Strategic Management Application into the Small and Medium businesses in Kosovo
Similar to majority of places around the globe that operate on part on free markets, Kosovo’s small and medium sized firms and companies struggle to catch up with close competition and against big companies on the other hand, though. Awareness of business people about the fast shifting and quick changes into the market made plenty of owners/entrepreneurs having different view of market they operate, particularly traditional trades which small and medium businesses are part of. The new perspective comprises the need for changes aiming moving personal firm towards cutting edge trends led by contemporary costumers’ tastes, demands and wishes. Fast shifting trends compel businesses insofar as they are required to deeply analyze and indentify both internal and external factors in order to survive and prevail as main objective. Based upon the choice they make, trades may decide staying small and earning big or growing and earning big too; therefore, every single business inescapably ought to find a strategy since merely luck isn’t enough to be relied urging for success. Not two markets can use the single strategy bearing numerous differentiations as in size, demography or economy. Coping with numerous issues business vendors should move forward and equip themselves with useful traits of sharp minded entrepreneurs, adaptive marketing managers, financially smart, long term forecasters, precise predictive and technologically savvy as common mandatory qualities succeeding in a complex market surroundings. Thought, kit of functional traits must be reckoned as proper solution for strategic managing operations of business an aim for long term achievements
The Impact of Social Media on the Development of Women Especially in Transition States
The main goal of this paper was to highlight the importance of social media in the development of women entrepreneurs in the state of Kosovo, where the number of women entrepreneurs is increasing every day. In this research, two objectives are presented: to analyze the influence of social media on women's entrepreneurship in the case of Kosovo and to measure the impact of social media usage on sales of women's entrepreneurship in the case of Kosovo. To realize this empirical research, a questionnaire containing 25 questions was used, and 750 women entrepreneurs answered this questionnaire over a period of 5 months. The results of the analysis are presented through descriptive analysis, Pearson correlation, and the OLS model. The results of this research show that social media has a positive effect on increasing sales in women-led businesses; they have easier access to communication. Also, the results indicate that these media have a positive impact on increasing the audience as well as reducing expenses during the marketing campaign. Based on the presented results, it is stated that social media is the primary influencer in the development of women's entrepreneurship, and these findings are nearly similar to the results of research conducted by authors from various countries. Remittance incomes and economic development in Kosovo
In globalism period, when the migration of the population is informal, migration and remittances have played an extraordinary important role on the socio-economy development of the country. Participants in this paper were 350 companies. The paper results are presented through descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, and regression. Based on the results of this paper, we can say that Kosovar companies through social media establish relationships with their customers and keep them informed, which also greatly influences the development of new products, as well as organizational performance. Also what is noticed in this paper is the enterprises have managed to improve the quality of products through the study of customer feedback. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Impact of small and medium enterprises in generating new jobs in case of Kosovo
This study is an original study and adds to the research debate on the impact of small and medium enterprises in generating new jobs, with a special focus on the industry and services sector, as in Kosovo for these sectors still do not there has been special research. The objective of this research paper is presents the impacts of small and medium enterprises have in generating new jobs. To achieve the stated objective and to prove the hypotheses in this research, the OLS regression model has been used whereas the data processing has been done through Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). This research paper has been conducted by using secondary data collected by the World Bank and Kosovo Agency of Statistics. The data are presented for the time period 2012-2018. Results in this research paper from this model show that the industry and services sector affects generating new jobs in Kosovo, therefore there is a positive correlation between the presented variables. Also we can notice a positive correlation between the GDP and employment rate. The results presented in this research paper can be used as a guide for new businesses in the services and industry sector and their impact on the generation of new jobs in Kosovo, as well as efforts to further improve performance in these sectors
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
