PACE Solver Description: Martin_J_Geiger
This extended abstract outlines our contribution to the Parameterized Algorithms and Computational Experiments Challenge (PACE), which invited to work on the one-sided crossing minimization problem. Our ideas are primarily based on the principles of Iterated Local Search and Variable Neighborhood Search. For obvious reasons, the initial alternative stems from the barycenter heuristic. This first sequence (permutation) of nodes is then quickly altered/ improved by a set of operators, keeping the elite configuration while allowing for worsening moves and hence, escaping local optima
PACE Solver Description: A Simplified Threshold Accepting Approach for the Cluster Editing Problem
We present a simple heuristic for the Cluster Editing Problem as presented in the Parameterized Algorithms and Computational Experiments (PACE) 2021. Our method makes use of a simple Threshold Accepting strategy and employs single neighborhood moves only.
Despite its simplicity, the results of the method are encouraging. However, and this has to be expected, the approach cannot ultimately win in a competitive setting such as PACE 2021. Nevertheless, some interesting insights can be derived from such a simple method, as this gives an idea of how good results can be by a comparable basic approach with a reasonable implementation effort

The bachelor thesis is about Josef Janda and his legend creation. The aim of this thesis is to present the life and work of a scribe and chronicler Josef Janda. The theoretical part presents author Josef Janda from Horni Branná and its fund, which is particularly interesting in terms of folkloric and ethnographic. The practical part analyses the legends, that with using the methods of comparison, I compare with other legends from various authors that wrote the particular legends as well
HDO Raman spectrum
Title: HDO Raman spectrum Author: Martin Šubr Department: Institute of Physics of Charles University Supervisor: Prof. RNDr. Josef Štěpánek, CSc., Institute of Physics of Charles University Abstract: The main aim of this thesis is to determine the HDO Raman spectrum. This spectrum cannot be measured separately in its liquid form, but it is possible to obtain it by a specific mathematical processing of sets of measured spectra with different H/D ratios. In this work we measured Raman spectra of liquid water with different mole fractions of water and heavy water, which were evaluated by factor analysis. Except for well-known spectra of water and heavy water, spectrum of HDO was determined. For fitting of this spectrum and its analysis, model with equilibrium constant and linear correction of the spectral shape with respect to the relative ratio of D was used. Keywords: Raman scattering, water and heavy water, HDO, factor analysi
Proprietary Communities and Private Provision of Public Goods
The fact that public goods exist is often taken as a rationale for government provision of such goods, mostly because of the free rider phenomenon. In the given paper the author challenges this view through theoretical discussion of alternative views on public goods and empirical evidence of private provision of public goods, such as zoning, rule creation and infrastructure development. Private property rights and contracting with communities based on these institutional tools are the main focal point in the research of private provision. Author examines proprietary communities in USA and Czech Republic and shows that private provision of public goods is subject to market demand and this demand is met with supply, given the appropriate institutional context
DIRECTOR. AUTHOR. TEXT.
Diploma thesis BcA. Josef Doležal aims to reflect on his directorial experience to date. It tries to analyze the different production processes in relation to the text and the authorship. In the first part of the diploma thesis, he deals with his experiences in staging the play of Jaroslav Rudiš Anšlus in the Činoherní studio in Ústí nad Labem. The second describes the creation of his author's and at the same time master's production Harlequin is dead at the Divadlo DISK. The graduate student describes his first professional directing experience and compares it to the experience of directing work in a well-known collective of his class. It aims to name the pitfalls of different creative processes in such a way that it theoretically knows its specifics and hopes that thanks to this naming it will help itself and the reader to resolve their complexity and help prepare them for further npractical activities

Proprietary Communities and Private Provision of Public Goods
The fact that public goods exist is often taken as a rationale for government provision of such goods, mostly because of the free rider phenomenon. Josef Herscher. The Secret of His Coming and Working in the West Bohemia in the Baroque period
135 Summary This study deals with Josef Herscher, a sculptor of the late baroque period, who worked in West Bohemia. The first notice about his presence there comes from 1720, other apper during the next years till 1756 when Herscher died. During that time ruled in Manětín Marie Gabriela Lažanská, who wanted to increase the fame of the city. In 1719 died another sculptor, Štěpán Borovec, who had worked in Manětín before Josef Herscher. He is the author of e.g. The Trinity Statue on the main square. It is said, that the statue was finished by Borovec's son Václav Borovec. We assume, that Václav Borovec could have helped Josef Herscher in his workroom and could have been one of Herscher's journeymen. Štěpán Borovec studied in Prague in the workroom of Jan Brokof. We know from the teaching-paper, that he was educated there. Statues of Saints by Josef Herscher have many common features with these by Ferdinand Maxmilián Brokof. This study compares them with St. Elizabeth, St. John of Nepomuk, Holy Virgin and many others. It seems, Josef Herscher knew the production of Brokof's workroom from the beginning of the 18th century to the late twenties of this century. He used the whole composition of particular statues as so as small details from their faces or gesticulation, which he adapted according to his own..
