Kutsu Karjasi Koolle: Karjaperinteestä
Karjankutsunta eli kyylaus on osa suomalaista kansanmusiikkia. Opin savolaisen karjankutsumahuudon mummoltani Elsa Marialta. Kyylaus on muinainen äänenkäytön tekniikka ajalta ennen kuin laitumet aidattiin. Lehmiä on kutsuttu metsälaitumilta, ahoilta lypsylle kyylaamalla. Karjaan kohdistuvaan huhuiluun liittyy omaperäisellä tekniikalla esitettyjä tehosteita. Sen ominaisuuksia ovat efektit, voimakkaat huutomaiset äänet. Sävyltään se on terävää ja metallista. Kutsut ovat sisältäneet runsaasti erilaisia tyylipiirteitä. Juuri musiikillisesti rikkaat, runsaasti ornamentteja eli koristeita sisältävät kutsut ovat Pohjolan vanhinta ja kehittyneintä työmusiikkia. Singnaalit laulettiin ja kaiku kiiri yli metsämaan. Siitä on syntynyt oma musiikin lajinsa. Oma taiteensa, joka on tehnyt minuun suuren vaikutuksen.
Työmuodoksi päädyin valitsemaan monimuoto-opinnäytetyön tausta-ajatuksena portfolio eli ansiokansio. Portfoliossa pohditaan omaa osaamista ja teoreettisesti jäsennellään omaa luovaa toimintaa.
Tavoitteena oli tallentaa savolaista karjankutsuntaa eli kyylausta ja lehmilauluja digitaaliseen muotoon esteettisesti ottaen huomioon kokonaisuuden ja pyrkien hienoon taiteelliseen vaikutelmaan kaikki yksityiskohdat pyrittiin ottamaan huomioon. Videot kuvattiin Keski-Suomen museossa Pienmäessä, Ruokoharjun- ja Hyyrysen tiloilla. Aineisto editoitiin ja miksattiin Jamkin musiikkikampuksen studiossa. Kuvauksista syntyi kuusi videota.
Aineistosta voidaan luoda erilaisia esityskokonaisuuksia. Sitä voidaan käyttää esimerkiksi opetuksessa.Calling cattle is a part of Finnish folk music. I learned to call cattle with Savolax herd-calling from my grandmother Elsa Maria. Kyylaus is an ancient Finnish high pitch voice technique which was used to call home the cows when they walked around free in unfenced pastures.
The cows were called from the forest pastures and the open fields to be milked. The calling of the herd involves effects performed with a unique technique. Its features include effects, strong shouting sounds. It is sharp and metallic in tone. The callings have included a wide variety of different styles. The musically rich, richly ornamented or ornamental cattle callings are the oldest and most advanced work music in the Nordic region. The signals were sang and the echo wandered over the woodlands. It has created its own music genre, it`s own art, which has impressed me deeply.
As a form of work, Portofio was chosen as the form of this study. In it I reflect on my own skills and theoretically outline my own creativity.
The aim was to record Savolax cattle calling, i.e. kyylaus and cow songs in a digital form aesthetically, taking into account the whole entity and striving for a fine artistic impression with all the details. It was filmed at the Museum of Central Finland in Pienmäki and farms Ruokoharju and Hyyrynen. The material was edited and mixed at the music campus of JAMK University of Applied Sciences.
Six videos were created. They can be used in different kind of performances. The objective was also to build a knowledgeable professional identity for the author as an artist.6 videota1
LINE-1 hypomethylation in familial and sporadic cancer
Increased and decreased methylation at specific sequences (hypermethylation and hypomethylation, respectively) is characteristic of tumor DNA compared to normal DNA and promotes carcinogenesis in multiple ways including genomic instability. Long interspersed element (LINE), an abundant class of retrotransposons, provides a surrogate marker for global hypomethylation. We developed methylationspecific multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification assays to study LINE-1 methylation in cases of colorectal, gastric, and endometrial cancer (N0276), stratified by patient category [sporadic; Lynch syndrome (LS); familial colorectal cancer type X (FCCX)] and microsatellite instability status. Within each patient group, LINE-1 showed lower methylation in tumor DNA relative to paired normal DNA and hypomethylation was statistically significant in most cases. Interestingly, normal colorectal mucosa samples from different patient groups displayed differences in LINE-1 methylation that mirrored differences between the respective tumor tissues, with a decreasing trend for LINE-1 methylation from patients with sporadic colorectal cancer to LS to FCCX. Despite the fact that the degree of LINE-1 methylation is generally tissue specific, normal colorectal mucosa, gastric mucosa, and endometrium from LS patients showed similar levels of LINE-1 methylation. Our results suggest that the degree of LINE-1 methylation may constitute a "field defect" that may predispose normal tissues for cancer development. © The Author(s) 2012.Fil: Pavicic, Walter Hernan.

