Art as an intervention strategy with unaccompanied minors

    No full text
This book is a collective work that collects some of the research papers (in translated and expanded form) that have already been presented in the Italian version (Traverso, 2018). In Italy, UMs (Unaccompanied Minors), despite a drop in landings and arrivals, remain an urgent social and educational thought because that thought is about a fragile part of the population that lives in towns and cities alongside us. The subject discussed in these pages is not, however, the “UM”, understood as a social or juridical category, but the stories of many childhoods, experiences very far from us and from our daily reference points. The research and educational design ask questions of themselves and work within this distance, to listen, to explain, and to tell

I DON’T UNDERSTAND THESE EXERCISES: STUDENTS INTERPRETING STORIES OF FAILURE

    No full text
In this paper we focus on students ’ view of difficulty in solving mathematical exercises in order to study how the “learning to learn ” competence may occur in the specific case of learning mathematics. Preliminary results give insights into “learning to learn” competence in mathematics and suggest directions for intervention in case of difficulty. Moreover, results show the importance of co-responsibility between teacher and student in learning and the crucial role of the teacher in helping students to overcome learning difficulties

Nuevas derechas, viejas izquierdas : Una conversación con Enzo Traverso

The present reflections are the result of a series of conversations with Enzo Traverso that took place in mid-November, in the city of Buenos Aires. Traverso obtained his PhD degree at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (Paris, France), who currently works as a professor and researcher in the United States. Author of important books on contemporary European history, Enzo Traverso has written numerous reflections on historiographical practice and on the relationship between memory, politics and history. During his last visit to Argentina, he gave lectures and seminars in the framework of the Marx 200 years International Encounter. On this occasion, and about the publication in Spanish of his last two books (The New Faces of the Right and Left Melancholy. Marxism, history and memory), he agreed to discuss the new Latin American rights, the feminist movements, the situation of the left worldwide, and the nature of neoliberalism. Here we present and transcribe the result of those conversations.Las presentes reflexiones son el resultado de una serie de conversaciones con Enzo Traverso que tuvieron lugar a mediados de noviembre, en la ciudad de Buenos Aires. Photochemistry of tris(pyrazolyl)borate titanium(IV) complexes

The electronic features and photochemistry of TpTiCl3 (1) (Tp = hydrotris(pyrazol-1-yl)borate) and Tp*TiCl3 (2) (Tp* = hydrotris( 3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)borate) were studied in THF. Reactive decay of the excited states produced either HBpz3· (or HBpz3°* and metal center Ti(III) radicals via homolytic cleavage of the Tp -Ti (Tp* - Ti) bond. Cleavage of the Tp - Ti and the Tp*- Ti bond as a primary photoprocess is shown to be consistent with LMCT Tp - Ti and Tp*- Ti excitation. TpTiCl2(THF) (3) and Tp*TiCl2(THF) (4) were also prepared by stoichiometric reduction of 1 and 2 with Li3N. The THF ligand in 3 and 4 was replaced by the stable nitroxyl radical TEMPO (2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperidinyloxy) to provide the new complexes TpTiCl2-(TEMPO) (5) and Tp*TiCl2(TEMPO) (6) in which the TEMPO ligand is eta1 coordinated to Ti(IV). Photolysis of 5 and 6 generate Ti(III) and the TEMPO radical in the primary photochemical step
