Linkage Between Human Resources Practices and Organizational Citizenship Behavior through Mediation of Perceived Organizational Support
Human resource (HR) practices have imperative role in polishing the abilities of employees of every sector. Similarly, HR practices like training and development and performance management have mammoth significance to boost up the professional capabilities of teachers. Unfortunately, teachers have not been provided trainings in Pakistan especially in schools due to which standard of education is very low. They only work for the financial benefits and don’t have any interest in welfare of schools. Thereby, this study aimed to investigate the role of training and development and performance management on organizational citizenship behaviors by considering the mediating role of perceived organizational support. Data were collected through questionnaires by adopting pretested and valid scales from prior study from 330 teachers of schools in Gujranwala division, Punjab, Pakistan. The data analysis was carried out with the help of AMOS and SPSS soft wares. The findings of current study were obtained with the help of structural equation modeling which indicated that performance management and training and development positively and significant associated with organizational citizenship behavior. Findings also demonstrated that perceived organizational support partially mediated the relationship among training and development, performance management and organizational citizenship behaviors. The recommendations for managers and scholars were outlined at the end. In addition to, limitations and future directions have also been discussed. Investigating the Mediating Effect of Job Satisfaction Between Workplace Discrimination and Intention to Leave in Information Technology Industry of Punjab, Pakistan
Globalization and the attention towards the technology now a day has gained the attention of the young generation to do their higher qualifications in Information Technology (IT) or in computer sciences in order to find the worthwhile and satisfying job in industry of IT. One of the most recent, advanced and the most worthwhile industries presently in the world and in Pakistan is the industry of Information and Technology. Moreover, today there is a major problem in the management of the IT companies in Pakistan. The employee Intention to leave from IT firms is in large scale. This study shows the relation between workplace discrimination, job satisfaction and intention to leave of IT professionals in Pakistan. Employees of every IT company from Punjab were asked to response the questionnaire. Sampling technique is Random sampling method in order to conduct this study. This study is based on questionnaire that focuses on workplace discrimination, job satisfaction and intention to leave and some demographic factors. A total number of 225 complete questionnaires were received from IT professionals. After testing the reliability of data through SPSS, the advance statistical technique AMOS 21 was applied to test the hypothesis. The statistical conclusions of this study showed that significant positive relationship between workplace discrimination and intention to leave and there is no mediating effect of job satisfaction between both workplace discrimination and intention to leave. In summary, this study gives suggestion to IT industry to remove discrimination factor to retain their employees in organization. Impact of Leadership and Communication on Project Success with the Mediating Effect of Affective Commitment in Virtual Projects
Despite growing interest on the issues of communication, leadership style and commitment, studies examining the interplay between all of these three variables are lacking. This paper attempts to address this gap. It draws on survey data involving 225 virtual project managers. Socio-economical changes nowadays have significant influence on the project success rate. The motive quantitative correlational research is inspecting connection among leadership style and communication (independent variable), having the mediating effect of affective commitment what's more, dependent variable, project success in virtual projects. The whole project professionals received 3-part personally administrative questionnaire. Response rate is 93.2%. The findings designated statistically significant relationship among leadership style, communication on project success in virtual projects and affective commitment contributes as mediation in these relationships. Linking Organizational Learning with Organizational Performance through Mediating Effect of Organizational Innovation
This study aimed to investigate the impact of organizational learning on organizational performance by considering the mediating role of organizational innovation. The primary data was collected from employees of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) located at Gujranwala. Valid and pretested scales from prior studies were adopted to collect data from participants by using simple random sampling. Self-administrated questionnaire was designed for data collection. AMOS 21.0 and SPSS 21.0 were used for data analysis. Structural Equation Modeling technique was used to achieve the objectives. The results indicated that organizational learning positively and significantly associated with organizational performance. The findings also demonstrated that organizational innovation didn’t mediate the relationship between organizational learning and organizational performance. Abnormal Returns, Corporate Financial Policies and the Dynamics of Leverage: Empirical Evidence from Non-Financial Sector of Pakistan
The aim of this study is to evaluate impact of corporate financial policies and the dynamics of leverage on financial performance of non-financial sector in Pakistan. In this study we used the data from Fertilizer, Chemical and Cement sector for the period 2008-2017. Abnormal return has been taken as dependent variable and Change in cash to lagged market values, Change in EBIT to lagged market values, Change in dividend to lagged market value, Net Financing to lagged market value, Lagged cash values to lagged market values, Lagged cash values to lagged market values crossed by change in cash to lagged market value, Change in total assets net of cash to lagged market values, Change in interest to lagged market values, Operating leverage, Financial leverage, Total leverage, Leverage ratio, Leverage ratio to change in cash crossed by lagged market values and WACC are taken as explanatory variables. OLS, Fixed effect and Random effect models has been used to express the impact of these variables on return. Hence it is concluded that leverage dynamics are significant contributors in designing the corporate financial policies. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