The progress and outcomes of black and minority ethnic (BME) nurses through the Nursing and Midwifery Council's "Fitness to Practise" process: Final report
BACKGROUND
This is the first investigation of the relationship between ethnicity and regulation of the nursing profession conducted internationally. The study was commissioned by the Nursing and Midwifery Council which is the regulator of the professions in the UK.
AIMS OF THE STUDY
“To establish whether the progress and outcomes of Black and minority ethnic (BME) nurses in relation to fitness to practice, from the point of referral to the point of case closure, is different from that of White nurses and midwives (N&M); and whether we can from the data account for any differences identified” (Call for research, NMC 2015). The study was designed to investigate whether BME N&M nurses are more likely to be referred and whether they were more likely to progress through the stages of the Fitness to Practise (FtP) process (screening, investigation or adjudication) and whether they were more likely to receive a severe penalty at the end of the process.
DATA
The NMC made available a copy of the register which had socio-demographic information on 681,258 nurses and midwives between April 2012 and December 2014 as well as data on referrals from April 2012 to December 2014 which totalled 5,851. Over that period the total number of cases that went to adjudication was 946.
VARIABLES
The main independent variable is ethnicity which we divided into Black, Asian, White, Other and Unknown. The latter category accounted for 40% of all referrals. The outcomes studied were rates of referral, the imposition of interim orders (where the referred individual is not allowed to work, progression through screening, investigation, adjudication and final outcome, which was dichotomised into “can work” or “cannot work”. The regression models also controlled for: age, gender, source of referral (9 categories), region of qualification (Africa, Asia, Europe, Other, UK), country of referral (4 counties of the UK) and whether or not the individual referred had a representative, such as a Union.
METHODS OF ANALYSIS
Descriptive statistics, cross-tabulation analysis, logistic regression and ordinal logistic regression
FINDINGS
Descriptive statistics showed that BME nurses are more likely to be referred than white nurses and to progress through the FtP process. Having trained in Africa is also a risk factor for referral. Older N&M and males are more likely to be referred. Most referrals come from employers but members of the public are also an important source of referral. Inferential statistics show that relative to Whites, being Asian, Black or of Unknown ethnicity is associated with progressing through FtP process. However, when “source of referral” is entered into the regression model only the “Unknown ethnicity” category remains significantly more likely to progress than White N&M. Males are more likely to progress through the FtP process but age, though positive, is not significant. There were few significant differences among the countries of the UK. The imposition of interim orders did not vary by ethnicity. The presence of a representative seems to reflect the stage of the FtP process rather than being a factor that contributes to the outcome. Finally, at adjudication, being Asian or Black is associated with a less severe penalty than White. Only those of Unknown ethnicity are more likely than Whites to get a severe penalty. These results are not altered by controlling for the source of referral.
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES OF THE STUDY
The strengths include: the fact that this is the first study of its kind, the datasets analysed are large and the statistics are appropriate. Weakness include the fact that in 40% cases the ethnicity of the referred individual is not known. Some of the registered N&M may not be working which means that their risk of being referred to the NMC is low which could be a threat to the comparison of different ethnic groups. The administrative data which we analysed did not provide information about the specialty (e.g. mental health, maternity), job setting (care home, acute hospital) or level of seniority (staff nurse or Director of Nursing of the individuals referred were not amenable to analysis.
