Using Push-Pull-Legs Training : A Weight Training Method for Muscle Hypertrophy in Upper Body on Amateur Athletes
Introduction: Over time the information in the science of sports training isupdated fantastically quickly. In weight training, in addition to classic trainingmethods, the popularization of new training methods is sought, whichcome in support of the performer athlete or the individual who practices inthe form of agreement, in achieving the stability objectives. The aim of thispaper represent the hypertrophic effects that push-pull (PP) training can haveon the upper body of amateur lifters. Methods: The study lasted for 6 weeksin a fitness center and the subjects (N = 6, M(y)23±1.1y, M(h)179.8±2.9 cm,M(w)74.3±2.9 kg, BMI(i)23.4±0.9kg/m2) were selected as participants. Theroutine consisted of 3 workouts/week. The participants trained using themethod (PPL) but with the observation that the study followed the hypertrophiceffects achieved on the upper body following the push-pull (PP) training.Measurements of the circumference of the pectoral (Ch), flexed arm (Ar) andthe width of the shoulders (Sh), were measured using a metric band in twostages, an initial stage (Ch (i) 102±1.8, Ar(i) 37.8±0.8, Sh(i) 46.7±2.7, and a final,to see if it exists there is -500, and for height a tachometer. For evaluatingbody mass W(i), W (f) and body mass index BMI(i) BMI(f), we used an OmronHGF-500 scale, and a stadiometer for height. Results: After the 6 weeksof training, the expected hypertrophic results were recorded (BMI(f)22.2±0.7,W(f) 74.7±1.5, Ch (f)102.9±1.7, Ar(f)38.4±0.6, Sh(f)47.4±2.5). Alternatively,we used the T test (T = 2.01 for p <0.05) to tell us if there were any significant
changes. We can say that the PP method is effective at the level of the uppertrain. Conclusions: Within the limits of the study, it can be concluded thatsignificant changes can occur using the PP training method
Comparative Study on Multi-Joint and Single-Joint Exercises in Bodybuilding Economics
Introduction. A relevant aspect of bodybuilding is that each person wantsto improve muscle mass, or remove adipose tissue and build muscle, but thiscan only be done through a specific training program. The purpose of thiscurrent research is to make a comparative study between MJ and SJ exercises,and to see if through specific training routines, the subjects can achievethe proposed objectives, muscular hypertrophy or weight loss. Methods. Thestudy was carried out on a number of 30 subjects divided in two groups withspecific trainings methods. To obtain specific results, we will develop 2 trainingroutines, one routine for hypertrophy based on multi-joint exercises, andone for weight loss based on single-joint exercises. These training structureswill be consistent with the specific objectives, in terms of load used, numberof repetitions and rest break. Results. Following the experiment, we recordeda series of significant results, regarding the HMM group, respectively the DMgroup. The most representative increases were recorded in the chest musclefrom HMM group, with an increase of 5.86%. The smallest increase was onthe chest on DM group, -2.57%, and in the thighs the highest of -4.15%. Conclusions.The hypothesis works to confirm, this allows us to affirm that it ispossible as through a predetermined program with multi-joint exercises, anda program with single-joint exercises combined with cardio routines, subjectsaccumulate muscle mass, or lose weight by reducing the perimeters of bodysegments, to reach the desired physical shape
Study on the improvements of body composition indices in adult women by means of aerobic gymnastics
Introduction: Fitness in relation to health is a contemporary topic, which is topical due to the diversity of methods and programmes to support and improve health and is increasingly being addressed by the sports and medical scientific community. Regular physical activity and exercise are the actuators of our whole body's well-being, both somatic, functional, and cognitive. Purpose: Through this article, we wish to highlight the use of a personalized aerobic fitness program conducted collectively that can generate significant results based on transforming the perception of how participants look and feel good in their own bodies. Materials & Methods: The research sample consisted of nineteen young adult female subjects (N=19, age = 35,4 ± 5,02 years, Weight(i) 66,7 ± 12,61 kg, Height= 166 ± 6,69 cm) clients of a fitness center. They trained following a personalized program of an aerobic fitness class for 4 weeks, with a frequency of 2 workouts per week. The results indicate a significant improvement in the somatic parameters of the research participants, but in order to maintain the results obtained, physical activity should be continued after the end of the research. Conlusions: Within the limits of our study, we conclude that significant changes in body composition indices can be produced in adult women by performing an exercise routine under systematic and continuous conditions
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
