Ketut Diara Astawa, SH, M.Si (II) Dr. Nur Wahyu Rochmadi, M.Pd, M.Si Kata Kunci: Budaya, Lejong Tau, dan Mahasiswa Manggarai di Kota Malang, Fenomena perwujudan eksistensi manusia dalam suatu budaya sangat bervariasi antara individu atau sekelompok masyarakat yang satu dengan yang lainnya dan terjadi dalam tempat dan periode sejarah yang berlainan pula. Pada umumnya cara berpikir dan cara berprilaku dari individu atau sekelompok manusia merupakan hal yang paling menonjol yang selalu diwujudkan manusia melalui kebudayaan.Budaya lejong tau pada orang Manggarai adalah wujud dari rasa sosialitas manusia sebagai makhluk sosial dan berbudaya. Budaya ini yang pada akhirnya membentuk dan memberi rangsangan kesadaran akan hakekat manusia Manggarai sebagai makhluk sosial. Sebab manusia akan senantiasa ada bersama yang lain, dan sampai kapanpun manusia tak bisa berdiri sendiri tanpa kehadiran yang lain. Sadar akan sosialitas dirinya(manusia), akan membentuk pola pikir dan cara pandang yang positif terhadap yang lain di mana konsep tentang “Aku dan Kamu” adalah sama, karena sama-sama memiliki subjek Aku. Sehingga yang lain dapat disebut seperti dalam konsep seperti ini “Kamu adalah Aku yang Lain”, begitu juga sebaliknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) penerapan budaya lejong tau oleh mahasiswa Manggarai di kota Malang; (2) perwujudan budaya lejong tau yang ditampilakan oleh mahasiswa Manggarai di kota Malang; (3) nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam budaya lejong tau yang ditampilkan oleh mahasiswa Manggarai di kota Malang.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif,dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif.Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik wawancara dan observasi. Subyek penelitiannya adalah mahasiswa asal Manggarai yang berkuliah di Kota Malang. Kegiatananalisis data denganmenggunakan model analisis interaktif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data tersebut, diperoleh tiga temuan penelitian sebagai berikut; pertama, penerapan budaya lejong tau oleh mahasiswa Manggarai di kota Malang tampak dalam pembentukan sebuah organisasi. Organisasi itu adalah IKAMMA (Ikatan Mahasiswa Manggarai Malang) yang terdiri atas 4 (empat) perkumpulan kecil yang berlokasi sesuai dengan tempat tinggal mereka masing-masing di kota Malang. Keempat perkumpulan tersebut diantaranya; Perkumpulan mahasiswa Manggarai di daerah Dinoyo, perkumpulan mahasiswa Manggarai di daerah Pisang Candi, perkumpulan mahasiswa Manggarai di daerah Kanjuruhan dan perkumpulan mahasiswa Manggarai di daerah Belimbing Malang. Kedua, perwujudan budaya lejong tau yang ditampilkan oleh mahasiswa Manggarai di kota Malang tampak dalam keterlibatan dari semua mahasiswa Manggarai 4 (empat) rayon di kota Malang dalam kegiatan pertemuan rutin sesuai jadwal yang telah ditentukan bersama, pengumpulan dana atau mengadakan arisan menjelang acara-acara penting yang bersifat umum seperti; perayaan hari raya besar khususnya acara makan bersama menjelang Natal dan tahun baru, pesta wisuda, acara penerimaan mahasiswa baru, doa bersama dan pertandingan persahabatan antar rayon bersama keluarga besar mahasiswa Manggarai di kota Malang. Ketiga, Nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam budaya lejong tau antara lain; nilai sosial, nilai moral, nilai religius, nilai persatuan, nilai persaudaraan, nilai kekeluargaan, nilai kesopanan dan nilai kedisiplinan. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian disarankan kepada semua mahasiswa Manggarai di kota Malang untuk; (a) Sebagai makhluk sosial dan berbudaya semua mahasiswa Manggarai yang kuliah di kota Malang harus bisa menerapkan dan mewujudkan budaya lejong tau dengan baik, karena budaya lejong tau adalah lingkaran kebersamaan yang mempersatukan orang-orang Manggarai dimanapun berada. (b) Sebagai agen penerus bangsa, mahasiswa Manggarai di kota Malang harus bisa memahami nilai-nilai dan pesan yang terkandung dalam budaya lejong tau, karena sesungguhnya budaya lejong tau merupakan sebuah perwujudan dari apa yang disebut sebagai sebuah keluarga besar ciptaan Tuhan Yang Maha Esa yang menyebabkan segala sesuatu di dunia ini ada dan hidup. Ungkapan ini hendak mengutarakan sebuah bentuk sosialitas manusia sebagai mahkluk yang selamanya senantiasa membutuhkan kehadiran yang lain dan selalu ada bersama yang lain baik manusia maupun dengan alam semesta ini. Soil-structure interaction of a permanent steel fibre reinforced underwater concrete floor system
