JOÃO GRILO, O DESMILINGÜIDO: A ESPERANÇA NO IMAGINÁRIO DO OPRIMIDO
The objective of this study is to discuss about the meanings that the João Grilo´s myth – largely spreaded out in the northeastern hinterland – assumes in the imaginary of the citizens/actors who, directly or indirectly, identify themselves with it, lasting throughout the times. To those that withholds the power and/or are wealthy, the myth – when denounce its vices – represents a threat, calling the attention to the subversion of the order. However, to those, because of physical features and the condition of misery and slavery, identify with the myth, João Grilo represents the hope of better days. Although a cheat, the personage´s moral does not totally lose the brightness and the dignity because, when he does not take the power and the wealth of the defeated opponents, João Grilo neither reproduce nor perpetuates the system of which he is a victim. Therefore, João Grilo, differently from the strict person and the chaotic cangaceiros, is not an extremist, placing himself in an intermediate position in the heroes roll that are present in the folklore-cultural imaginary of the Brazilians.

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods

Abstract
An estimation of damages caused by crickets, Anurogryllus muticus (D6e G eer), (Orthoptera, Gryllidae), in black bean fields, located at São Sepé, RS, was carried out during the 1980/81 growing season. During 1979/80 and 1980/81 his behavior was studied. The observations about damages were done inside nylon cages measuring 1,5 m x 1,5 m x 0,80m containing 16 hills with 3 plants each with a insect. It was observed that the average cutting time was 17 days but can uary according plant conditions height, tissue 1ignification and appearance of the first leaflets. The average number of plants damaged was 22 per cricket
Urban Public Facility Location, Multipurpose Trips and Spatial Competition: equilibrium and welfare analysis
We study the impact of the urban location of one single public facility on spatial competition ` la Hotelling. If transportation costs are very low compared to the value of the public service then both firms tacitly choose the facility location without moderation of price competition, in contrast to mainstream results in the literature. In this event, minimum differentiation is efficient. For intermediate values of the relative transportation rate, inefficient partially-dispersed equilibria emerge with one firm at the facility site while its competitor locates at one end of the linear city. We also analyze the welfare impacts of changes, successively, in the facility location and the transportation rate, taking into account firms relocations.public facility, multipurpose trip, full agglomeration, partial dispersion, optimal location
