No full text“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

The increasingly relevant and transformational role that software and virtualization are gaining in the telecommunications field today enables unprecedented levels of abstraction, disaggregation, distribution, extensibility, slicing, and programmability in network infrastructures and services. Software-based networking is radically changing the way communication infrastructures are designed, programmed, integrated, and operated, enabling rapid and innovative network functions and network services creation and deployment, and opening the door to a faster pace of innovation in the networking and ICT industry. Such transformation, referred to as "network softwarization," is propelled by the emergence of several network technologies and paradigms, like network programmability (NP), intent-based networking (IBN), multi-access edge computing (MEC), network slicing (NS), software defined networking (SDN), and network function virtualization (NFV), which are gaining traction in production environments, and are bound to be core technologies of the maturing 5G and beyond networks. However, there are still several daunting challenges that need to be addressed before "telecom software" solutions fully leverage these technologies and become mature enough to be widespread and adopted by the industry

No full textBMT atau Baitul Ma>l wa al-Tamwi>l merupakan lembaga keuangan syariah non bank. Sistem operasional BMT terdiri dari fungsi baitu al- ma>l dan fungsi baitu altamwi>l. Baitu al-ma>l mengurusi harta zakat, infaq, wakaf dan sedekah sedangkan baitu al-tamwi>l fokus pada pengembangan harta melalui usaha produktif. Fungsi baitu altamwi>l BMT terdiri dari funding, lending dan jasa. Biasanya produk funding di BMT adalah simpanan. Dewasa ini simpanan di suatu LKS kian beragam temasuk di BMT NU Ngasem Jawa Timur, salah satunya adalah simpanan pendidikan. Simpanan pendidikan ini memiliki 4 praktik berbeda, salah satunya menggunakan program “kotak tabungan” yang sangat dianjurkan untuk berwakaf tunai, simpanan ini dikenal dengan “Si Galis”. Pada penelitian ini terdapat dua hal yang menjadi permasalahan, pertama bagaimana praktik produk simpanan pendidikan “Si Galis” di BMT NU Ngasem Jawa Timur. Kedua, bagaimana tinjauan hukum Islam terhadap produk simpanan pendidikan “Si Galis” di BMT NU Ngasem Jawa Timur. Berdasarkan permasalahan di atas, tujuan pertama penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan praktik produk simpanan pendidikan “Si Galis” di BMT NU Ngasem Jawa Timur. Kedua adalah mengetahui tinjauan hukum Islam terhadap produk simpanan pendidikan “Si Galis” di BMT NU Ngasem Jawa Timur. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian field research dengan tempat penelitian di BMT NU Ngasem Jawa Timur. Sumber datanya meliputi data primer yaitu observasi dan hasil wawancara sedangkan data sekundernya diperoleh dari sumber-sumber data rujukan seperti buku, kitab, jurnal dan lainnya. Metode pengumpulan data penelitian ini diperoleh dari observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi sedangkan metode yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data adalah metode deduktif kualitatif. Kesimpulan pertama (1) dari penelitian ini adalah praktik pertama yaitu antara BMT dengan siswa, praktik kedua adalah antara BMT dengan sekolah yang MoU dan bonus sepenuhnya dimiliki sekolah, praktik ketiga adalah antara BMT dengan sekolah yang MoU serta bonus dibagi 50%untuk sekolah dan 50 % untuk siswa sedangkan praktik keempat adalah antara BMT dengan siswa yang menggunakan program “kotak tabungan” dan dianjurkan untuk berwakaf tunai. Kesimpulan kedua (2) adalah ditinjau dari segi fikih maka praktik pertama, kedua dan ketiga sudah sesuai dengan konsep wadi>’ah yad ald{ama>nah dan konsep perwalian baik syarat atau rukunnya. Adapun praktik keempat selain menggunakan teori wadi>’ah yad al-d{ama>nah dan konsep perwalian juga menggunakan konsep wakaf produktif. Ditinjau dari segi fikih praktik keempat juga sudah sesuai baik rukun serta syaratnya dari ketiga teori tesebut akan tetapi untuk menghindari adanya komersialisasi wakaf maka kedepannya saat akad wakaf dilakukan antara wa<qif dan BMT hendaknya tertera bahwa pihak BMT adalah na<z}ir, dan ketika pentasarufan bagi hasil dari wakaf uang dilakukan, maka pihak BMT NU Ngasem Jawa Timur harus menjelaskan kepada mauqu<f ‘alaih kedudukan wa<qif, na<z}ir, serta mauqu<f bih-nya. Saran dan rekomendasi dari penelitian ini kepada masyarakat agar cermat memilih produk simpanan. Kepada peneliti dan akademisi penelitian produk di LKS yang dirasa unik perlu diadakan penelitian lebih lanjut agar dapat dijadikan bahan rujukan ilmu Hukum Ekonomi Syariah

