Stages for the More Sustainable Farm
Currently, agricultural farm units are faced with a double and most times contradictory challenge, in order to be successful: on the one hand the invested capital has to be profitable and the economic performance has to be maximised. On the other hand, given the socio-environmental situation, it is necessary to preserve and to protect the environment and natural resources. Given the potential conflict of the two aims, since the satisfaction of one implies the underperformance of the other (and vice versa), the question then is: which is the solution to choose? We intend, in this work, to formulate a farm plan with the purpose of reconciling the criteria of environmental sustainability with that of economic competitiveness. For this achievement we proceed to the comparative study of sustainability of different groups of farms identified in the study area (first evaluation cycle) through MESMIS (“Marco para la Evaluación de Sistemas de Manejo de Recursos Naturales Mediante Indicadores de Sustentabilidad” - Framework for Evaluation of Natural-Resource Systems Handling through Sustainability Indicators) methodology, that allowed to select the more sustainable group of farms. Based on the found potentialities and weakness on these production systems, we stepped to the planning of a production unit of bovine meat, which obeys simultaneously to economic and environmental objectives, using Multicriteria Decision. We finished the work with the sustainability evaluation between groups of farms identified previously and the planned farms (second evaluation cycle), based, again, in the MESMIS methodology, to confirm (or not) the greatest sustainability of the last ones. Analyses of the results allow us to confirm the greatest relative sustainability of the planned farm, for the diverse traced scenarios.Decision taking, planning, sustainability, Environmental Economics and Policy, Farm Management,

Reescrita de si pelo outro: identidade portuguesa e paródia em Deus-dará, de Alexandra Lucas Coelho / Rewriting oneself through the other: Portuguese identity and parody in Deus-dará, by Alexandra Lucas Coelho
Abstract: The article observes how the novel Deus-dará, by Alexandra Lucas Coelho, a Portuguese contemporary writer consists in an exercise of renegotiation for the Portuguese identity in relation to issues that refer to the colonization process in Brazil. Moreover, this text seeks to show how parody as a fictional literary strategy helps the author in expressing a necessity and a possibility of redefining oneself through the other, in a direction that goes in the opposite way of the colonial speech. This necessity and this possibility also appear in the author’s interviews and travel books, such as Vai, Brasil and Cinco Voltas na Bahia e um beijo para Caetano Veloso, which will also be mentioned in this article. Keywords: Portuguese identity; parody; post-modernism; Portuguese contemporary writing; Alexandra Lucas Coelho
Flor-Caatingueira
These writings deal with restlessness, criticism, ruptures and thanks from different kinds of experiments, but our inspiring focus here is the art, passion and ideas of life and profession of Flor-Caatingueria Lydia Brasileira, former teacher of the Center for Education Superior of the Seridó - CERES in Caicó-RN. Therefore, this is an attempt to produce echoes in other people and places causing passion for the experiences that life can offer and the sensitivity to see them. We are not prepared to present them with innovations, effective formulas, manuals or any other standardized form that constitutes the current capitalist educational ideal, not to speak of quantities or qualities, but of feelings, for we try to break walls every day with people like Lydia , Who tore his titles and surrendered and integrated himself to the Sertão-clod of feet on the ground and without scent, ready to build and share many knowledgeEsses escritos tratam de inquietações, críticas, rupturas e agradecimentos advindos de diferentes tipos de experimentações, mas nosso foco inspirador aqui são a arte, a paixão e as ideias de vida e profissão da Flor-Caatingueria Lydia Brasileira, ex-professora do Centro de Ensino Superior do Seridó - CERES em Caicó-RN.

Mexican Women of Graphic Design: Showcasing the current women creative directors of graphic design in Mexico City
Designer and researcher Flor Alexandra Barajas followed the model of The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) for the development of this research-based thesis. The AIGA Women’s Leadership Initiative model works around three goals: to celebrate the achievements of women in design; to cultivate awareness of gender-related issues; to build knowledge, leadership skills, and connections facilitating relationships within and beyond the design industry.
This research-based thesis project documents the exploratory social research study, the environmental graphic design of an interactive traveling exhibition called Designing Perspectives, and a collaborative manifesto, titled ¡Porque soy Mexicana!. Barajas designed these two creative outcomes to celebrate the mutual influence and support of each Mexican woman designer who participated in the exploratory research study.
This project intends to highlight cultural identity awareness by encouraging knowledge of contemporary Mexican women in graphic design in Mexico City. The intention being that future generations of up-and-coming worldwide designers will be able to identify these Mexican women's creative directors and view them as inspiration for their design practices.
The interactive traveling exhibition, Designing Perspectives, generates and continues the conversation about the interconnectedness of gender equality and diversity in the design industry in Mexico City. Therefore, Designing Perspectives has fulfilled the objective of being an interactive traveling exhibition because it is part of the Inédito exhibition at Design Week Mexico in Mexico City. The Inédito exhibition is an international exhibition part of Design Week Mexico hosted in Mexico City from October 9, 2020, to February 8, 2021, at the Espacio CDMX art and design gallery. The main goal of Designing Perspectives is to recognize contemporary Mexican designers and, in doing so, confront the male-dominated field of design by generating awareness and instigating productive conversations while the audience is immersed in the interactive exhibition.Art and Desig
Athaliah and Alexandra: Gender and Queenship in Josephus [Author Accepted Manuscript]
Athaliah and Alexandra were the only two women to rule as queens of Judah/Judaea in their own right and both women’s reigns are reported in Josephus’ writings. Despite their uniqueness, however, Athaliah and Alexandra are rarely compared in scholarship; the former is usually dismissed, and focus centred on the latter. This article contends that there are historical similarities between the two, but literary differences. Josephus could have referred to Athaliah or used elements of her portrayal in his presentation of Alexandra but does not, creating the impression that Alexandra was completely different to her predecessor. It may be instructive, therefore, to consider why Josephus literarily isolates the queens and what this means for his interpretation of Alexandra
