Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full textThe body of theories on Absorptive Capacity is about information management. Search in bibliographic databases shows that this field of study evolved especially on process based models. In order to ease the use of concepts that arise from this theory by applying the variety of data analysis techniques available, it was identified the need to propose a scale for the constructs in model variance. Among the various constructs, we chose the proposal of operationalization on Recognize the Value, the first construct of the group of theories on Absorptive Capacity. This study has three main chapters presented in scholarly articles format. The first article proposes a scale for the construct ‘Recognize the Value’, the second brings the analysis of its antecedents, and the third tests it in an integrated way with other constructs of Absorptive Capacity. This work aims to contribute to the theoretical understanding of Absorptive Capacity theory, also to the development of other studies by applying the developed construct, and to facilitate management by adoption of procedures that effectively enable the company to recognize the value in a certain opportunity.O corpo de teorias referente à Capacidade Absortiva versa sobre a gestão da informação. Foi identificado na literatura que esse campo de estudo evoluiu com base especialmente em modelos baseados em processos. Visando facilitar o uso dos conceitos advindos dessa teoria pela aplicação da variedade de técnicas de análise de dados disponíveis, identificou-se a necessidade de propor uma escala para os construtos em modelo de variância. Dentre os vários construtos, optamos pela proposição da operacionalização de Reconhecimento de Valor, o primeiro construto do grupo de teorias sobre Capacidade Absortiva. Este estudo dispõe de três capítulos principais apresentados em formato de artigos acadêmicos, o primeiro dos quais visando à proposição de uma escala para o construto Reconhecimento de Valor, o segundo objetivando a análise de sua formação por meio de seus antecedentes e o terceiro que o testa de forma integrada com outros construtos da Capacidade Absortiva. Espera-se que este trabalho contribua para o entendimento teórico da teoria de Capacidade Absortiva, permita o desenvolvimento de outras pesquisas aplicando o construto desenvolvido e que facilite o processo gerencial na adoção e gestão de procedimentos que efetivamente capacitem a empresa no Reconhecimento de Valor quando diante de uma oportunidade
Economic observatory: proposal of a longitudinal study on the profile of (dis)employment in the Alto Tietê Region
Get PDFRegional economic data provide myriad possibilities for pursuing projects related to economic growth and development. Specifically, the Economic Observatory consists of the process of elaboration, capture, analysis and distribution of information related to the profile of (dis) employment of labor. From these stages, the production of studies in the form of scientific works and media dissemination, will aim to stimulate the approach of research institutions and the market formed by people who exercise physical and legal activities in the development and practices of actions that allow a better elaboration in resource allocation, either part of government or private enterprise. The procedures started consist of a validation process of the data collection instrument by specialists, pretesting and initial analysis of the applied database. This is a quantitative study, whose database will consist of minimum quantities of 100 used. Larger studies consider clustering as multiple minimum quantities into a large database and proceeding as cross-sectional analyzes of the thirty-seven investigated variables. The expected result is the creation and development of several research groups, as well as generating information on the topic for those interested

