Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia de Produção.Esta pesquisa objetivou analisar a contribuição dada pelas ferramentas de TI para a modernização da gestão do negócio, do conhecimento e da aprendizagem organizacional no contexto das cooperativas de trabalho médico UNIMEDS. Tal objetivo evidencia o tipo de pesquisa realizada, que se caracteriza como sendo descritiva, cujo meio de investigação empregado foi o estudo de caso. Inicia-se com a fundamentação teórica, onde é abordada a tecnologia da informação, caracterizando-se a informação como recurso gerencial, nesta perspectiva. Também é contemplada a gestão do conhecimento, bem como a aprendizagem organizacional. A análise da contribuição dada pelas ferramentas de TI para a gestão do negócio, do conhecimento e da aprendizagem organizacional, foi realizada pelo estudo de caso, na Unimed de Belo Horizonte. A análise se deu a partir de um conjunto de variáveis, que caracterizam um ambiente de gestão do conhecimento, de acordo com a literatura analisada. Estas variáveis abrangeram, na Unimed de Belo Horizonte, o ambiente da informação, a estrutura organizacional, o capital intelectual, como ativo intangível e a prática do compartilhamento do conhecimento. O levantamento de dados, para a realização da pesquisa, foi realizado com base em uma pesquisa documental, sobre os registros internos da Unimed de Belo Horizonte, e de entrevistas com uma amostra de colaboradores, que se inseriam no período de tempo, adotado como critério. Tanto a amostra documental, quanto as entrevistas, foram agrupadas em torno das variáveis, criando extratos para a análise dos resultados. Baseados nestes extratos, os resultados da pesquisa mostraram, que as ferramentas de TI foram importantes para a evolução dos métodos de gestão do negócio da empresa. Constatou-se, também, que as ferramentas de TI constituem-se em importante instrumento a ser considerado na gestão do conhecimento e da aprendizagem organizacional no contexto da Unimed de Belo Horizonte
