    Data-driven methodologies for decision making in engineering design

    In the product development process, customer needs are essential to develop the product concepts. These concepts are crucial because the subsequent stages in the process are dependent on the selected concepts. Customer needs are conventionally gathered via survey-based methods, which may require extensive cost to conduct. Along with the massive growth of internet, an alternative to those survey-based methods emerges. Customer needs, as well as other insights about the customers, may be inferred from the opinions, feedbacks, or expectations that customers express in various online channels including online customer reviews. However, the volume and the generating velocity of the online customer review data surpass people's ability to analyze them in a reasonable time. Therefore, in order to utilize online reviews for supporting product designers in decision making, this work proposes methodologies that utilize Natural Language Processing tools, machine learning algorithms, and statistical models. In particular, the methodologies are proposed to support product designers in three specific aspects. First, a methodology is proposed to automatically identify product features that are discussed in the customer reviews as well as their corresponding sentiments. The particular product features that are significantly related to sales rank should become the focus of product designers when considering improvements of the existing product. Second, a novel approach to constructing the choice sets in the absence of both socio-demographic and the actual choice set data is proposed. The choice models that use the proposed choice sets are shown to have better predictive ability than the baseline, i.e., using random choice sets. The choice models with higher predictive ability are useful for product designers to perform demand estimation more accurately. Finally, a methodology is proposed to automatically identify product usage contexts from online customer reviews. Understanding the actual usage contexts is important because it may explain the differences in customer needs, the required design targets, and product preferences. In this work, the identified usage contexts are further complemented by their corresponding aspect sentiments.     Implementasi Metode PCA – K Nearest Neighbour untuk Deteksi Golongan Kendaraan Berdasarkan Jumlah Pasang Gandar

    Detection of vehicle type based axle allow to do classify vehicle based on the load that will carried by the vehicle. However at this time, classification of heavy vehicle types based on axles is still carried out by humans. In here research, author use image processing for classification of vehicles class with PCA-K Nearest Neighbour Method. The reason for choosing this algorithm is because previous research use K-Means Clustering have a same formula with K-Nearest Neighbour. The data used is the image captured from the video camera processed by background subtraction method to separate moving object namely vehicle with its background. PCA method is required to obtain eigen vektor from vehicle and reduce its dimensions. Meanwhile, for classification author tries to use classification algorithm of K-Nearest Neighbour. To detect vehicle axles author use Circular Hough Transform method. The Testing Result shows detect vehicle type use PCA-K Nearest Neighbour method with value of K=1 has an accuracy 90%.Deteksi golongan kendaraan berdasarkan gandar memungkinkan untuk melakukan klasifikasi kendaraan berdasarkan beban yang akan di bawa oleh kendaraan tersebut. Namun pada saat ini, klasifikasi jenis kendaraan berat berdasarkan gandar masih dilakukan oleh manusia. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan pengolahan citra untuk klasifikasi golongan kendaraan dengan metode PCA-K Nearest Neighbour. Alasan pemilihan algoritma ini adalah karena penelitian sebelumnya menggunakan algoritma K-means Clustering memiliki rumus yang sama dengan K-Nearest Neighbour. Data yang digunakan adalah citra yang ditangkap dari kamera video diproses dengan metode background subtraction untuk memisahkan objek yang bergerak yaitu kendaraan dengan backgroundnya. Metode PCA diperlukan untuk mendapatkan vektor eigen dari kendaraan dan mereduksi dimensinya, sedangkan untuk klasifikasi penulis mencoba menggunakan algoritma klasifikasi K Nearest Neighbours. Untuk deteksi gandar kendaraan penulis menggunakan metode Circular Hough Transform. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan deteksi golongan kendaraan menggunakan metode PCA-K Nearest Neighbours dengan nilai K=1 mendapat akurasi 90%.84 HalamanSkripsi Sarjan