No full textThe focus of this research was the implementation of a permanent steel fibre reinforced underwater concrete floor (SFRUCF) as a permanent structural floor. A model was created that can describe the soil structure interaction of an SFRUCF including the highly non-linear behaviour of SFRC. The soil structure interaction of the UCF was modelled in Plaxis 2D with a plate element that includes the behaviour of SFRUC by means of an MN-κ diagram. This model was validated with measured data from the Albert Cuyp garage. It was shown that due to the uplift pressure heave occurred in the clay layer underneath the UCF, which increases the load on the UCF by 10%-30% and should be taken into account in the design. Also the heave from the deep Eemclay was considered. This heave had influence on the total deformations but hardly affected the internal forces in the UCF, justifying the fact that this heave is usually not included in the design of a UCF. A fictive E-modulus is often used to describe the cracked behaviour of steel fibre reinforced concrete. It was shown that using this fictive E-modulus in the building phase leads to an underestimation of the shear forces. Additionally, a sensitivity analysis was done to show which parameters influence the calculation results, the design and the suitability of a permanent SFRUCF. The suitability of an SFRUCF is determined by the column loads in the final phase and the presence of a stiff raft. It was concluded that an SLS check should be included in the CUR 77 for water tightness, crack width and deformations if an SFRUCF is to be used permanently. The interaction between the raft can be modelled in Plaxis 2D with the plate element that has the behaviour of SFRC. For cases that do not include a stiff raft simpler models can be used such as the Plaxis model with springs or even a beam model with SFRC input.Geotechnical Engineerin
Handboek Oevers en Waterberging: Handreiking voor ontwerp, inrichting en onderhoud
No full textVoorliggend handboek heeft als doel zo concreet mogelijk richtlijnen te formuleren voor het ontwerp en de inrichting van nieuwe waterbergingsgebieden. Met behulp van deze richtlijnen kan afstemming plaatsvinden tussen de ontwerper en de beheerder van de waterberging. Hierdoor wordt het ontwerp van een waterbergingsproject als het ware "onderhoudsproof" gemaakt. Onder een "onderhoudsproof" ontwerp wordt verstaan: - Werkbare arbeidsomstandigheden voor de personen die belast zijn met het onderhoud van een gebied; - Onderhoud dat kan worden uitgevoerd tegen aanvaardbare kosten; - Onderhoud dat bijdraagt aan een duurzame instandhouding van de waterberging en de natuurlijke eigenschappen van een gebied. Deze notitie is niet bedoeld als een keurslijf: hoewel geprobeerd is de richtlijnen zo concreet mogelijk te formuleren, is er voor ontwerper en beheerder voldoende ruimte om voor ieder project op basis van gebiedskenmerken bepaalde afwegingen te maken. Door te motiveren waarom wordt afgeweken van bepaalde richtlijnen kunnen ontwerper en beheerder in onderling overleg tot een optimaal ontwerp komen. Eventuele afspraken die tijdens dat proces worden gemaakt, moeten worden opgenomen in een beheersplan voor het betreffende projectgebied. De notitie beperkt zich tot het onderhoudsproof ontwerpen van projecten met een waterbergingsof natuurdoelstelling in het landelijk gebied. Een aankoopstrategie en het beheer van waterbergingsgebieden (peilbeheer, doorspoelregime, enz.) maken geen expliciet onderdeel uit van deze notitie en ook eventuele recreatieve objecten in een projectgebied worden buiten beschouwing gelaten. Het reguliere onderhoud van oevers zonder waterbergingsdoelstelling, dijkbermen en wegbermen maakt geen onderdeel uit van de notitie, evenals waterbergingsprojecten in stedelijk gebied

How The Athletes' Nutritional Recommendations Are Implemented In The Club's Athletes (Bengal Tigers Cricket Club)
Get PDFThis study examines how the multicultural players of the Bengal Tigers Cricket Club (BTCC) in Finland apply the Athlete' s Plate Model and related dietary advice. A structured questionnaire captured self-reported knowledge, attitudes and behaviours from every rostered athlete. Five hypotheses were then formulated from the Knowledge–Attitude–Behaviour (KAB) model and the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB). Pearson-correlation tests and a multiple-linear-regression model were run; inter-correlations never exceeded (.40), so multicollinearity was not a concern.
