Designing the fog:towards an intranet of things
\u3cp\u3eThe Fog of Things, ubiquitous computing in local contexts, is a reality now. The Internet of Things has arrived, although users use and perceive it rather as Internet of Thing [sic!]. Data and information flows vertically, not horizontally through the connected Everyday and promises of convenience and quality of life are at the mercy of the viability of business models and the benevolence of multi-national commercial entities. This position paper poses that things and connectedness can also be re-thought; products and services can be designed differently: bottom-up and with stronger ideals in place. Systems of connected things can be understood as horizontal autonomous networks of nodes, Intranets, that do not or only seldom connect to external entities for the exchange of data. This paper explains how to conceptualize these systems, proposes the use of system properties to address new design challenges, and concludes with an outlook on future work.\u3c/p\u3

Field Lab Sleep and Energy:A System for Longitudinal Remote Sleep Tracking and Prototyping
There is both clinical and consumer interest in remote sleep tracking technologies. Sleep is interesting to be observed remotely, in a (smart) home environment. For longitudinal design research we needed to collect data for a longer period of time. Therefore, using the Data-Enabled Design process we built Field Lab Sleep and Energy. We conducted a user study for a period of one year using this system. Using the system the team could gather, store, process, visualize and analyze the incoming behavioral, experiential and contextual data. We built and embedded a communication platform in the system aiming to prototype human-IoT experiences. The RelaxBreathe program was one of these prototyped and tested human-IoT experiences. This positioning paper introduces Field Lab Sleep and Energy, the RelaxBreathe program case study and the findings of the team.</p

Die SUB Göttingen als Datenzentrum innerhalb der Task Area Collections im NFDI-Konsortium Text+
Poster des Text+ Partners Niedersächsische Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Göttingen präsentiert beim Workshop "Wohin damit? Storing and reusing my language data" am 22. Juni 2023 in Mannheim.
September 2022) in Mannheim vorgestellt.
In this article, we discuss the ways in which Digital Humanities projects organise their resources, and argue for the need to collaborate with specialised services from other institutions for specific tasks, just as research publishers do. More specifically, we argue that libraries have a new central role to play in the publication of research data in repositories. Using the TextGrid Repository (TGR) as an example, we present its main components, its history, its main features, and discuss its advantages and disadvantages in comparison with similar repositories and technologies. We then present its current development within the Text+ consortium, both in the form of new features but also in the integration of existing corpora, making it interesting not only for German literature (as has been the case until now), but also for other traditions, especially Spanish literature.
Paul Bourget, A committed writer, Yehoshua Mathias.
In the France of the early twentieth century, Paul Bourget's figure is that of a successful novelist who became gradually a «committed author». A monarchist, deeply conservative, passionate defender of religion and the family as the vital bases of the social order, he thus became the bard of the bourgeois ethic faced with the destabilization of modernity.Mathias Yehoshua. „Nature must be felt“ – Alexander von Humboldt, pioneer of an ecological worldview and protagonist of „transversal reason“
The text commemorates the 250th year of birth of Alexander von Humboldt, a thought leader for an ecological view of the world and an early protagonist of „transversal reason“. He is an indispensable source of ideas for the „new nature therapies“, for integrative therapy and for an ecological viewpoint in psychotherapy. Some important aspects of his thinking and work are shown from this perspective. He is a reference author for transversal and integrative conceptualization in our time.https://www.fpi-publikation.de/gruene-texte/17-2019-petzold-h-g-mathias-wiedemann-u-natur-muss-gefuehlt-werden-alexander-v-humboldt/peerReviewedpublishedVersio
