Goals and directions for the development of Polish glottodidactics – a considerations for the end of 2023
Full text linkThe aim of this article is to examine the developmental trajectory that Polish glottodidactics has undergone since its inception as a sub-discipline within foreign language teaching. Cultural and geopolitical shifts, as well as the evolving research paradigms in linguistics, psychology, and pedagogy, have given rise to new and intriguing research areas that glottodidacticians have started to explore. Particular attention has been paid to the last three years of scientific development, during which events such as the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic and the war in Ukraine have initiated the formation of new goals and priorities among both educators and learners.Celem artykułu jest przyjrzenie się kierunkom rozwojowym, jakim glottodydaktyka polonistyczna podlegała od momentu wyodrębnienia się jako subdyscyplina dydaktyki języków obcych. Zmiany kulturowe i geopolityczne czy ewoluowanie koncepcji badawczych z zakresu językoznawstwa, psychologii czy pedagogiki poskutkowały pojawianiem się nowych interesujących obszarów badawczych, które glottodydaktycy zaczęli eksplorować. Ze szczególnym zainteresowaniem przeanalizowano ostatnie trzy lata rozwoju nauki, w trakcie których wybuch pandemii koronawirusa czy wojna w Ukrainie zainicjowały formowanie się nowych celów i priorytetów zarówno wśród lektorów, jak i samych uczących się

Walls and bridges — on the barriers in communication between law firms and the society
Full text linkIn the article, the author describes randomly chosen websites of law firms. Since, according to the Polish law, lawyers should not advertise their services, she analyzed whether these websites truly contained no advertising material. Additionally, the author examined the complexity of the language of such websites. She used modern software called Jasnopis, which determines text difficulty (fogginess) with the use of various parameters. The author noticed that the language of law firm websites did not meet the criteria for simple language and that it was also strongly persuasive. She proceeds to discuss the metalanguage in selected textbooks. She applies the genological perspective and treats the textbook as a type of text, analyzing its stylistic and cognitive elements.W artykule dokonano przeglądu definicji metajęzyka i metatekstu. Przyjęto, że jest to opis języka za pomocą tego języka. Następnie poddano analizie wybrane podręczniki pod kątem obecności wyrażeń metajęzykowych. No full textEkologia stanowi istotny element życia współczesnego człowieka, a kształtowanie postaw proekologicznych należy rozpoczynać już od najmłodszych lat życia. Z taką inicjatywą wychodzi między innymi czasopismo „Viktor Junior” (adresowane do dzieci w wieku 10-12 lat), które na swoich łamach wiele miejsca poświęca zagadnieniom przyrody, ochrony środowiska itp. W artykule analizie poddano wybrane artykuły dotyczące problematyki szeroko pojmowanej przyrody opublikowane w roku 2020. Przyjrzano się środkom językowym, za pomocą których dokonywane jest pozytywne wartościowanie zarówno postaw proekologicznych, jak i środowiska naturalnego. Badania pokazały, jak w prosty i nienachalny, odarty z patosu sposób można przekazywać wartości ekologiczne młodemu pokoleniu.
Ecology is an important element of modern human life, and shaping pro-ecological attitudes should start from an early age. Such an initiative comes from, among others, Viktor Junior magazine (addressed to children aged 10-12), which devotes a lot of space to the issues of nature, environmental protection, etc. The author of the article analyses selected articles (from 2020) on broadly understood nature. She shows the linguistic means by which a positive evaluation of pro-ecological attitudes and the natural environment is made. The research has shown how to pass ecological values to the young generation in a simple and non-intrusive way devoid of pathos

She reviews various stands on the blurry notion of negotiation and juxstaposes them with the theory of humor. Communicative competence and the genre – on online live broadcasts
No full textPowszechnie znane określenia to kompetencja komunikacyjna, pragmatyczna, socjolingwistyczna i to do nich odwołują się autorzy prac glottodydaktycznych. Zjawiskiem nieco marginalizowanym jest kompetencja tekstowa. W artykule podjęto próbę określenia wzajemnych relacji między wspomnianymi typami kompetencji, a także wskazano na konkretne zjawisko glottodydaktyczne związane z kompetencją tekstową, jakim jest przygotowanie studenta do percepcji/ produkcji określonego gatunku. Jako przykładowy gatunek wykorzystano internetową relację sportową na żywo.The terms communicative competence, pragmatic competence and sociolinguistic competence are widely known. The textual competence, on the other hand, is somewhat marginalized by the specialists. The author of the article attempts to define the relations between the aforementioned types of competence. She also points out to a process connected to the textual competence, which is the process of preparing a student to perceive/produce a certain genre. The online live sports coverage serves as an example of such a genre
