Oktay Arayıcı'nın oyunlarında ironi çeşitlemesi
Cataloged from PDF version of article.Oktay Arayıcı, who is one of the important playwrights of the Turkish Theatre,
makes use of the defamiliarism method of Epic theatre and Traditional theatre in his
plays. If we study the use of this method of defamiliarism in his plays entitled Bir
Ölümün Toplumsal Anatomisi, Seferi Ramazan Bey’in Nafile Dünyası, Rumuz
Goncagül and Tanilli Dosyası (Geçit), we find out that he utilizes Epic Theatre’s
characteristics to attract attention to his message and he employs Traditional
theatre’s characteristics to enrich his narration. We can say that Oktay Arayıcı has
his own ironic point of view. The playwright’s approach to the play, the actors’
approach to their roles and the audience’s approach to the play create a sort of
irony. Oktay Arayıcı conveys serious and clear messages in his plays. In addition,
his approach is tolerant and humane. In his plays, his criticism is relevant to social
problems. The heroes of the plays can be tolerant and we may think that it is the
humane weakness. Therefore, we can assert that the author has an understanding
of irony that is humorous and tolerant. In Epic theatre the message is taken very
seriously. The players convey a message that is serious and clear. On the other
hand, Traditional theatre approaches life humorously and players create the irony.
In Oktay Arayıcı’s plays, the audiences are usually in an ironic position in which
they are neither fully aware nor fully unaware of what is happening. They might
receive the message or not. They may hesitate or content theirselves with
perceiving the play. This situation causes a different ironic situation in each of his
plays. Oktay Arayıcı has a different understanding of irony in his plays. In addition
he has some characteristics similar to his contemporaries in terms of his a different

Turkic World as to the Letters of an Emigrant Uzbek Turk - Abdülvahap Oktay and His Letters
Since the late 19th century, especially after both the world wars and Russian Revolution, Turkestanis and other Turks in Russia emigrated to Turkey, the Middle East, Europe, and the Far East for various reasons. They organized their own communities and kept in touch with each other. This paper focuses on the activities of Abdülvahap Oktay, a Turkestani (or Uzbek) émigré during the 1940s and 1950s. Oktay was educated in Germany and his importance among Turkestani émigrés was maintained even after his emigration to Turkey. The correspondence between Oktay and his friends/colleagues, which was incidentally found by this author, illustrates his contacts within and outside the community. Oktay’s publication is one of the subjects. For example, a Turkestani emigrant to Adana mentioned in his letter the journal Türkistan (1953), with which Oktay engaged. Another important subject is the last days of Ayaz Đshaki, who was leader of the Volga-Ural Turks and passed away in July, 1954. One letter explains the process of electing a new leader. This letter also describes the international anti-Soviet meetings in Munich, in which Oktay participated as a Turkestani delegate in 1958. According to a letter to his wife and colleague, Oktay kept in touch with Americans in the Turkish Front in accordance with émigré organizations in Idil-Ural, Azerbaijan, among others. In addition, we read about situations of Turks in Finland in letters from his old friends. Although Oktay’s correspondence tells us about the “Turkic World” of émigrés, some struggles existed within their communities
Poly(ethylene glycol)/Polyvinyl chloride Composite Form‐Stable Phase‐Change Materials by the Azide‐Alkyne Click Reaction
Thermal energy storage has become a key area in modern technology. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is known to be an extremely effective solid-liquid phase change material (PCM). For efficient energy storage, alternative liquid-solid PCMs without encapsulation were designed. In particular, a series of PCMs, comprising PEG-stearate and PEG-stearate-Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), were prepared by the azide-alkyne cycloaddition click reaction. The click reactions of azido-PEG, azido-PVC, and alkynyl stearate were carried out. The prepared polymers, PEG-stearate and PEG-stearate-PVC PCMs were characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) spectroscopy. The latent heat and thermal stability of PCMs were investigated by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA). DSC results revealed that PCMs exhibit latent heat values ranging from 80 to 104 J/g at -2 and 46 degrees C. In addition, PCMs exhibited high thermal stability with the increase in the content of PVC
