THE MICROWAVE SPECTRUM OF AlO
Author Institution: Institute for Molecular Science; Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of TechnologyThe rotational spectrum of the AlO radical was observed in millimeter and sub-millimeter wave region. The AlO radical was generated by the reaction of N2O and Al vapor in a flow reactor cell. The rotational constant, spin-rotation interaction constant, centrifugal distortion constant, as well as hyperfine interaction constants were determined
Improved tunneling magnetoresistance in (Ga,Mn)As/AlO(x)/CoFeB magnetic tunnel junctions
We fabricated (Ga,Mn)As/AlO(x)/Co(40)Fe(40)B(20) magnetic tunnel junctions with ferromagnetic semiconductor/insulator/ferromagnetic metal (S/I/F) structure. The treatments of pre-annealing and post-plasma cleaning on the (Ga,Mn) As film were introduced before the growth of the subsequent layers. A high tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) ratio of 101% is achieved at 2 K, and the spin polarization of (Ga,Mn) As, P = 56.8%, is deduced from Julliere's formula. The improved TMR ratio is primarily due to the improved magnetism of (Ga,Mn) As layer by low-temperature annealing and cleaned interface between (Ga,Mn) As and AlO(x) attained by subsequent plasma cleaning process. Rotational relaxation of AlO+(1Σ+) in collision with He
The rate coefficients for the rotational de-excitation of AlO+ by collisions with He are determined. The possible production mechanisms of the AlO+ ion in both diffuse and dense molecular clouds are first discussed. A set of ab initio interaction energies is computed at the CCSD(T)-F12 level of theory, and a three-dimensional analytical model of the potential energy surface is obtained using a linear combination of reproducing kernel Hilbert space polynomials together with an analytical long range potential. The nuclear spin free closecoupling equations are solved and the de-excitation rotational rate coefficients for the lower 15 rotational states of AlO+ are reported. A propensity rule to favour Δj = -1 transitions is obtained while the hyperfine resolved state-to-state rate coefficients are also discussed. © 2017 The Author(s).Universidad Autónoma de Chil
ESR OF THE BO AND AlO MOLECULES: EVIDENCE FOR A AlO Kr MOLECULE AT
L. B. Knight, JR., W. C. Easley, and W. Weltner, JR., J. Chem. Phys. 52 1607 (1970).""Author Institution: Department of Chemistry, University of FloridaBO and AlO molecules have been trapped in rare-gas matrices at in their ground states. Hyperfine (hf) interactions, g tensor, and matrix effects are strikingly different for these two species. BO exhibits a large unpaired spin density at the boron nucleus, is highly oriented in a ncon matrix, and has g values near in all matrices. In the ionic AlO molecule, only 20% of the odd electron is on the aluminum atom, and and (hf splitting of ) are extremely sensitive to the rare-gas hf structure has been resolved in that matrix associated with an extra set of lines that vanish above and reappear upon cooling to . The molecule formed between AlO and one Kr atom is presumably linear and exhibits a high degree of preferential orientation in the matrix. Its Al hfs is greater than that of AlO in a non-complexed lattice site
History, huh : a post-modern study of the consumption of queer romance
1 online resource (115 unnumbered pages) : colour illustrationsIncludes abstract and appendix.Includes bibliographical references (pages 107-113).Queer romance is a subgenre of the romance genre, being differentiated by the genre
and sexuality of the main relationship explored within the novel. When starting this thesis, I was especially interested in who is writing and reading queer romance, what they look for in queer romance novels, how they feel during and after the reading process, and how (and with whom) they identify in terms of the characters in these novels. Research showed that of the popular queer romance novels, most are written by queer identifying authors. Representation is something readers keep in mind when choosing a novel, and when it comes to the portrayal of these characters, most often readers are left feeling as if they are experiencing the story and romance through a friend’s eyes. Generally, readers will only question representation of queer identities if they feel something is wrong with the representations
PEMBERIAN OKSIGEN DAN POSISI SEMI FOWLER UNTUK MEMPERBAIKI POLA NAPAS PASIEN ACUTE LUNG OEDEMA (ALO) DI IGD RS MUHAMMADIYAH LAMONGAN
Background: Acute Lung Oedema (ALO) patients who experience breathing pattern disorders are characterized by complaints of shortness of breath (dyspnea) and an increase in breathing frequency (tachypnea) due to fluid buildup in the lungs, resulting in the problem of ineffective breathing pattern nursing. This case study aims to determine the results of administering oxygen and the semi-Fowler position to improve breathing patterns in Acute Lung Oedema (ALO) patients.
