Full text linkIl rinnovamento degli studi su base interdisciplinare, al quale abbiamo assistito a partire dagli anni Novanta, ha comportato la decostruzione del discorso stesso della ‘questione meridionale’, intesa come dispositivo di strutturazione di una o più rappresentazioni. Affrontare un’analisi dello stratificato immaginario relativo al Sud Italia e alle forme nelle quali le sue rappresentazioni stereotipiche vengono rimodulate nella contemporaneità mette dinanzi a un problema complesso e sfaccettato, che qui si analizza a partire dal caso del Commissario Montalbano di Andrea Camilleri. In particolare, si indagano le modalità con le quali la serie presenta i valori e la cultura del sud, che avrebbe preservati inalterati alcuni tratti nel tempo, come valori universali e oggi potenzialmente riattivabili in funzione esemplare ed esemplificativa di una relazione virtuosa tra le dimensioni locale, nazionale e sovranazionale

No full textLa letteratura contemporanea si colloca sotto il segno della pluralità: pluralità di pratiche testuali, alle quali corrisponde un irriducibile "politeismo" (Weber) delle poetiche, ma anche pluralità di metodi interpretativi. La collana Punti di vista si propone di dare spazio a una molteplicità di prospettive critiche, applicate alla letteratura italiana contemporanea, ma anche di recuperare testi importanti e non più reperibili. Il riferimento programmatico alla polifonia delle voci vuole essere garanzia di apertura metodologica, ma a partire dalla ferma convinzione che "l'opera d'arte è satura di valori" (Mukarovskí), e che dunque le forme del testo, nella loro complessità, chiamano sempre in causa prospettive sul mondo e scelte di vita. Prendendo le mosse dalle modificazioni intervenute già a partire dagli anni Ottanta, il contributo indaga in uno dei percorsi meno indagati: quello che si origina dalla collaborazione tra romanzieri e fumettisti e che spesso si inscrive sotto il segno del noir. Full text linkThis essay analyses the character of Montalbano as a critical object that includes a narrative figure constructed through a series of novels and a television series. It examines the strategies that the writer (of the novels) and the scriptwriters (of the TV series) employ in order to attract readers and spectators to Montalbano. These strategies employ stereotypes connected to the Mediterranean landscape, and this strategy emphasises the ethical characteristics of the protagonist while making the Mediterranean landscape an essential ‘character’ of the story. In this way the novelist Andrea Camilleri introduces an important variable in the traditional detective story: he does not modify its salient features, but he gives less importance to the typical logic of the plot, thus enabling the readers to enjoy and appreciate a narrative very different from the common codes of consumer narratives and serialities
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
NEW DATA FROM BACCINELLO V0 (GROSSETO, TUSCANY), THE OLDEST ASSEMBLAGE OF THE ENDEMIC TUSCO-SARDINIAN LATE MIOCENE VERTEBRATE FAUNA.
No full textThe Late Miocene endemic vertebrate assemblage of Baccinello V0 is the oldest vertebrate fauna within the Baccinello-Cinigiano basin succession in southern Tuscany (Benvenuti et al., 2001; Rook et al, 2011). The BC Basin is celebrated for recording vertebrate assemblages that yielded the youngest European Miocene Hominoid, Oreopithecus bambolii (Casanovas Villar et al., 2011). The faunal assemblages are known and described since 1960’s (de Terra, 1954; Lorenz,1968; Hurzeler & Engesser, 1976).
The so-called V0 assemblage, mainly made up by small mammals, was discovered by researchers of the Basel Naturhistorisches Museum and partially described by Engesser (1989), who described the murid remains. According to the latter author the Bacciello V0 faunal list includes: Huerzelerimys vireti, Anthracoglis marinoi, Paludotona sp., Chiroptera indet., Soricidae indet., and Tyrrhenotragus sp.
A reconnaissance along the Trasubbie river by the authors was made in June-July 2013 within the framework of a project aiming to acquire a better knowledge of the geology of the BC Basin and the vertebrate fossil record of the Late Miocene of southern Tuscany. The exposure conditions allowed us to investigate the sedimentary succession outcropping along the small creek Fosso della Fittaia and to individuate the V0 fossiliferous level that was intensely sampled for screen washing.
The sample yielded a number of fossil remains that will allow improving our documentation of the Baccinello V0 assemblage. In addition to the already recognized Huerzelerimys vireti, and Anthracoglis marinoi, a few dental remains permit identifying the occurrence of a giant dormouse (possibly Gliridae nov. gen. et nov. sp. from Baccinello V1 described by Engesser in 1983). Worth noting the occurrence in the new sample of two mandibles of Soricidae indet., as well as of several elements of the Herpetofauna (Anura indet., Lacertidae indet., Anguidae indet., Serpentes indet., Testudinae indet)

No full textTrier, characterized by the presence of numerous UNESCO World Heritage monuments, was considered by Oswald Mathias Ungers as his adoptive city. Here, the author had the opportunity to realise three build-ings that engage with the city’s historical heritage. The project for the redevelopment of Konstantinplatz, in front of the Basilica (1981-83), the Museum of the Thermen am Forum (1988-1996), and the entrance to the Kaiserthermen (2003-2007) are works that engage with the city’s historical legacy, making them exemplary witnesses of the relationship between architectural forms, history, and place. The paper proposes an interpre-tation of the works that not only aims to identify their characteristics and their relationship with history, but also and above all seeks to investigate the system of relationships that links Ungers to Trier. For this investi-gation, the author’s projects embody the value of a paradigm that outlines a possible contemporary attitude towards history in architectural design
