    Simulação de variações na garantia da qualidade geométrica de tubulações industriais

Nesse sentido, a indústria de tubulações (spools) pode fazer uso de tecnologias digitais, fundamentadas no computador, a fim de adequar-se aos novos rumos da indústria e trazer mais valor para seus processos. Neste trabalho, é explorado o uso do gêmeo digital que, germinado como uma representação válida de uma entidade física, é capaz de incorporar modelos da realidade e realiza experimentos virtuais. A finalidade atribuída a esse protótipo digital busca garantir a qualidade geométrica dos spools, contribuindo com o controle e compreensão das variações dimensionais, bem como com a percepção sobre a impossibilidade de fabricar qualquer peça ou artefato sem desvios com referência à geometria desejada, mas que podem ser previstos e atenuados. Para tanto, são explorados os principais métodos, abordagens e ferramentas que envolvem o processo de garantia da qualidade geométrica. Com isso, dados são reunidos, armazenados e estruturados em um ambiente de gestão do ciclo de vida do produto, favorecendo o fluxo de informação e conhecimento entre as diferentes etapas de desenvolvimento do produto. De posse desses dados, é criada uma representação abrangente da geometria do spool e de seus componentes (tubos, curvas e flanges), viabilizando a construção de um modelo de análise de variações capaz de simular processos de fabricação e montagem, a fim de prever quantidades e causas de variação. Para experimentação virtual, é desenvolvida uma estratégia que permite observar e analisar as variações em casos intra spool e entre spools: o primeiro, relacionado ao spool como uma unidade individual; o segundo, relacionado à linha de tubulações, buscando prever problemas de montagem on-site. Esses experimentos consomem dados de projeto, fabricação e montagem, descritos em normas e documentos vigentes. Os resultados obtidos suscitam a interpretação de que a tolerância dimensional e geométrica pode ser adotada para estimar a capacidade do processo e para conhecer os agentes contribuintes para variação total. No entanto, os resultados também indicam que algumas normas e documentos vigentes definem especificações que comprometem requisitos funcionais do spool e da linha. De todo modo, o principal resultado obtido nesta pesquisa é a possibilidade de despertar um gêmeo digital para garantia da qualidade geométrica de tubulações industriais.Abstract: The 4th industrial revolution, inside the concept of Industry 4.0, has raised the digitalization of manufacturing, through technologies that build and amplify each other, connecting physical and virtual systems. Inside this context, the piping/spool industry might use digital computer based technologies, in order to be aligned with the new directions of the Industry, bringing more value to its processes. The present work explores the use of a digital twin (DT) that, built as true representation of a physical entity, is able to embody models of the reality to carry out virtual experiments. The digital prototype main purpose is to assure the geometry quality of the spool, contributing with both control and comprehension of the dimensional variations, as well as the perception regarding the impossibility of a part or artifact being manufactured without geometric deviations, making possible to predict or mitigate those deviations. For this purpose, this work explores the main methods, approaches and tools for geometry quality assurance. To achieve this, data is gathered, stored and organized in a product life cycle management environment, promoting a flow of information and knowledge throughout the stages of product development. From this data, is possible to create a comprehensive model for the geometry of the spool and its components (pipes, elbows and flanges), enabling the creation of a variation analysis model capable of simulating the manufacture and assembly processes, in order to predict the amount and the causes of variation. For the virtual experiment, a strategy is developed to observe and analyze the variations for intra-spool cases, considering the spool as a single unit; and for cases between spools, related to piping lines, trying to predict assembly issues on-site. These experiments use project, manufacture and assembly data described in standards and current documents. The obtained results lead to an interpretation that the geometric and dimensional tolerances can be adopted to estimate the process capability and to identify the contributing factors for the total variation. However, the results also suggest that some standards and current documents have specifications that compromise functional requirements of both spool and line. In any event, the main result obtained in this research is the possibility of generating a digital twin for geometry quality assurance for industrial piping

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