Two of the five hypotheses were supported. Actively incorporating Finnish foods into daily meals drove stronger use of the Plate Model, whereas a strong taste preference for traditional Bangladeshi cuisine reduced it. Familiarity with the Plate Model and snack-component knowledge showed no predictive value, and the perceived cultural mismatch variable behaved opposite to expectation. The author, who also works as BTCC’s assistant coach, used personal sideline observations to explain these mixed results: senior players recite nutritional facts yet default to long-held eating habits; some who complain most loudly about Finnish food are also the quickest to engineer practical workarounds.
Overall, the data confirm that knowledge alone does not translate into action; intention and culturally shaped attitudes determine whether guidelines are applied. The paper recommends a five-point intervention plan centered on fusion cooking labs, Finnish-food starter packs and peer mentoring to turn intention into routine and to soften flavor-based resistance. These targeted measures can help BTCC and similar multicultural clubs, narrow the gap between knowing the Plate Model and living it each day
Governed from a parking lot: The distinctive architectural qualities of the former Ministry of Foreign Affairs and temporary House of Representatives
No full textThe focal point of this thesis lies within the state building situated on Bezuidenhoutseweg in The Hague. Having been inaugurated in 1985, the edifice functioned as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for approximately 35 years and, from 2021 onwards, as a temporary accommodation for the Dutch Parliament. This thesis, therefore, evaluates the building and its subsequent expansion concerning its role, architectural qualities, and functionality for both purposes. The thesis examines the overall development and situation of the building to provide a balanced answer to the main question, ‘In what way do the distinctive architectural qualities of the former Ministry of Foreign Affairs contribute to the building’s functionality in its role?’ The structuralist design by Dick Apon is characterized by a strong emphasis on the human scale in form and finish. The fragmented facade design plays with introverted and extroverted parts, making it highly suitable for the ministry’s function but less so for parliamentary functions, which benefit from a high degree of transparency. The strongly hierarchical structure of the building supports the ministry’s working methods but completely stifles the dynamics between politicians and the press.The thesis concludes that the building provides much more functional accommodation for the ministry than for the Dutch Parliament. Isolation and enzyme bioprospection of bacteria associated to Bruguiera cylindrica, a mangrove plant of North Sumatra, Indonesia
Get PDFMangrove-associated bacteria are of industrial interest due to their diverse and versatile enzyme properties. This study investigates the culturable bacteria from a wide range of habitat in a Bruguiera cylindrica mangrove ecosystem in North Sumatra. Screening of extracellular hydrolytic enzymes showed multiple potential traits in amylase, cellulase, chitinase, phosphatase, protease, and urease production by bacterial isolates. Molecular identification based on 16S rDNA region of a potential strain, Vibrio alginolyticus Jme3−20 is then reported as a newly proteolytic agent. The strain also showed a stable growth under salinity (NaCl) stress with considerable phosphate solubilization activities. Protease activity was enhanced by optimizing the 0.5 % (w/v) sucrose and soy peptone in the fermentation medium. SDS-PAGE and zymogram analysis showed the presence of a 35-kDa MW protease. Hence, our study revealed important insights into the bacterial diversity and activity in mangrove ecosystems, evidencing the importance of microbial exploration in this ecosystem.Peer reviewe
