No full textThis paper presents two innovative units linked together to build the main frame of a UAV Mis- sion Management System. The first unit is a Path Planner for small UAVs able to generate optimal paths in a tridimensional environment, generat- ing flyable and safe paths with the lowest com- putational effort. The second unit is the Flight Management System based on Nonlinear Model Predictive Control, that tracks the reference path and exploits a spherical camera model to avoid unpredicted obstacles along the path. The control system solves on-line (i.e. at each sampling time) a finite horizon (state horizon) open loop optimal control problem with a Genetic Algorithm. This algorithm finds the command sequence that min- imizes the tracking error with respect to the ref- erence path, driving the aircraft far from sensed obstacles and towards the desired trajectory
On a Functional Identity Involving Power Values of Generalized Skew Derivations on Lie Ideals

Energy recovery from wastes blends using a two-stage reactor: economic evaluations
No full textThis paper convenience power from examines the economic of producing electric some selected wastes by means of a two stage gasification-power generation system with a waste flowrate of 49 t/h. A comparison among RDF, RDF blended with waste oil, MSW from high income countries, bagasse and switchgrass shows that the last two give equivalent results, while the feeding, based on RDF, shows the worst results. As a consequence the sensitivity analysis is carried out by considering bagasse and MSW only. The analyses indicates that a variation of 60 Euro/t for investment cost, 0.04 Euro/ m(3)(STP) for oxygen gas and 7 Euro/t for the manpower cost influences only a little on the performance reached by the wastes. A depreciation value of 8% that ROI calculation indicates possible, allows at accumulating fresh capital for new investment. These data allow at concluding that the use of plants including the proposed two-stage reactor for producing electric power by using as a fuel wastes is promising and convenient

No full textL’Opusculum contra Wolfelmum, scritto attorno al 1085 dall’enigmatica figura di Manegoldo di Lautenbach, è stato spesso ritenuto un attacco complessivo contro la sapienza pagana. Tuttavia, una analisi più attenta dell’opera mostra che le critiche del suo autore sono limitate unicamente agli aspetti della fisica di Macrobio che meno potevano conciliarsi con i fondamenti della fede cristiana (e soprattutto con la sua escatologia): metempsicosi, dottrina dell’anima del mondo, concezione del corpo come prigione dell’anima. Inoltre, l’intento principale dello scritto sembra attaccare il suo ignoto destinatario dal punto di vista politico, per la sua appartenenza al partito antigregoriano. Manegoldo si rivela dunque non un oscurantista, ma un difensore dell’ortodossia in tutte le sue forme
Automobile shredder residue gasification
No full textAutomobile Shredder Residue (ASR) shows a broad chemical composition owing to the presence of different materials, and its high organic content makes it interesting as a source of energy. In this work, a bench scale two-stage reactor is used for gasifying ASR. The reactor shows an efficient ASR gasification, avoiding the formation of difficult to manage char and tar and allowing an easy recovery of energy. The results of the investigation were used to test a simple model based on mass and energy balances and chemical equilibrium, predicting syngas composition including the presence of problematic elements such as sulphur and chlorine. Gasification data calculated by the model agree in a satisfactory way with the experimental ones. Due to the large variation in ASR composition, the model predicts that ASR gasification is industrially feasible only if a blend of ASR and RDF is used as a reactor feed