Method: The research design used in this case study is qualitative research with a case study research strategy. This case study uses 2 patients with the same medical diagnosis, namely Acute Lung Oedema (ALO) and uses a sampling technique, namely non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling approach. In the data collection process, the author used interview/anamnesis techniques, observation, documentation studies related to the 2 patients studied.
Results: After the intervention of administering oxygen and semi-Fowler's position, the results were obtained in case 1: complaints of shortness of breath decreased quite a lot, use of accessory muscles for breathing decreased quite a lot, and breathing frequency improved (RR: 20x/minute), and case 2: complaints of shortness of breath decreased, use of respiratory muscles decrease, respiratory frequency improves (RR: 19x/minute).
Discussion: The main nursing problem in the 2 cases in this study was that the breathing pattern was ineffective and respiration monitoring interventions were carried out as well as administering oxygen and the semi-Fowler position as additional interventions studied. Researchers recommend a combination of oxygen administration and semi-Fowler's position to improve breathing patterns in Acute Lung Oedema (ALO) patients in the emergency room
Tropical cyclones enhance photosynthesis in moisture-stressed regions of India
Abstract We unravel the response of terrestrial ecosystems in India to Tropical Cyclones (TCs) originating in the North Indian Ocean (NIO). We find that about 34.6% of TCs drove greening and 65.4% caused browning response of vegetation during 2000–2020. TC-induced greening is more likely for TCs originated in pre-monsoon (100%) or monsoon (62.5%) than post-monsoon with large browning response (94%). Rainfall by TCs increases soil moisture (SM) and reduces climatic water deficit (CWD) for a moisture-stressed region, and its effective utilisation by vegetation triggers the greening response. Granger Causality reveals that TC-induced rain and greening response exhibit a maximum temporal lag of 40 days. The favourable vegetation response to TCs is a new insight as it sheds light on the complex Atmosphere-Land-Ocean (ALO) interactions on a regional scale. The findings can aid to improve climate models for better policy decisions aimed at climate adaptation and sustainability on both regional and global scales

THE FOURIER TRANSFORM SPECTRUM OF B - X BAND SYSTEM OF ALO
Author Institution: A-10 Basera, Off-Din Quarry Road, Deonar, Mumbai 400 088, India; Department of Physics, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, India; Spectroscopy Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay, Mumbai 400 085, India; High Pressure Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay, Mumbai 400 085, IndiaThe spectrum of B - X system of AlO has been recorded on BOMEM DA8 F. T. spectrometer at an apodized resolution of 0.05 . Nineteen bands of the = 1, 0, -1 and - 2 sequences of this system have been analyzed for the rotational structure, out of which seven bands, viz. 3-2, 4-3, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 5-6 and 6-7 have been analyzed for the first time. The rotational lines of these bands along with earlier analyzed bands, a total of 7200 lines have been fitted in a simultaneous least squares fit. The study has resulted in determining more precise vibrational and rotational constants of the two states. Because of the high resolution employed it became necessary to invoke and coefficients, and a fifth order term to explain the anomalous spin-doubling observed in the v" = 5, 6 and 7 levels of the state
Embodied curriculum mapping as a foundation for critical self-reflection and culture change
This article describes a first-person qualitative research study to understand how common pedagogical approaches and cultural learning environments in STEM impact individuals. Prior to the study, the author observed that many students who were successful in advanced undergraduate neuroscience courses reported having struggled academically, socially, or emotionally in introductory STEM courses. The objective was to generate new ideas for approaches to address high rates of student attrition from introductory STEM courses related to this full range of issues through curriculum development. The author, a neurobiologist and tenured faculty member at the institution, audited four introductory STEM courses: Introduction to Cellular and Molecular Biology, Atoms & Molecules, Calculus 1, and Introductory Physics 2: Electromagnetism, Optics, and Modern Physics, offered by tenured colleagues in four different departments. A total of approximately 600 hours was spent by the author attending lectures, participating in classroom activities, completing homework, and studying for assessments. Homework, quizzes, and exams were marked by the course faculty using the same criteria as were applied for student work. In addition to measures of academic performance collected through the normal assessments, the author made note of her own emotional responses throughout the course of the study, which is why the process was dubbed ‘embodied’ curriculum mapping. The emotional responses revealed high levels of emotional stress associated with assessment, sensitivity to disciplinary boundary reinforcement, and a complex role of social and academic identity in all aspects of the experience. Given the first-person nature of the study, the potential future generalizability of the findings must be considered in light of the various revealed aspects of identity and experience of the author and subjected to further study using a broader range of empirical methodologies. The focus of this article’s conclusions and recommendations is therefore the impact of the process on the author and the potential for a similar process to serve as a foundation for critical self-reflection and learning for other STEM educators. The author recommends the process as a generative tool for pedagogical innovation and building faculty capacity for culture change in STEM
