No full textCompartimos las interesantes imágenes de una asociación de alteraciones congénitas poco frecuente en nuestro medio:Paciente femenina de 43 años de edad con antecedentes de ser fumadora y de prolapso valvular mitral (PVM).Al realizarse el ecocardiograma se observó en modo bidimensional dilatación moderada del ventrículo izquierdo (VI) y de ambas aurículas, engrosamiento de ambas valvas mitrales, valva mitral posterior redundante con prolapso severo de sus segmentos P2 y P3, tabique interauricular (TIA) rechazado hacia la aurícula derecha (AD) con ausencia de ecogenicidad en su porción media y posterior que midió 16 mm. Con el Doppler color se observó turbulencia sistólica en aurícula izquierda (AI) que llegaba al techo de la misma, dirigida hacia el TIA, con efecto Coanda, dicha turbulencia atravesaba al TIA, observándose un shunt de izquierda a derecha. Se concluyó el estudio con el diagnóstico de insuficiencia valvular mitral severa por prolapso severo de valva mitral posterior y presencia de comunicación interauricular (CIA) tipo osteum secundum.Paciente do sexo feminino de 43 anos com uma história de ser um prolapso fumante e da válvula mitral (MVP), que foi internado com o diagnóstico de broncopneumonia bacteriana.Os dados relevantes no exame físico foram baixo peso corporal. Sistema cardiovascular: coração da ponta deslocado para a esquerda, a presença de emoção, coração rítmica sons, sopro mitral holossistólico, de alta intensidade, com irradiação para a mesocárdio e foco aórtico. Respiratório: diminuição geral sons de respiração, crepitações no terço inferior de ambos os pulmões. edema ligeiro nos membros inferiores.No ecocardiograma realizado foi observada em modo bidimensional dilatação moderada do ventrículo esquerdo (VE) e ambos os átrios, espessamento de ambos folhetos mitral, folheto mitral posterior redundante com grave P2 segmentos prolapso e P3, septo atrial (TIA) rejeitou a átrio direito (AD) com ausência do eco em sua porção média e traseira que mede 16 mm. Com a cor turbulência Doppler sistólica foi observada no átrio esquerdo (AI), que atingiu o telhado dele, de frente para o TIA, com efeito Coanda, tal turbulência cruzou a TIA, mostrando uma derivação da esquerda para a direita. O estudo concluiu com o diagnóstico de grave insuficiência mitral por prolapso da válvula mitral posterior grave e presença de comunicação interatrial (CIA) tipo osteum secundum.ASD é entre 10 e 15% de toda a doença cardíaca congênita e é o mais frequentemente atinge a idade adulta sem ser detectado. O PVM afecta aproximadamente 2% da população, embora na maioria dos casos parece isoladamente, pode estar associada com doenças do tecido conjuntivo hereditárias ou malformações congénitas, tais como o óstio secundum CIA.Patiente de 43 ans avec une histoire d'être un prolapsus fumeur et la valve mitrale (MVP), qui a été admis avec le diagnostic de bronchopneumonie bactérienne.Les données pertinentes sur l'examen physique étaient un faible poids corporel. Système cardiovasculaire: rythme cardiaque de la pointe décalée vers la gauche, la présence de sensations fortes, le cœur rythmique des sons, murmure mitral holosystolique, de haute intensité, irradiant à l'mésocarde et l'orientation de l'aorte. Respiratoire: globale diminution des bruits respiratoires, crépite dans le tiers inférieur des deux poumons. Léger œdème dans les membres inférieurs.A l'échocardiographie réalisée a été observée dans le mode bidimensionnel dilatation modérée du ventricule gauche (VG) et les deux oreillettes, un épaississement des deux feuillets mitrale, leaflet redondante mitrale postérieure avec des segments de prolapsus sévère P2 et P3, le septum auriculaire (AIT) a rejeté la oreillette droite (RA) avec absence de échogénicité dans sa partie médiane et arrière qui mesure 16 mm. Avec Doppler couleur systolique turbulence a été observée dans l'oreillette gauche (AI) qui a atteint le toit de celui-ci, face à la TIA, avec effet Coanda, ces turbulences a traversé la TIA, montrant un shunt de gauche à droite. L'étude a conclu avec le diagnostic d'une grave régurgitation mitrale par une grave prolapsus postérieure valve mitrale et la présence d'auriculaire défaut septal (ASD) Type osteum secundum.ASD est comprise entre 10 et 15% de toutes les maladies cardiaques congénitales et est le plus souvent atteint l'âge adulte sans être détecté. PVM touche environ 2% de la population, bien que dans la plupart des cas apparaît dans l'isolement, peut être associée à des troubles héréditaires du tissu conjonctif ou des malformations congénitales telles que l'ostium secundum CIA.Female patient 43 years old with a history of being a smoker and mitral valve prolapse (MVP), who was admitted with the diagnosis of bacterial bronchopneumonia.The relevant data on physical examination were low body weight. Slight edema in the lower limbs.At the echocardiogram performed was observed in two-dimensional mode moderate dilatation of the left ventricle (LV) and both atria, thickening of both mitral leaflets, leaflet redundant posterior mitral with severe prolapse segments P2 and P3, atrial septum (TIA) rejected to the right atrium (RA) with absence of echogenicity in its middle and rear portion which measured 16 mm. With color Doppler systolic turbulence was observed in the left atrium (AI) that reached the roof of it, facing the TIA, with Coanda effect, such turbulence crossed the TIA, showing a shunt from left to right. The study concluded with the diagnosis of severe mitral valve regurgitation by severe prolapse posterior mitral valve and presence of atrial septal defect (ASD) osteum secundum type.ASD is between 10 and 15% of all congenital heart disease and is the most frequently reaches adulthood without being detected. The PVM affects approximately 2% of the population, although in most cases appears in isolation, may be associated with hereditary connective tissue disorders or congenital malformations such as the CIA ostium secundum
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