No full textEditorialRefas é a revista da Fatec Zona Sul que publica quadrimestralmente artigos cientÃficos desde sua primeira edição em outubro de 2014. A partir de 2017, inicia a parceria com o Congresso Internacional de LogÃstica e Operações (IFLog), ligado ao Instituto Federal de São Paulo (IFSP), Campus Suzano. Trata-se de parceria de sucesso que possibilitou a publicação de 34 artigos de alta qualidade relativos à s pesquisas feitas por diversos pesquisadores e instituições.Na prática, a 7ª edição do IFLog, que tem por tema o marketing e as novas formas de e-commerce: a logÃstica reconfigurada para o perÃodo de pós-pandemia, junta-se à 29ª edição da Revista Refas. Na edição, portanto, apresentam-se pesquisas sobre o ensino a distância, gestão da qualidade, terceirização, comércio eletrônico, transporte de pessoas, gestão por competências e o impacto da Quarta Revolução Industrial.Em sÃntese, o leitor poderá apreciar a leitura dos seguintes estudos:Ensino 4.0: a utilização do MS Teams para integração de aulas hÃbridas na Fatec São Sebastião. Neste estudo, são analisados os aspectos relativos à mudança e adaptação ao sistema de ensino presencial concomitantemente ao remoto realizadas pelo Centro Paula Souza. Os resultados da pesquisa sobre as perspectivas dos professores acerca desse processo apontam para aceitação do uso da tecnologia bem como para possibilidade de avanço no sistema educacional.Proposta de implantação da ferramenta 5S para melhoria na qualidade de programa de pós-graduação em uma instituição pública: estudo que tratou de investigar a gestão de estoques do Departamento de BioquÃmica e propor melhorias que proporcionem bem-estar e aumento da autoestima dos envolvidos. Após visitas à instituição, fotografias, análise de documentos e aplicação de questionários, o estudo visa oferecer à gestão um maior retorno organizacional por meio do ganho de tempo e aumento da produtividade.Estudo de caso acerca da implantação de operação logÃstica terceirizada por empresa multinacional do segmento de marketplace on-line no Brasil: devido ao crescimento do e-commerce brasileiro, o estudo visou analisar os problemas na implementação de uma operação logÃstica dentro de uma empresa de marketplace em São Paulo. São apontadas possÃveis soluções frente à s dificuldades identificadas. Para tanto, adotou-se o método de estudo de caso com observação não participativa e de pesquisa exploratória, bibliográfica e coleta documental. Considerando a escassez de literatura sobre o tema, este estudo se destaca por sua contribuição.Panorama do e-commerce e a logÃstica expressa durante a pandemia de Covid-19: O leitor encontrará neste estudo uma investigação sobre a relação do e-commerce com seus usuários em situação de pandemia, dada sua indispensabilidade como meio de abastecimento e novas oportunidades de negócio. A pesquisa identificou que o aumento de consumidores bem como o de fornecedores gerou mais agilidade, acessibilidade, praticidade e credibilidade na relação comercial, ou seja, a Pandemia Covid-19 beneficiou o mercado.Pesquisa de satisfação em logÃstica: avaliação do transporte público do municÃpio de Mogi das Cruzes (SP): este trabalho questionou mais de cem indivÃduos para saber o que eles pensam sobre o transporte público mogiano. Esta amostra serve como parâmetro para também se conhecer a opinião dos demais usuários. Os resultados indicam haver pouca satisfação com o serviço prestado. Mais de 50% dos pesquisados indicaram a opção regular, ruim e péssimo nos quesitos avaliados. Notou-se insatisfação quanto à acessibilidade, condições dos pontos de parada, tempo de espera e informação sobre o serviço. O preço cobrado e a lotação foram avaliados como ruim ou péssimo por mais de 70% das pessoas que responderam à pesquisa.Uma revisão sistemática de literatura sobre as competências profissionais da quarta era tecnológica: encontra-se neste estudo a análise da relação profissional com o cenário da atual Indústria 4.0. A inserção profissional nos momentos atuais exige competências e adaptações e estas são analisadas e indicadas na investigação. Dentre elas, destacam-se as principais competências caracterizadas como diferenciais competitivos. Resolução de problemas, aprendizagem contÃnua, conhecimento em tecnologias de informação e comunicação, análise e proteção de dados, comunicação, capacidade de análise e gestão, espÃrito crÃtico, coordenação e colaboração, transferência do conhecimento, trabalho em equipe, tomada de decisão, criatividade; liderança, flexibilidade e adaptação.Conceitos da quarta revolução industrial: Indústria 4.0, LogÃstica 4.0 e Gestão da Cadeia de Suprimentos 4.0. Também realiza uma comparação entre os modelos de previsão de demanda. Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