Use of self-medication among adolescents: a systematic review and meta-analysis
No full textBackground: We performed a systematic review and proportion meta-analysis in order to investigate the
prevalence and the adverse effects of the self-medication among the teenagers. Methods: We selected observational
studies published from January 1990 until January 2014 that examined the use of self-medication in the
adolescents (aged from 13 to 18 years). Keywords used on PubMed, ISI Web of Knowledge and Scopus were ‘self
medication’, ‘adolescent*’, ‘self prescription’, ‘over the counter preparations’ and ‘self administration’. Results:
Finally, 15 articles met the inclusion criteria, for a total of 143 213 subjects involved. Overall, 50% of adolescents
use to take drugs without consulting a physician. Further analyses stratified by number of drugs used
demonstrated that in the studies reporting that adolescents use more than one type of drug the prevalence
rises up to 63%. Only one study reported the possible adverse effects related to the inappropriate use of
drugs, which were experienced by 31.1% of the females and 19.6% of the males. Conclusions: Self-medication
use among adolescents is a widespread phenomenon. It would be advisable to give more attention on this public
health concern and to promote initiatives, such as mass media campaigns and governmental actions, in order to
make the citizens more aware to the risks related to the consumption of drugs without medical consultation.
Further studies on adverse effects are urgently needed

Kennedy sent a telegram to the citizens of Roosevelt, New Jersey, apologizing for not being able to attend the memorial dedication in honor of former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. (Jersey Homesteads became Roosevelt in 1945 in honor of the president.) President Kennedy expressed his gratitude to the people of Roosevelt for constructing the memorial, and commented that it will serve as a constant reminder of Roosevelt's good works
Logarithmic variance profiles and the corresponding f-1 spectra of temperature fluctuations in turbulent Rayleigh-Bénard convection
No full textWe report experimental results for the temperature variance 2(z) and the corresponding frequency spectra P(f) in turbulent Rayleigh-Bénard convection (RBC) in a cylindrical sample of aspect ratioT= D/L = 1:00 (D = 1:12 m is the diameter and L = 1:12 m the height). The measurements were conducted in the Rayleigh-number range 1011 < Ra < 1:35 1014 and Pr ' 0:8. For Ra = 1:35x1014, 2(z) could be described well by a logarithmic dependence on the vertical position z in a range of z 1 < z < z 2 with z 1 ' 70 and z 2 = 0:1L. Here L=(2Nu) is the thickness of a thin thermal sublayer adjacent to the horizontal plate where the heat flux (denoted by the Nusselt number Nu) is carried mostly by thermal diffusion. In the log layer, we found that the temperature spectra had a significant frequency range over which P(f) f with close to 1. As Ra decreased, increased so that the log layer became thinner. At Ra = 2:05 1011, z 2 < z 1 and therefore there was no range for a log layer. Correspondingly, the temperature spectrum near the horizontal plate did not have the f1 scaling form either
