The L-p-to-L-q boundedness of commutators with applications to the Jacobian operator
Supplying the missing necessary conditions, we complete the characterisation of the L-p -> L-q boundedness of commutators [b, T] of pointwise multiplication and Calderon-Zygmund operators, for arbitrary pairs of 1 q, our results are new even for special classical operators with smooth kernels. As an application, we show that every f is an element of L-p(R-d) can be represented as a convergent series of normalised Jacobians J(u) = det del uof u is an element of (over dot(W))(1,dp)(R-d)(d). This extends, from p = 1 to p > 1, a result of Coifman, Lions, Meyer and Semmes about J:. Enhancement of flavonoid ability to cross the blood-brain barrier of rats by co-administration with α-tocopherol
Vitamin E and polyphenols could exhibit a therapeutic role in the treatment of oxidative stress-induced neurodegenerative diseases. Therefore, their ability to cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB) represents an important issue to be explored by different diet combinations. In this study, we have evaluated the ability of α-tocopherol to support epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), quercetin and rutin to cross the BBB, following oral administration. Eighteen rats were fed a standard diet (C), a diet supplemented with α-tocopherol (A), with a mixture of EGCG, quercetin and rutin (P); or with a mixture of α-tocopherol and the three flavonoids (AP). Flavonoids and their conjugated derivatives were assayed in brain and plasma by HPLC-MS, whereas α-tocopherol was detected by RP-HPLC. The oxidative damage, due to the potential pro-oxidant activity of flavonoids, was evaluated by the presence of 8-hydroxy-2′-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) in hippocampal Cornus Ammonis, one of the most vulnerable sites in the brain. Our results indicate that α-tocopherol is able to promote quercetin transport across the BBB. The mixture of rutin and quercetin seems to favour the accumulation of quercetin and/or its conjugated derivatives in the brain. In contrast, α-tocopherol does not affect EGCG transport across the BBB. The densitometric analysis of 8-OHdG immunoreactivity does not reveal any difference of oxidative damage among the experimental groups. Our results suggest that α-tocopherol may promote quercetin transport across the BBB, leading to a significant increase of α-tocopherol and quercetin concentration in the brain. This journal i

Novel complete-arch pillar system (CAPS) to register implant position and maxillomandibular relationship in one single visit: Complete-Arch Pillar System (CAPS)
Objectives: This article presents a novel complete-arch pillar system (CAPS) to register implant position and maxillomandibular relationship in one single visit for implant-supported fixed complete dental prostheses (IFCDPs). Material and Methods: The novel system presents a 3-unit toolset comprising intraoral scan bodies (ISBs), lateral pillar attachments (LPAs) and occlusal pillar attachments (OPAs). A 2-stage single visit workflow by an intraoral scanner (Trios 5) was introduced. The first stage “Screw-Scan-Done” was used to describe complete-arch intraoral implant scanning using LPAs. The second stage “Screw-Occlude-Done” involved virtual occlusal recording using OPAs. Two patients with one single edentulous arch were selected for this study. In the first patient, 6 bone level implants (Bone Level Tapered, Straumann) were placed in the edentulous maxilla at positions 12, 14, 16, 22, 24 and 26. In the second patient, 4 bone level implants (NobelActive CC, Nobel Biocare) were placed in the edentulous mandible at positions 32, 35, 42 and 45. A CAD-CAM procedure was initiated with the acquired IOS data to fabricate an interim IFCDP at the same day. Periapical radiographs were obtained of the implant-prosthetic connection of the definitive IFCDPs to verify the passive fit. Metrology software (Geomagic Qualify, 3D Systems – Matlab, Mathworks) was used to assess the implant analogs position in the 3D-printed casts used for fabricating the definitive IFCDPs. A quantitative occlusal relationship analysis was performed with IOS. Results: Radiographic examination revealed no gaps at implant-prosthetic connection of the definitive IFCDPs. The 3D-printed casts showed an overall average distance deviation within the clinically acceptable range of errors of 150 μm. Quantitative occlusal relationship analysis with IOS showed well-distributed contacts. Conclusion: Within the limitations of this study, the following conclusions can be drawn: (1) A 3-unit toolset with ISBs, LPAs and OPAs allows to register the implant position and maxillomandibular relationship in one single visit; (2) the 2-stage clinical workflow with the CAPS system facilitates the IOS data acquisition for fabrication of an interim IFCDP at the same day; (3) a passive fit was demonstrated for the interim and the definitive IFCDPs. Clinical significance: The CAPS system can help clinicians to register the implant position and the maxillomandibular relationship in one single visit for the fabrication of an IFCDP

Memory, language and trauma in the work of Félix Grande
PhDMy thesis explores how memory and trauma permeate the work of the poet Félix Grande
(Mérida, Spain, 1937). It addresses the question of how his particular understanding of
memory is opposed to a rather bleak view of it held by many other Spanish poets of the
time. Grande does not yield to a generalized discrediting of memory. On the contrary,
memory is the driving force behind his writing, and this thesis constitutes an analysis of
its mechanisms. The originality of Grande’s work stems from the ways in which it shares
common ground with contemporary research carried out by disciplines that integrate
Memory and Trauma Studies. His poetic voice struggles to grasp aspects of memory
whose articulation proves traumatic. These elements resist symbolic translation and turn
his poetry into a work of constant rumination without closure. Grande’s work illustrates
that literature is both inextricably linked to memory, and is well equipped to deal with
trauma, as the labour carried out by memory, weaving and un-weaving, especially in its
attempts to mourn, is at the heart of his artistic production. Finally, his work instantiates a
relationship with language and memory which, while recognising the limits of language
to express and of memory to retrieve the past, goes beyond this initial distrust to offer a
positive perspective on these faculties, as the means for establishing modes of survival
and rethinking our connections to the unknown