Konsep ajaran masyarakat Jawa berisi tentang tata laku kehidupan orang Jawa dalam menjaga kelangsungan hidup, dengan tata laku antarmanusia, dengan alam, dan dengan Tuhannya. Salah satu naskah yang banyak dikenal berisi ajaran luhur, yang memberikan ajaran bagaimana hubungan manusia dengan sesamanya, dengan alam, dan dengan Tuhan adalah Serat Wedhatama. Serat Wedhatama adalah salah satu serat yang banyak dijadikan sebagai bahan pengajaran ajaran-ajaran hidup orang Jawa. Penting rasanya untuk mengulas naskah-naskah lama sebagai pengungkapan nilai-nilai ajaran hidup orang Jawa, khususnya dalam Serat Wedhatama. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan beberapa hal yang menyangkut ajaran tata laku manusia kepada Tuhan dan ajaran tata laku antarmanusia yang terdapat dalam Serat Wedhatama. Diharapkan juga penelitian ini secara teori bisa membantu para pembaca untuk menggali lebih dalam isi Serat Wedhatama ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data adalah kutipan kata, klausa, kalimat, dan paragraf yang diduga mengandung ajaran hidup dalam tata laku antarmanusia dan tata laku manusia dengan Tuhan dalam pupuh Serat Wedhatama. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan membaca kemudian mencatat setiap bagian Serat Wedhatama yang memiliki salah satu indikator yang ditentukan. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data berupa instrumen manusia, yaitu peneliti sendiri dibantu dengan alat bantu berupa instrumen tabulasi data. Data yang telah terkumpul kemudian dianalisis tentang bentuk ajaran masyarakat Jawa. Berdasarkan analisis data tersebut, diperoleh dua simpulan hasil analisis data sebagai berikut. Pertama, masalah ajaran tata laku antara manusia dengan Tuhan yang terdapat dalam Serat Wedhatama berupa ajaran catur sembah. Catur sembah merupakan empat sembah yang terdiri atas (1) sembah raga, (2) sembah cipta, (3) sembah jiwa, dan (4) sembah rasa. Kedua, masalah ajaran tata laku antarmanusia dalam Serat Wedhatama. Ajaran tata laku antarmanusia dalam Serat Wedhatama meliputi (1) memahami ilmu, (2) paham akan tiga perkara, dan (3) saling memaafkan. Dengan adanya penelitian berupa skripsi yang berjudul Ajaran Hidup Orang Jawa dalam Serat Wedhatama. Penulis memiliki beberapa saran, saran-saran tersebut antara lain. The concept of the life teaching of the Java community contains the Java code of conduct Javanese life in maintaining viability, with a doctrine between people, with nature, and with God. One of the better-known manuscript contain with noble teachings, which provide life teaching of human relationships with others, with nature, and with God is Serat Wedhatama. Serat Wedhatama is one of many manuscripts used as teaching material in Javanese life. It seems important to review the manuscripts long as the disclosure of the values of Javanese life, especially in Serat Wedhatama. Based on the above background, research titled The Javanese Life Teachings in Serat Wedhatama is implemented. The research was conducted with the aim to describe of the teaching between peoples and between human with God in Serat Wedhatama. This study is also expected in theory could help the reader to delve deeper into the content of this Serat Wedhatama. This study uses descriptive qualitative research design. Data are excerpts words, clauses, sentences, and paragraphs that containing of the life teaching between peoples and between human with God in pupuh of Serat Wedhatama. Data collection is done by reading and then record each piece of Serat Wedhatama which has one of the indicators specified. The instrument used to collect data from the form is a human instrument and helped by tools such as instrument data tabulation. The collected data is then analyzed on the teachings form the Java community. After analyzing the data, the results obtained and reported. Based on analysis of these data, two conclusions obtained data analysis as follows. First, the problem of the life teaching between man and God that is present in the form of Serat Wedhatama was Catur Sembah. Catur Sembah are worship that consists of four items, (1) sembah raga, (2) sembah cipta, (3) sembah jiwa, and (4) sembah rasa. Second, is the life teaching between peoples in Serat Wedhatama. The life teaching between people in Serat Wedhatama include three items, (1) understanding the science, (2) understand the three cases, and (3) to forgive each other. With the research is a thesis entitled The Javanese Life Teachings in Serat Wedhatama, the author has some suggestions.     This article aims to explain the factors that influence the occurrence of anarchist demonstrations and the role of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in dealing with anarchist demonstrations. The author uses a normative juridical approach with the primary legal data sources used being Law No. 9 of 1998 and the National Police Chief’s Regulations relating to the handling of anarchist demonstrations. The results of the research show that peaceful demonstrations became anarchic due to the presence of provocateurs from groups outside the demonstration masses. This research also found that masses of student groups carried out more anarchist demonstrations than other social groups, such as workers or political parties. This article concludes that anarchist demonstrations are not a single factor, non-processional police can also trigger anarchist demonstrations. &nbsp

    Aplikasi Pendeteksian Objek Buah-Buahan yang Memiliki Kemiripan Menggunakan Algoritma Faster R-CNN Berbasis Android

    Object detection is one of the important things for making autonomous robot system. In this research, the author will build a system that can identify and detect fruit objects that have physical similarities that are applied on Android. This system can help to identify and detect fruits in fruit sorting. In this research the object to be detected is an image of apples, pears, grapes, blueberries, lychees, and rambutans. The reason for the selection of this fruit is because of the physical resemblance of the fruit, as apples with pears, grapes with blueberries and rambutans with lychees. This research is expected to simplify the fruit sorting process and reduce errors in sorting due to the similarity of the fruit and can be developed by adding robots so that the sorting system becomes automatic. This research was using 1147 images used as testing and training data and achieved 95,98% accuracy in testing using android.Pendeteksian objek merupakan salah satu hal yang penting dalam pengotomatisan sistem. Dalam skripsi ini penulis membangun suatu sistem yang dapat mengidentifikasi dan mendeteksi objek buah-buahan yang memiliki kemiripan fisik yang diterapkan pada android. Sistem ini dapat membantu untuk pengidentifikasian dan pendeteksian buah-buahan yang ada untuk mempermudah proses penyortiran buah. Pada penelitian ini objek yang akan dideteksi adalah image dari buah apel, pir, anggur, blueberry, leci, dan rambutan. Alasan pemilihan dari buah ini adalah karena adanya kemiripan fisik pada buah yaitu buah apel dengan buah pir, buah anggur dengan blueberry dan juga buah rambutan dengan buah leci. Penelitian ini diharapkan akan mempermudah proses penyortiran buah dan mengurangi kesalahan dalam penyortiran akibat kemiripan buah dan dapat dikembangkan dengan penambahan robot agar sistem penyortiran menjadi otomatis. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan 1147 data yang digunakan sebagai data testing dan training dan mencapai akurasi 95,98% dalam pengujian program.72 HalamanSkripsi Sarjan