RECOMMENDATIONS
The analysis reported here could be enhanced in the future if the information on ethnicity, the setting in which the referred individual is working and their grade is made available. Some jobs may simply carry a higher risk of referral to the NMC and BME nurses may disproportionately occupy those positions. The main finding, which is that the relationship between ethnicity and FtP is mediated by referral by the employer, directs our attention to the need for further research to understand how the working environment leads to an over-representation of BME nurses in the FtP process. Within the NMC, further research needs to be conducted to understand why White nurses are more likely to be given a severe penalty at adjudication even though they are underrepresented in referrals and less likely to progress through the process. With the introduction of the NMC code and revalidation, the collection of data by the NMC and the FtP process will undoubtedly change. At the same time, the NHS has introduced policies to directly affect the working environment of BME nurses and midwives. This means that this study should be repeated to take account of these changes in the wider environment

Publisher Copyright: © 2021 The Author(s)In copper electrorefining and electrowinning, the conductivity and viscosity of the electrolyte affect the energy consumption, and for electrorefining the purity of cathode copper. Consequently, accurate models for predicting these properties are highly important. Although the modeling of conductivity and viscosity of synthetic copper electrolytes has been previously studied, only a few models have been validated with actual industrial electrolytes. The conductivity and viscosity models outlined in this study were developed using conductivity and viscosity measurements from both synthetic and industrial solutions. The synthetic electrolytes were investigated over a temperature range between 50–70 °C and typical concentrations of Cu (40–90 g/dm3), Ni (0–30 g/dm3), Fe (0–10 g/dm3), Co (0–5 g/dm3), As (0–63.8 g/dm3), H2SO4 (50–223 g/dm3) as well as other solution impurities like Sb in some cases. Validation of the synthetic electrolyte models was performed through industrial measurements at three copper plants across Europe. Generally, the developed models predicted the conductivities and viscosities of industrial solutions with high accuracy. The viscosity models covered extended ranges of both [H2SO4] and [Cu] with percentage errors of only (2.08 ± 0.59) - (2.48 ± 0.61). For conductivity, two different models for low (142 g/dm3) [H2SO4] electrolytes were utilized. Their error margins were (−1.96 ± 0.84) - (−1.44 ± 0.35) and (1.17 ± 0.27) - (2.52 ± 0.28), respectively. In the case of high [H2SO4] electrolytes, the validations focused on conductivity, and the highest level of accuracy was obtained when the effects of Sb and other minor impurities were considered.Peer reviewe
Toivo paranemisesta: nuoren naisen päihdetarinan rakentuminen haastattelussa
This article focuses on personal experience narration about drug abuse and treatment. The material was elicited from a life-story interview with a young woman called Hannele, who was in substitution treatment meant for opioid users. The approach is material-based: the author has constructed Hannele’s ”drug-story” and compared it with the institutional model narrative about recovery from drug problems. Hereby the author has been influenced by the folkloristic study of personal experience narratives and social scientific research on narratives. The model narrative is commonly known in treatment systems, and it tells us how it is possible to cope with drug problems and return to normal life. The hero of the story is a humble recipient of help and professional treatment, who aims to change his or her lifestyle completely and become fully abstinent. Hannele’s story describes how she started using cannabis, then amphetamine and heroine and how she stopped using them without any professional help. Then the story continues with buprenorphine (Subutex) use, which caused problems and made her apply for treatment. Hannele as the hero of the story is a self-motivated and even obstinate client who defines her treatment goals independently. Her story is a so-called ”short-step story” challenging the traditional model story and its requirement for complete abstinence and a comprehensive change of lifestyle and identity. This article focuses on personal experience narration about drug abuse and treatment. The intersection of learning difficulties and behavior problems – a scoping review of intervention research
Learning difficulties (LDif) and behavioral problems (BP) frequently co-occur. Affected students typically require interventions targeting learning-, social-, as well as emotional and behavioral-domains. The goal of this scoping review is therefore to provide an overview of the research on interventions that target these critical areas for students with or at-risk of disabilities. In total, 48 relevant studies were identified and analyzed regarding addressed competencies, target groups, the setting of the interventions as well as underlying causal assumptions. The review identified a variety of interventions and approaches designed to address LDif and BP, which makes it impossible to draw conclusions on a single best approach. Co-occurring LDif and BP reflect a plurality of difficulties that are incompatible with a ‘one size fits all’ approach. The vast majority of studies assumed that the relationship between LDif and BP are reciprocal/unidirectional. Few studies focused common variables that potentially affect both LDif and BP. In addition, the majority of studies addressed child-level variables. Future research should be conducted to focus on variables at the environmental or institutional level that might impact both LDif and BP
