalter, the variation of the usage of accent marks and the interaction between the accentuation of the psalter and D. Klein’s grammer

No full textThis essay aims at clarifying the concept of Jonas’s heuristic of fear. Although it has been severely criticized, fear remains an aspect of his thought which has drawn little attention, particularly regarding the role it plays in the elaboration of the imperative of responsibility. Jonas elaborates a new concept of fear, moulded by the particular form of uncertainty brought about by the technological age. Although critics have interpreted Jonas’ attempt as an ethics founded on irrationality and emotion, the present analysis shows that Jonas affirms a cognitivist theory of fear. The concept of fear he discusses in The Imperative of Responsibility is not an emotion as an immediate physical and psychological reaction, but a form of evaluative thinking that is part of responsibility. In vitro measurement of bone-implant micromotion of tibial implants after total ankle replacement
No full textBackground: Total Ankle Replacement (TAR) o_ers the advantage of preserving ankle joint motion compared with ankle arthrodesis. However, compared to hip or knee arthroplasty, TAR is a less successful procedure when considering the relatively low implants survival rate at 10 years, the high revision rate and also numerous complications. The main complications after TAR are periprosthetic cysts (up to 77% of cases), fractures of the malleolus and bone loosening. However, the mechanism that leads to these complications remains unclear and the high incidence of periprosthetic cysts raises worries for long-term survivorship of the implants. Therefore, there is a need for better understanding of shortcomings associated with TAR, and for improvement in implant design and surgical technique. Goal: To determine, in vitro, the in_uence of mobile-bearing position on bone strain and primary stability after Total Ankle Replacement by measuring bone surface strain and bone-implant relative movement. The study was focused on tibial components. Methods: Prostheses from the company Tornier were implanted in 8 cadaveric tibiae by an experienced surgeon. A load of 2000 [N] was applied on the prosthesis at three di_erent positions: posterior, neutral and anterior. The displacement was measured on the anterior surface of the tibia using 3D Digital Image Correlation. The bone axial strain was then evaluated from the displacement. Results: Bone strain was higher when the mobile-bearing was placed in the anterior position compared with the neutral position (p 4000 microstrain). The bone-implant relative movements were in the same order of magnitude of in vivo measurements reported in the literature. In conclusion, we confirmed the importance of mobile-bearing position in TAR, which could be optimized during surgery.LB
A Pilot Study For Experimental Manipulations of Author Expertise and Quality of Evidence in Research Summaries
No full textIn previous studies, Rosman & Grösser (2024) demonstrated that the quality of evidence in short descriptions of scientific studies interacted with trust in science to influence belief updating and that the positive relationship between trust in science and subjective ratings of quality of evidence is higher for studies with high quality of evidence. Additionally, a recent study by Jonas and Rosman (2024) extended findings originally related to the scientificness effect (Bromme et al., 2015; Thomm & Bromme, 2012) to an author level and suggested that a higher author scientificness encourages higher ratings of author expertise, integrity and benevolence among laypeople.
Based on this research, a follow-up project aims to investigate main and interaction effects of the influence of author expertise and evidence quality on belief updating. The present pilot study will test new experimental materials for the manipulation of author expertise and evidence quality. To this end, an online experiment with a German general population sample recruited via a panel provider will be carried out. A 2*4 and a 3*4 between-subject ANOVA design will be employed to test for differences in laypeople’s evaluations of author scientificness and evidence quality. The analysis of the experimental results will enable inferences about the validity of the experimental manipulations and a possible revision of experimental materials.unknownothe
