Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Loading speed of JavaScript and C# with Web assembly in a Live-programming environment

(2021) påstår att studenter hoppar av programmeringsutbildningar allt oftare eftersom de känner att de inte har några förkunskaper, eller att de inte förstår undervisningen. Undervisningstekniker går alltid att förbättra, därför är live-programmering ett sätt att få studenter att förstå vad kod gör. Live-programmering innebär att kod skrivs i en textruta och presenteras kort därefter som en demo. I denna studie kommer programmeringsspråken C# och JavaScript jämföras mot varandra i ett experiment för att se vilket har lägst laddningshastighet. På grund av att C# inte stöds naturligt på webbplatsen kommer webb assembly användas för att kompilera C# kod, samtidigt kommer blazor användas eftersom webb assembly är redan implementerat i ramverket. Mätningen av experimentet gjordes med hjälp av ett skript som mätte laddningstiden i millisekunder. Resultatet visade i varje mätserie att JavaScript hade mycket lägre laddningstid än C#. Det går att fortsätta på studien, genom att bygga en kompilator och ett ramverk. Det finns övrigt digitalt material (t.ex. film-, bild- eller ljudfiler) eller modeller/artefakter tillhörande examensarbetet som ska skickas till arkivet.There are other digital material (eg film, image or audio files) or models/artifacts that belongs to the thesis and need to be archived.</p
Conceptualization of a real-time information processing platform for context-aware informing cyber-physical systems
Informing cyber-physical systems (I-CPSs) are designed to accomplish sensing, reasoning and informing activities in dynamic context. In order tosimplify and accelerate the design and implementation process of multiple context-aware ICPSs, we are developing an information sensing,computing and actuating (SCA) platform that can be used as a central module of these systems. This paper presents the concept of a SCA platform. Thefunctionality of the platform includes development of context-dependent strategies to adapt the sensing, reasoning and informing behaviors of the platform to various dynamic contexts. There are four constituents of the platform: (1) a generic kernel, (2) built-in elements, (3) add-on components, and (4) system interfaces. The paper also discusses both the internal and external integration mechanism of the SCA platform, which can be customized according to the needs of specific I-CPS applications by extending the generic kernel with various functional built-in elements and add-on components. The feasibility andapplicability of the platform have been tested through a case study: an indoor fire evacuation guiding system. Structural, biological and computational study of oxamide derivative|СТРУКТУРНА, БИОЛОШКА И РАЧУНСКА ИПИТИВАЊА ДЕРИВАТА ОКСАМИДА
A dicarboxylato-diamide-type compound 2,2'-[(1,2-dioxoethane-1,2--diyl)diimino]dibenzoicacid (H(4)obbz) (1) was synthesized and characterized. The crystal structure of K(2)H(2)obbz center dot 2H(2)O (2) was determined by X-ray diffract-tion analysis. The cytotoxic activities of the compounds were tested against four different cancer cell lines MCF-7, A549, HT-29, HeLa and a human nor-mal cell line MRC-5. The results indicate reasonable dose-dependent cytotox-icity of the ligands that show selectivity against the tested carcinoma and healthy cell lines. Flow cytometric analysis and fluorescence microscopy showed that the most active compound, H(4)obbz, induced apoptosis and G0/G1 cell cycle arrest, indicating blockage of DNA synthesis as a possible mechanism that trig-gers apoptosis. Docking and molecular dynamics simulations gave similar res-ponses regarding interactions (binding) between their ligands and chaperon Grp78. The MMGBSA determined Delta G binding energies were in the range from -104 to -140 kJ mol(-1)

Three-dimensional structure of quantized vortices in rotating Bose-Einstein condensates
Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC) are ideal superfluid systems to realize quantum turbulence (QT): vortex cores in BECs are larger than in superfluid Helium, making easier their observation. Recent experimental and numerical studies reported that vortex states in BEC can evolve towards a turbulent regime when an oscillatory excitation is applied. We discuss in this work how to accurately prepare initial states with vortices before running numerical simulations of QT based on the Gross-Pitaevskii equation. The case of a dense Abrikosov lattice in a fast rotating BEC is presented. High resolution numerical simulations using parallel computing are used to accurately capture physically important features of the vortices (vortex radius, inter-vortex spacing, vortex density profile)
A 2 h periodic variation in the low-mass X-ray binary Ser X-1
Spectroscopy of the low-mass X-ray binary Ser X-1 using the Gran Telescopio Canarias have revealed a ?2 h periodic variability that is present in the three strongest emission lines. We tentatively interpret this variability as due to orbital motion, making it the first indication of the orbital period of Ser X-1. Together with the fact that the emission lines are remarkably narrow, but still resolved, we show that a main-sequence K dwarf together with a canonical 1.4 M? neutron star gives a good description of the system. In this scenario, the most likely place for the emission lines to arise is the accretion disc, instead of a localized region in the binary (such as the irradiated surface or the stream-impact point), and their narrowness is due instead to the low inclination (?10°) of Ser X-1
