Abstract : By studying the trajectory of the representation of Indians in the Brazilian literature, we realized that our literary tradition, concerning to this theme, was influenced by a foreign culture, thereby building up an image of the Indian in his native element figured as representation of standards and specific moral values strange to himself. Given this scenario, the goal of this dissertation is to set forth from the Ana Miranda's novel Yuxin (2009) to the dialogue taken with other literary works, having the language as an approach, and the way the author used it to establish her narrative. Ana Miranda sought to (re)create a performative text of indigenous culture, which, in his poetics, contains a personal and unique diction, full of sounds, pauses and gestures to give voice to a people and tell a story that questions the views of social, political and aesthetic, as well as the notions we have of what is sacred. The narrative proposes a fluidity that comes from the title itself, because the semantic meaning of yuxin is not static, on the contrary, always escapes attempts to make it concrete, since it is fluid substance, which cannot be trapped. Thus, also this textuality eludes us if we consider only its formal aspects, whereas it is at the level of perception, that which is elusive and fleeting, that Yuxin finds its meaning. We propose a reading of Yuxin?s poetics that promotes reflections woven from relations between shamanism, perspectivism, musicality and primitive thought, as these issues are immersed in the narrative and configure their arrangements of enunciation. From this discussion, we realized that the basic issue underlying the novel can be understood as an exclamation of alterity. By stating this other voice, from the autochthonous figure and its relationship with space, the text of Ana Miranda, along with other literary narratives that shares the proposal to give voice to the other that was once silenced, cooperates to promote a questioning of the marginalization place that Amerindian peoples face and the symbolic boundaries imposed on them as a legacy of the colonization process, driving a shift that reconfigures the collective imaginary. The literary discourse thus has the ability to rebuild and reinvent both the myth as history and memory

According to the global health risks report(2009), insufficient intake of fruit and vegetables was estimated to cause around 14% of gastrointestinal cancer deaths, about 11% of ischemic heart disease deaths and about 9% of stroke deaths worldwide (Mathers, Stevens et al. 2009). Anthocyanins, a major type of phytonutrient in berry, are considered to be able to provide the positive effect on health and it has been drawn great attention by institution and food industry. Thereby, it is significant to concentrate the anthocyanins into food matrix by an efficient method. This study covers the adsorption process of the cranberry juice anthocyanins by soy protein isolate (SPI). Provided results indicate that the soy protein isolate can effectively adsorb the anthocyanins and can be used for successful extraction of it from the low acid juice matrix. The adsorption capabilities of the SPI are tested at various temperature and pH values. It is found that the optimal processing condition for the adsorption is with 45℃ at pH 7. Particle size and zeta potential of the SPI are investigated, and the results of conformational changes in soy protein as the processing conditions vary describe the mechanism of adsorption. Chemical changes in vibrational spectra of soy protein and anthocyanins are monitored. Mathematical modeling of the adsorption equilibrium reveals that both Langmuir and Dubinin–Radushkevich isotherms well describe the adsorption equilibrium of anthocyanins onto soy protein isolate, and process kinetics follows the pseudo-first order. The mean free energy of adsorption per molecule of adsorbate (i.e. anthocyanins) is equal to 1.96 kJ/mol, which corresponds to an electrostatic physicosorption nature of anthocyanins–soy protein interaction. Proposed processing method for the extraction of health-promoting phytonutrients from cranberry juice by plant protein matrix can be applied for wide range of juices and extracts and used for development of new high value food products.M.S.Includes bibliographical referencesIncludes vitaby Yuxin Wan

Studies of asymptotically hyperbolic Einstein's manifold

This thesis aims to study the Dirichlet problem for asymptotically hyperbolic Einstein manifolds. We will look after links between the asymptotically hyperbolic Einstein metric and its conformal class on the infinity. The main result of this thesis is regularity result for asymptotically hyperbolic Einstein metric (for short AHE) : given an explicit regularity of a metric in the conformal class at infinity, we try to prove the regularity of compactified metric of AHE, we study also some conformal invariants, as well as an extended study of an explicit family of AHE metrics. After a reminder of the framework, we focus on three conformal invariants: the Yamabe invariant on the conformal infinity; the Yamabe-Escobar invariants; and the renormalized volume developed by Graham. With the help of a well known result due to Lee, Han-Gursky and Chen-Lai-Wang, state for an AHE metric, if the Yamabe invariant of the conformal infinity is positive, then so are the Yamabe-Escobar invariants. In this thesis, we study the reciprocal property. By adding the positivity condition of the renormalized volume, we obtain in dimension 4 that the positivity of the Yamabe-Escobar invariant implies the positivity of the Yamabe invariant of the conformal infinity. For this we use a result due to Anderson, which states that in dimension 4 the renormalized volume is related to the topological invariant--Euler characteristic, by the Gauss-Bonnet-Chern's formula We then the regularity problem. A natural question is how can we improve the regularity of a compactified metric for AHE metric, once we know an explicit bound on the regularity of the boundary metric. For this purpose, we study first the regularity of the Weyl tensor. Then, we obtain the regularity of the Ricci curvature by using the Bach flat condition. At the end, we imply the regularity of the metric. To study the regularity of the Weyl tensor of the compacted metric, we use the Bochner equation satisfied by Einstein metric. Hence, we study an elliptic operator on the sections of a (3,1)-tensor bundle. This study is included in the general framework of geometric elliptic operators on weighted geometric bundle developed by Lee. We obtain, in weighted Hölder spaces, the suitable the estimates a priori for these operators. Then by constructing a smooth approximated metric, we manage to prove a regularity theorem on the compacted metric. Pedersen defines a one-parameter family of AHE metrics on the ball of dimension 4 having as conformal infinity the Berger spheres. We compute in the thesis the sign of the Yamabe invariant of the boundary, the sign of the Yamabe-Escobar invariant and the renormalized volume for this family. A study of the relative signs of these various invariants as a function of the parameter was motivated by the study of the reciprocal in the first part. A natural conjecture is to show that the positivity of the renormalized volume suffices to prove the positivity of the Yamabe invariant of the conformal infinity

