Abstract With this article, I propose an analytical approach to two series of photographs, of which I am the author, that questions the photographic status of the image and helps to define the differences and parallelims between what is understood by documentary photography and street photography. Both series are based on "stolen" photographs that seek to make women visible and their ways of occupying the public space during citizen practices that reveal issues of equity and difference in relation to gender. With this conceptual approach, these series -articulated as diagrammatic sets of images- emphasize the convenience of a visual, organizational syntax of narration and discourse. The aim is to support, in this way, a type of street photography, causal, instantaneous and operative, that recovers authenticity from instantaneity and promote a dialectic between sociopolitical commitment and reality. Key words: Photography, documnetary, street, woman, gender, sociopolitical

This proposal deals with how the museum has been regressive and particularistic in the field of subjectivities related to gender, sex and race. Regressive for the repeated return to the repressive narratives of the history of art and particularist for the incompleteness of the representational and critical repertoire that addresses feminist or considered positions of otherness. Through the projection of a video work entitled The decoy –12 minutes long– I make a conceptual and analytical journey through some 20th and 21st century museums considered international showcases of contemporary art

With this article I propose an analytical and comparative approach to movement based on a series of works organised as visual sequences which argue for the syntax of representation using the photographic image, drawing and words. On the one hand, in the sequences of photos, movement does not only appear as an inscription of a physical route, recorded by a fluency of photography images or by the action of capturing and pursuing the objective, but also as an ideological trajectory organised through the semiotic order of the photographic image itself and of the framing as the element that structures the gaze. And on the other hand, in the drawn pictogram, movement is initiated by the very act of marking and staining the paper. Drawing is interpreted as an action that establishes scenic and temporary relations both with the real, physical space and with the psyche. The works that motivated this analysis, entitled, Affidamento, Posiciones, La imagen negada and Correspondencias, aim to establish a dynamic grammar of representation

The veiled is analyzed as a rhetorical figure or allegorical resource that in photography, as in narrative, acts with the intention of intensifying an elliptical language to hide, conceal or evoke meanings. The article reviews how Katherine Mansfield’s writing carries veiled forms of persuasion to make the viewer participate, in a subsumed way, in the narratives of omission. In photography, what is veiled will be a blind field in the sense that it is not visible in the image, but acts by expanding meanings beyond the frame. The veiled, finally, will be the stylistic resource that articulates an artistic project, entitled About Mansfield, that alternates photography and text to develop mechanics of identity construction, in such a way that the photographic image is linked to a story that serves as the backbone of the texts from the Diaries by Mansfield. The aim is to generate a visual syntax that acts with veiled parameters, revealing reductionist patterns around women.

The present article analyzes the transfer of narrative structures, specific for encryption and the veiled, and discursive elements of gender to the art field. Developed through an installationist art work articulated from the appropriation and intervention of the stories writer Katherine Mansfield and from the museistic representation of the flower arrangements deposited as sediments on a stack of books of modernists women writers. Thus, structural features of the modernist narrative, such as textual fragmentation and open-ended, are then conjugated with others features more controversial as pastiche, appropriation and plagiarism. In this way, the art work -whose axis is situated in the critic to the ways of producing knowledge, from the sexual and gender differentiation- creates counter-histories based on expanded practices of reading and writing.xis is situated in the critic to the ways of producing knowledge, from the sexual and gender differentiation- creates counter-histories based on expanded practices of reading and writing.

Transgender and identity in South African photography: Zanele Muholi

The work of the South African photographer Zanele Muholi born in 1972 in Umlazi, Durban, brings us to minorities of sexual identity and all conceptualization and interpretation denatured of gender spectrum in the South African context. They are notations of reality as such cause an effect of file. Put in place mechanisms for identification and bonds of likeness and assimilation with community treated as marginal, stigmatized by their “dysfunctional” and that in the South African scenario is segregated, threatened and persecuted

    Fotografía sudafricana y género

This article introduces the photography as a structure of meaning from which to analyzes the real-literal and subjectivity. This peculiarity has been constituted as an ideal language in dealing with the specificities in the field of cultural practices, the construction of memory and gender identity discourse within the African context. We have analyzed the similarities generated by the first anthropological photo reports with the colonial continuum and posterior segregationist regimes such as apartheid in South Africa, exerting a hegemonic gaze away from the cultural and social particularities as well as race, gender, sex and sexuality differences. This has led us to the exploration and interpretation of the activist side of the current African photography, which analyzes the identity from all streams related to gender and racialist issues: racial control as biopower and social and political power over the body, sexual difference and sexuality. Under that rejection of the normative, photographs of Santu Mofokeng, Samuel Fosso and Zanele Muholi are visual demonstrations that articulate the conflicting nature of identity and gender in a scenario like the African which, rooted in a precarious political and economic order, carries systemic violence that manifests itself in terms of criminalization, marginalization and exclusion.

Al mismo tiempo, paralelamente, se reflexiona sobre cómo la fotografía es un instrumento político subversivo.I start from the idea of analyzing the city as if it were a text to address it as an aesthetic object susceptible to reading. To analyze the city as a text is to suppose that in itself this is a language, a communication system, a continuous web of metaphors, a container of life forms, a collage of mental and social structures in which the economic, social and cultural establishes modes of organization and forms of representation. This paper proposes an analytical approach to the city from the utterances, a term used by Michel de Certau to describe urban practices that establish an alternate spatiality to the planned text of the city. This approach will be made through a series of photographs in which these "voices" are designated as utterances from the feminine and that are entitled Urban Utterances. The aim is to describe citizen practices of everyday life in the city that are capable of revealing or visualizing problems that surround equality and difference in relation to gender. Can photography be operative to reveal social commitment around the problems surrounding equality and difference in relation to gender? Is the city the stage in which the sexist differences of occupation of the urban space are visible? From these questions and following the trail that Walter Benjamin left on the Paris of Baudeleire and the figure of the flaneur, I analyze how the paradigm of the urban, in today's modern societies, articulates our social relations, daily behaviors and ways of organizing ourselves. At the same time, in parallel, I reflect on how photography is a subversive political instrument
