    The authors make a phytosociologal description of the forest groupings at collinean and mountain levels of various sectors of "Drôme".     Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Après avoir donné la répartition des Hêtre, Sapin, Bouleau et Pin laricio en Corse, l'auteur situe chacune de ces essences dans les étages de végétation de l'île et indique les conditions climatiques et édaphiques auxquelles elle est liée. Les principaux types de groupements sylvatiques auxquels participent ces arbres sont décrits et l'essentiel de leur cortège floristique est cité. Un résumé de l'histoire post-glaciaire de ces essences en Corse permet ensuite d'introduire un bref exposé sur les facteurs responsables des répartitions actuelles et le problème du climax. Enfin, les séries de végétation liées à ces arbres sont citées et la succession des groupements végétaux qui les constituent est matérialisée à l'aide de planches.The author describes the distribution of beech, silver fir, birch and Corsican pine in Corsica, the place of each species in the stages of the island's vegetation, and the climatic and edaphic conditions with which each is associated. The main types of woodland communities are described in which these trees play a part, and the essential components of their floras are listed. A summary of the post-glacial history of these species in Corsica then provides the occasion for a short account of the factors that are responsible fort the present-day distributions, and of the problem of the climax vegetation. Finally, reference is made to the vegetational stages associated with these trees, and the succession of the plant communities of which they are composed is represented by the use of diagrams