Elliptical systems related to superconductor model

Ces deux résultats sont fortement reliés aux applications n-harmoniquesOur work focus on the elliptic partial differential Equations arising from the mathematical physics, especially from the superconductivity. Therefore most of our work is on the Ginzburg-Landau model, which is a macroscopic model for the type-II superconductors. The work is divided into two big parts : this first part is on the vortices analysis of the Ginzburg-Landau model of Type-II superconductors in 2 dimensions, including the variations of the number of vortices and optimality of Abrikosov lattices among Bravais Lattices. We also have done some work related to the material structure, for example, the Lennard-Jones model and the Thomas-Fermi model. This second part is on the Ginzburg-Landau functional in n-dimensional case. Two main results are contained in this part: One is on the renormalized energy for minimizer of n-dimensional Ginzburg-Landau functional; The other one is on the limits of solutions to Ginzburg-Landau equations in n dimension. Both of these two results are closely related to the p-harmonic map

This paper describes 20th century climate and human impacts on terrestrial and fluvial systems in the Dabie Mountains, Anhui Province, China, based on analyses of four types of information. Analyses of particle size, mineral magnetism, organic carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus in a sediment core taken from the Longhekou reservoir, built in 1958 AD in the upper reaches of Hangbu River, provide an ?45 year record of fluvial responses, while monitored meteorological and hydrological data provide records of climate and river discharge. Census data compiled for the local Shucheng County provide records of population and land use, complemented with analyses of satellite images. The Xiaotian river delivers over 65% of the total water and silt to the reservoir. Analyses indicate that the fluvial regime tracks the monsoon climate over seasonal timescales, but human activities have a strongly mediating effect on sediment supply, sediment delivery and, to a lesser extent, runoff over longer timescales. Notable periods of human impact on erosion include the Great Leap Forward (1958–1960) and Great Cultural Revolution (1966–1976). A rising trend in precipitation and new land use changes at the present time may be leading to an enhanced flood risk

Publisher Copyright: © 2021 Elsevier LtdDemand control of the air distribution systems is crucial to the satisfactory thermal environment under variable heat gain conditions in an energy efficient manner. In this study, the airflow patterns, ventilation performance and local thermal comfort have been experimentally investigated in mock-up meeting and office rooms with a variable air volume (VAV) system. The Active Diffuser, which had a constant inlet air velocity, was compared with some commonly used diffusers: Rectangular; Swirl-Radial; Swirl-Compact and Multi-Nozzle Diffusers. In the test, there were four different heat gain levels: high heat gain (46 W/m2) in a meeting room setting; high (46 W/m2), medium (24 W/m2) and low (11 W/m2) heat gain in an office room setting, respectively. The corresponding specific supply airflow rates in the high, medium and low heat gain cases were 4.3 L/s m2, 2.1 L/s m2, 1 L/s m2, respectively. Visualized figures showed the effect of VAV on airflow patterns were quite different among different diffusers. The indexes including air velocity, ventilation effectiveness, effective draft temperature, draught rating and so on were therefore analysed. By using the Active Diffuser, the airflow distribution and most of these indexes were more uniform and more stable under the VAV. Although the Rectangular, Swirl-Compact, Swirl-Radial and Multi-Nozzle Diffusers might perform better in one or two cases regarding some indexes, their airflow patterns and performances of indexes were unstable under the VAV. Thus, the Active Diffuser was recommended for the VAV system for the application where heat gains vary significantly.Peer reviewe

In this thesis, we are concerned with the regularity of optimal transport maps on compact Riemannian manifolds. In the first chapter, we give some definitions and recall some facts in Riemannian geometry. In the second chapter, we examine the variation of the curvature on the geodesics. In the third chapter, we study the MTW tensor on compact Riemannian manifold. We show that an improved MTW condition is satisfied on nearly spherical manifold. The proof goes by a careful analysis combined with the perturbative arguments on the spheres. In the fourth chapter, we study the inverse of the Hessian matrix of the squared distance. In the fifth chapter, we prove the smoothness of the optimal transport maps on two classes of compact Riemannian manifold-nearly spherical manifolds and Riemannian products of nearly spherical manifolds. In the last chapter, we provide some perspectives about the optimal transportation in the literature
