Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Cultura jurídica e transição entre Colônia e Império
Get PDFResumo: A Ouvidoria de Paranaguá e Curitiba era considerada periférica dentro dos estudos tradicionais de História do Direito, sendo assim inexistiria dentro dessa região a presença da cultura letrada ou de seus valores devido a distância e ignorância dos oficiais ditos rústicos. Através da análise da produção processual de tal órgão, e com a análise do discurso e dos materiais ali utilizados demonstra-se que a cultura jurídica letrada circulava na região inclusive mediada por personagens considerados rústicos, como os rábulas e as partes processuais. O período de transição entre a colônia e o império permite ainda visualizar com maior precisão tal processo. A partir de novos referenciais da História do Direito e através de exaustiva pesquisa em fontes primárias, foi possível perceber que a própria divisão entre letrados e rústicos parece não subsistir no contexto analisado. A pesquisa aborda ainda a recepção da Independência Brasileira na região, em especial enfocando a presença de novos estatutos jurídicos. Além disso, descreve os livros utilizados no período, em especial os jurídicos citados nos processos judiciais. E por fim, a partir de relatos de casos encontrados, demonstra-se a dinâmica das relações entre os diversos agentes da Ouvidoria. Conclui-se que os conceitos utilizados para descrever o período, como rústicos e letrados ou espaço de fronteira, não condizem com o encontrado nas fontes, e que a cultura jurídica local era mais complexa e inserida do que se pressupunha
Assessoria jurídica universitária popular : da utopia estudantil à ação política

Para a construção desse diálogo, propõe-se um proposta de extenção uiniversitária inovadora pautada nas teorizações de três grandes autores marxistas. Inauguram-se as reflexões com as idéias políticas de Antonio Gramsci, em seguida, aprecia-se a pedagogia do oprimido de Paulo Freire e, por fim, a teoria dialética do Direito de Roberto Lyra Filho. Essas teorizações fundamentam a cidadania e a paticipação popular como base para o desenvolvimento de um estratégia pedagógica para a consecução de direitos. Logo, é possível relacionar duas propostas ideais de extensão universitária, denominadas "Assecoria Jurídica" (a inovadora). Entretanto, seu significado variou durante o tempo (nacionalismo, patriotismo, civilidade, conhecimento dos direitos, etc) e atualmente torna-se cada vez mais diverso. Na escola estão presente vários significados da palavra cidadania que fazem com que o objetivo da educação para o exercício da cidadania no Ensino de História possa ser interpretado de diversos pontos de vista, mesmo quando se utiliza a mesma palavra para indicá-lo. Nesse sentido, objetivou-se compreender quais são os significados de cidadania usados por professores e alunos de 4º ciclo do ensino fundamental da rede municipal de ensino de Araucária-PR, partindo-se, portanto, da reconstrução de um caso, a fim de entender os conceitos dados a cidadania na cultura escolar e sua dinâmica de significação. A escolha desse município foi motivada pela existência de um grupo de professores de História organizado na rede municipal de ensino buscando, a partir da formação continuada e da pesquisa em colaboração, desenvolver o seu ofício. Utilizam-se nessa reconstituição de caso da pesquisa qualitativa e das técnicas de questionário e entrevista, buscando os significados do objetivo 'educar para a cidadania' no espaço onde eles têm efetividade, ou seja, na cultura presente na escola. Utiliza-se como pressupostos teóricos a perspectiva de Educação histórica desenvolvida por Jörn Rüsen, Isabel Barca e Peter Lee, bem como do conceito analítico de cultura de Raymond Williams. Além disso, questiona-se o conceito tradicional de cidadania de T. H. Marshall, buscando novos rumos da cidadania em autores contemporâneos como Claude Lefort, Will Kymlicka, Hannah Arendt e Alain Touraine. Chega-se ao conceito operacional de cidadania como: a experiência política humana em sociedades democráticas, em constante confronto com a cultura política do período. Esse conflito entre a experiência política vivida e a cultura ampla detém dinâmicas específicas em cada espaço social, nesse caso específico na escola. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam que os alunos interpretam a cidadania a partir de laços de sociabilidade, sentido que difere dos objetivos apresentados pelos professores de conceber a cidadania a partir da relação de participação social para obtenção de direitos. Conclui-se que experiências inovadoras na orientação para a vida prática na política, através do ensino de História, devem pautar-se no entendimento das relações dos indivíduos com o Estado e não apenas em ações de sociabilidade.Abstract: The objective 'to educate for the citizenship' it is associated commonly to the teaching of History. However, its meaning varied during the time (nationalism, patriotism, civility, knowledge of the rights, etc) and now its becomes more and more several. In the school they are several present meanings of the word citizenship that do with that the objective of the education for the exercise of the citizenship in the Teaching of History can be interpreted of several point of view, same when the same word is used to indicate it. In that sense, it was aimed at to understand which are the citizenship meanings used by teachers and students of 4th cycle of the fundamental teaching of the municipal net of teaching of Araucaria-PR, breaking, therefore, of the reconstruction of a case, in order to understand the given concepts the citizenship in the school culture and its significance dynamics. The choice of that municipal district was motivated by the existence of a group of teachers of History organized in the municipal net of teaching looking for, starting from the continuous formation and of the research in collaboration, to develop their occupation. They are used in that rebuilding of case of the qualitative research and of the questionnaire techniques and interview, looking for the meanings of the objective 'to educate for the citizenship' in the space where they have effectiveness, in other words, in the present culture in the school. It is used as presupposed theoretical the perspective of historical Education developed by Jörn Rüsen, Isabel Barca and Peter Lee, as well as of the analytical concept of culture of Raymond Williams. Besides, the traditional concept of citizenship of T. H. Marshall is questioned, looking for new directions of the citizenship in contemporary authors like Claude Lefort, Will Kymlicka, Hannah Arendt and Alain Touraine. It is arrived to the operational concept of citizenship as: the human political experience in democratic societies, in constant confrontation with the political culture of the period. That conflict between the lived political experience and the wide culture stops specific dynamics in each social space, in that specific case in the school. The results of the research point that the students interpret the citizenship starting from bows of sociability, sense that differs of the objectives presented by the teachers of conceiving the citizenship starting from the relationship of social participation for obtaining of rights. It is ended that innovative experiences in the orientation for the practical life in the politics, through the teaching of History, they should be ruled in the understanding of the individuals' relationships with the State and not just in sociability actions
