Total factor productivity and relative prices: the case of Italy
In his seminal work, Fontela (1989) set up the distributional rule of productivity gain in the input–output context (total factor productivity surplus, TFPS). Garau (1996) proposed an extension, to identify a measure of surplus, called purchasing power transfer (PPT). This measure is given by the productivity gains and market surplus generated by the extra-profit conditions derived from the rental positions detained by agents. Such a decomposition is useful because it provides information about the degree of non–competitiveness in different markets. In this paper, we compute and explain Fontela's (1989) TFPS by comparing it with Garau's (1996) PPT for Italy over 2009–2014

Economic And Environmental Impact Of The Tourism Carrying Capacity: A Local-Based Approach
The design and the evaluation of sustainable tourism policies require involving all the actors in the decision-making process. One of the critical aspects at the regional level is the absence of a clear definition of instruments and methodologies able to involve all the actors and to meet different policy targets. The aim of this study is to assess the economic and environmental impact of the tourism carrying capacity by proposing a framework able to deal with multiple variables. To this end, a social accounting matrix is built for a local area composed by four municipalities within the Sardinia region (Italy), and then it is used as a reference frame to implement the extended multisectoral model. Such an approach will provide results, on visitors flow recorded in the Asinara National Park, in terms of value added and CO2 emissions changes. © The Author(s) 2021
Eccentric training programmes in the management of lateral elbow tendinopathy.
BACKGROUND:
Eccentric training has shown promising results in the management of Achilles and patellar tendinopathy. Recently, studies have investigated eccentric training in the treatment of lateral elbow tendinopathy.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this review was to describe eccentric training programs used to treat LET in order to inform clinicians and identify areas requiring further study.
METHOD:
An electronic search of publications indexed in the MEDLINE database was performed in May 2007. Studies comparing eccentric training with at least one other intervention were included. Results. Four studies investigating a total of 248 participants were identified. Three of the four studies reported superior results for eccentric training compared with other interventions, although this included one pilot study and another study that did not include an extended follow-up. There were several differences between the studies, including whether eccentric training was painful or pain-free, the duration of eccentric training (4 - 12 weeks) and whether training was performed in a clinical setting or at home.
CONCLUSION:
Eccentric training in the management of LET has demonstrated encouraging results, although the literature is limited and eccentric programs are varied. Future studies should investigate factors that may influence the outcome of eccentric training, including whether training is painful and the duration of eccentric training
