The development of a region both physically and socially can be seen in terms of the rapid development of its infrastructure; one of them is the development of transportation infrastructure. One of the developments in transportation infrastructure is the construction of toll roads by providing easy mobility. Indonesia is developing a trans toll road. The Trans Java toll road is one of which was developed with one of the Section III toll road segments of the Batang - Semarang toll road. With the height of the embankment and the depth of the soft soil different from each point. At point STA 419 + 700 - STA 424 + 000 with an average heap height of 5-14 meters and soft soil depth of 5 - 10.5 meters. The repair method that has been planned is the replacement of soft soil with padas soil as deep as 0.5 meters to 2 meters, preloading as high as 2 meters, and geotextiles that are installed 2 meters high from the subgrade. In this final project a re-planning will be carried out in the method of soil improvement. The method used is to load the embankment using geotextiles and to reinforce the ground using PVD, Stone Column, and Deep Mixing Cement (DMC). PVD is intended to accelerate the compression that occurs. While Deep soil mixing, Stone Column, and Geotextile are used for reinforcement of subgrade and heaps. The Deep Mixing Cement method is done by mixing cement material into the soil in the form of columns. Stone Column method is created by forming vertical columns of gravel that are not bound by cement material. Whereas the geotextile was installed on the land of the embankment as a reinforcement of the slope and the ground. Analysis of selected alternatives will be reviewed in terms of economic material costs. The results of the planning that have been analyzed are graphed at each STA point by dividing the heap height into 4 parts, namely 5 meters, 7 meters, 10 meters, and 14 meters. From the results obtained, the higher the heap, the more the demand for reinforcement will be increased, but for the 5 meters and 7 meters embankment the results of the analysis do not have much difference for the planning. The specifications used are Unwoven Geotextile 250 (UW-250) with a Tensile strength value of 52 kNm. The PVD requirement for 14 meters embankment has a different consolidation time with other embankments and also different mounting distances. For the Stone Column method, the installation distance between 2 meters and 0.5 meter column diameter is used, and also for the Deep Mixing Cement used diameter of 1.2 meters, Scenter's mounting distance is 2 meters, and the Sshear installation distance is 3 meters. From the results of the alternative calculations obtained alternative PVD and Stone Column because it has a more economical material cost than other alternatives

The principle of sustainable development is to provide benefits in terms of economic, social and environmental aspects. Characteristics of social aspects of a project have a high degree of uncertainty. Involvement in implementation of social sustainability depends on interaction of each stakeholder. One of stakeholders involved is contractor, where there are field workers who play an important role in achieving project success to get maximum benefit. Expected perception is from side of construction project field workers in social sustainability aspect. Perception of field workers themselves regarding point of view of expectations and reality felt by workers. Purpose of this study is to build a model of social sustainability assessment for construction project field workers. In this study, a model for assessing social sustainability of workers is applied to construction projects. To build a model for assessing social sustainability of workers, this study uses Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation (FCE) methods. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is used to weight social sustainability criteria. Where will form a sequence of weights from assessment criteria in a hierarchical manner and can find out which criteria have greatest weight. Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation (FCE) method evaluates social sustainability assessments from field workers obtained through an assessment of expectations and realities assessed by workers. With weighting that has been obtained using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, results of assessment can accommodate social sustainability value of field workers as a whole, by comparing values of expectations and reality. Through this assessment model, it is possible to see criteria to be met to achieve social sustainability for workers. In the application of final result of assessment model through a case study, value of social sustainability for construction field workers is 0.948. So that this value can be used as an evaluation material in improving social sustainability for field worker

Patterns of behavior in biodiversity preservation
Conservation budgets are limited, so it is right to ask of biodiversity programs, What should be preserved? How much should be preserved? Where? Recent papers on optimal preservation policy have tried to integrate three considerations: the relative uniqueness of different species or habitats, the degree of risk to their continued survival, and the opportunity cost of the resources needed to enhance their prospects for survival. It is natural to ask, How are we doing? Have biodiversity conservation resources been optimally allocated? What determines government decisions about the preservation of endangered species? The authors submit the first report card, an empirical analysis of U.S. species preservation policy, the best-documented country experience currently available. The authors discuss the most common normative justifications for biodiversity preservation and identify measurable proxies for a subset of those justifications. Proxies include"scientific"species characteristics, such as"degree of endangerment"and"taxonomic uniqueness,"as well as"visceral"characteristics, such as physical size and to what extent a species is considered a"higher form of life."They find that both kindsof characteristics, but especially"visceral"characteristics, influence government decisions on whether to protect a species under the Endangered Species Act. The authors find that"visceral"characteristics- especially physical size and taxonomic class - are also important in explaining how much is spent on endangered species. Perhaps more surprising is their finding that more is spent on animals with lower risk of extinction than on animals with a higher risk of extinction. The author's results are sobering. Many millions have been spent on species preservation, but neither uniqueness nor risk has weighed heavily in resource allocation. Instead there has been a heavy bias toward"charismatic megafauna"- large, well-known birds and mammals ("higher forms of life,"in the human value system). Other classes of fauna - including, say, eels or wild toads - and all flora, have gotten extremely short shrift. Prominent examples of species with high charisma, high attention, and relatively low endangerment are the bald eagle, the Florida scrub jay, and the grizzly bear. Other species may have less charisma but could have more scientific value or species risk.Wildlife Resources,Wetlands,Environmental Economics&Policies,Information Technology,Biodiversity

