Movie adaptation of Hello, Sadness by F. Sagan
Diplomski rad pod nazivom Filmska adaptacija « Dobar dan, tugo » F. Sagan bavi se usporedbom knjige « Bonjour tristesse » popularne autorice, Françoise Sagan, s usporedbom filma slavnog redatelja Otta Premingera. Graduate work entitled Movie adaptation of Hello, Sadness by F. The organization and history of primary education in Sagan in 1945–1956
In this paper the author presents the issue of organizing primary education activities in the Western Territories after World War II : as an example Sagan. The reader is informed about salary of teachers, pedagogical supervision. At the end we discuss in detail formation of 4 elementary schools operating in those years in Sagan (Primary School No. 1, Primary School No. 2, Primary School No. 3, Primary School No. 4).W referacie autorka przedstawi problem organizacji działalności szkolnictwa podstawowego na Ziemiach Zachodnich na przykładzie Żagania po II wojnie światowej. Poruszy przy tym kwestie związane z wynagrodzeniem nauczycieli oraz nadzorem pedagogicznym. MICRO SIMULATION OF PELICAN CROSSING AT SIGNALIZED INTERSECTIONS (Case Study: Gejayan and Sagan Intersections, Sleman, Yogyakarta)
The condition of the existing of pedestrian crossing at Gejayan and Sagan
is the unavailability of special signals for the pedestrians. Therefore, the author
proposes a simulation on pelican crossing. The main reason of using simulation is
that there is no pelican crossing in the street mentioned. In this case, the
simulation used is a micro simulation of Aimsun. The aims of this research are to
find out the effectiveness of each scenario in term of intersection performance

The article is a comprehensive analysis of the intertextual references to Frederick Schiller’s tragedy Don Carlos in Leontine Sagan’s movie Girls in Uniform (Mädchen in Uniform, 1931). The author considers the complex circumstances of the cooperation between the director and the artistic director, Carl Froelich, during the production. Moreover, she also presents the literary basis for the movie, namely the tragedy by Christy Winsloe (Gestern und Heute – Yesterday and Today). On this basis, the author analyses the multilevel presence of two phenomena in the movie: suppression and authenticity, which are related to the metaphor of Don Carlos and the plot of love between two women. The contexts for the analysis are inspired by research in the anthropology of romanticism, psychoanalysis, the psychology of sexual identity, and research on the works of Frederick Schiller.Mazur Daria, Między stłumieniem a autentycznością. The social class struggles concept with an interdisciplinary approach: a paramount concept for research in library and information science (LIS)
This paper analyses the social class struggles concept with an interdisciplinary approach to be used by theorists and practitioners of library and information science (LIS). This concept emerged as part of the theoretical framework employed by the author in his doctoral thesis (Muela-Meza, 2010): An Application of Community Profiling to Analyse Community Information Needs, and Providers: Perceptions from the People of the Broomhall Neighbourhood of Sheffield, UK. This concept is complemented from philosophy (Marx and Engels, [1848] 1976a), and the natural sciences (Hauser, 2006; Sagan and Druyan, 1992), and it served the author to understand better the bigger dimensions of the underlying issues behind social classes and human conflicts. It also served to understand better the contradictions between people (e.g. LIS users with contradictory and mutually exclusive information needs to be provided by libraries and other institutions of information recorded in documents), and how these intensify when these are interrelated with the social class they belong to (Muela-Meza, 2007). This paper also criticises some competing views whose proponents by pretending fallaciously and deceitfully to deny the presence of social class divides in society, such as those rhetorical ploys of post-modernism that propose capitalist-class-driven ideologues of “community cohesion” based on “social capital” (Putnam, 1999). It shows evidence of how those followers (e.g. Pateman, 2006; Contreras Contreras, 2004; Bryson, Usherwood and Proctor, 2003) of capitalist-class ideologues, by doing so they aligned their discourse to that of dominance hierarchies and hegemony against working class people, in LIS and other sciences, and the humanities. It also criticises the postmodern pseudoscience because it pretends to undermine the logical rationality fundamental in LIS and all other sciences. It recommends that LIS theorists and practitioners employ the social class struggles concept as configured here in order to understand better contradictions, conflicts, and struggles within LIS theory and practice, and also to search for broader epistemological aims such as justice and wisdom (Fleissner and Hofkirchner, 1998), concealed by the capitalist or bourgeois and middle classes for their benefit against working class

PH Coll 1478. KinseyK22The Seattle March for Science occurred on April 22, 2017. This date was chosen because April 22 is also Earth Day. According to organizers, as many as 20,000 people attended the march, which began at 10 a.m. in Cal Anderson Park in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. The march culminated at the International Fountain at the Seattle Center. The March for Science in Seattle was one of more than 500 similar marches taking place across the United States. Demonstrators marched in support of “robustly funded and publicly communicated science and evidence as a pillar of human freedom and prosperity” and also called “for science that upholds the common good, and for political leaders and policymakers to enact evidence-based policies in the public interest”, according to a statement put out by march organizers. Washington Governor Jay Inslee and Seattle Mayor Ed Murray came out to show their support