Identification of factors influencing indoor electricity Consumption in Surabaya and energy saving strategies in tropical climate
Growing urban centers and rising living standards in tropical regions like Surabaya are driving significant increases in building energy consumption. This trend poses considerable challenges to energy infrastructure sustainability and contributes to environmental concerns, particularly given the inherent climatic demands for cooling and dehumidification. Addressing this effectively necessitates a clear understanding of the primary drivers influencing energy use patterns. Therefore, this study comprehensively identifies the diverse factors impacting indoor electrical energy consumption within this context. Furthermore, it aims to formulate practical and effective energy conservation strategies specifically tailored to mitigate consumption while leveraging the unique characteristics and constraints presented by the tropical climate. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research integrated foundational knowledge from a thorough literature review with primary data collected via questionnaires distributed to 70 residents in Surabaya, capturing specific local conditions, behaviors, and perceptions related to energy use. The findings reveal that electricity consumption is shaped by a complex interplay across six main categories: occupant characteristics and behaviors, prevailing socioeconomic conditions, inherent building design and material features, the effectiveness of natural ventilation and lighting systems, the types and efficiency of electronic devices used, and the reliance on active air conditioning systems. Based on these insights, relevant and context-specific energy conservation strategies were identified. Key approaches include optimizing building design for effective cross-ventilation, maximizing the utilization of abundant natural daylight, systematically implementing passive tropical architectural design principles, and encouraging the adoption of certified energy-efficient appliances. Ultimately, this study strongly recommends a holistic approach, integrating both technical solutions and non-technical measures like promoting behavioral changes, to achieve meaningful and sustainable energy efficiency improvements in buildings within tropical regions

Folklore is part of Indonesia's rich cultural treasures. In Indonesia there are 1340 tribes and many of which have their own folklore. But unfortunately, currently folklore is seen as less attractive, especially by Indonesian children. Many factors are the cause. Several things, among others, because folklore is considered less relevant to the times. Especially in this modern era of globalization. To increase children's literacy and interest in folklore, the author tries to make a book on one of the folktales in Indonesia. The legend of Joko Kendil. This folklore from Central Java was chosen because it has a lot of moral messages. These include self-confidence, empathy, and mutual respect. Attitudes that need to be instilled in children as early as possible. To make the presentation interesting, the author made a 24-page story book. The 20 pages of which contain illustrations in the form of Pop-Ups. Apart from being able to attract the attention of children and make them understand more about the content being conveyed. This Pop-Up Book can also increase interaction, increase vocabulary in children, also stimulate imagination in children. It is hoped that the final results of this design can produce books that can improve literacy and imagination in children. And also to convey a moral message while preserving Indonesian culture. In addition, the authors hope that this research can become a basis for further research on related themes
PROJECT-BASED LEARNING AND RALLY TABLE: EFFECTS ON ELECTRICITY LEARNING OUTCOMES IN HIGH SCHOOL
The implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in physics instruction is aligned with topics that have direct applications in daily life, such as electricity. One of the projects that students can undertake is constructing a simple household electrical installation. However, PjBL has a limitation in which students only focus on the final product of the project rather than the underlying concepts required to complete it. This condition leads to decreased student engagement during the learning process, which in turn may increase the probability of a decline in learning outcomes. This weakness can be addressed by integrating the Rally Table learning strategy. Therefore, this study aims to measure the effectiveness of PjBL combined with Rally Table in improving the learning outcomes of 12th-grade students on the topic of electricity. The study employed a one-group pretest–posttest design with a sample of 72 students. The findings indicate an improvement in learning outcomes by 37%. In addition, classroom observations revealed that proper time allocation between regular learning activities and project work is essential to foster active student engagement throughout the learning process
Entrepreneurial Perception and Motivation of Vocational High School Students in Purwokerto
This research aims to describe the entrepreneurial perception and motivation of vocational high school students in Purwokerto. The topic is mainly brought by the increasing unemployment rate in Indonesia and the unreadiness of human resources to compete in the work field. However, the vocational education that should have prepared and produced skilled labor has become no longer relevant according to the market demand. This research design is the survey method to examine vocational high school students' entrepreneurial perception and motivation at SMKN 1 and SMKN 2 Purwokerto. The author randomly took the twelfth grader as the sample. To analyze the data, the author used the descriptive method by using frequency distribution to display the frequency of various selection outcomes. The result shows that 165 respondents possess a positive entrepreneurial perception. On the other side, 167 respondents have high entrepreneurial motivation. Nonetheless, most of the students still choose to look for a job over setting up a business due to the unreadiness of encountering challenges in the entrepreneurial world
