CO2 emissions continue to increase every year. The increase in CO2 emissions in Indonesia is caused by an increase in greenhouse gases and the production of CO2 emissions is inseparable from human activities. One of the efforts to reduce CO2 emissions can be done through the Biodiversity Park (Kehati) development program. This study aims to determine the estimation of biomass, carbon stocks and carbon dioxide absorption in PT Chandra Asri's biodiversity park as one of the efforts to reduce carbon emissions. The method used in collecting data on biomass is a non-destructive sampling method using allometric equation analysis to extrapolate biomass. The results showed that the total estimated biomass of all standing categories was 2745 tons/ha, the total carbon stock was 1290.15 tons/ha and the total CO2 absorption was 4734.85 tons/ha. This shows that the carbon stock in Taman Kehati PT. Chandra Asri Cilegon is in the high category because it spans more than 100 tonnes/ha so that PT. Chandra Asri Cilegon can maximize its function as a carbon absorption and storage area to reduce CO2 emissions. Keywords: Allometric equations, biodiversity park, biomassa, carbon dioxide absorption, carbon   Abstrak Emisi CO2 terus mengalami peningkatan di tiap tahunnya. The Sunda Strait tsunami in December 2018 damaged coral reef ecosystems in the Banten coastal area, including Badul Island waters. This condition potentially affects directly to the trophic level of the reef fish community. The purpose of this study was to determine the trophic level of the reef fish community in the waters of Badul Island after a tsunami. The research was conducted in April 2022 at four sampling stations (North, West, South and East) in the Badul Island waters. Reef fish survey using Underwater Visual Census with a 50 m line transect at a depth of 3 – 5 m. Reef fish identified during the study were grouped based on trophic level (carnivore, planktivore, omnivore, herbivore and corallivore). From this research identify 264 individu with 30 species from 17 Family of reef fish. Small waters area around Badul Island made possible reef fish from 4 sampling stations still in same population. The highest abundance of reef fish was found on the west side of Badul Island (128 ind/250 m2). Number species of reef fish founded the highest in East side with 14 species. The highest abundance of reef fish, based on trophic level, was approximately 74 ind/250 m2 of carnivore fish on the western side of the island

The establishment of Taman Kehati Asri by PT Chandra Asri is a form of protection of biodiversity to improve the quality of biodiversity, including fauna. The existence of fauna is very important in ecosystem activities because fauna is a consumer in the food pyramid. If a population decreases, it will have a negative impact on the continuity of food webs and hinder the flow of energy cycle. This study aimed to identify the diversity of fauna in the Taman Kehati Asri area of PT. Chandra Asri Petrochemical, in Gunung Sugih Village, Ciwandan District, Cilegon City, Banten. The research was conducted in October 2022. The methods used were point count and cruise method. Based on the research results, it was found that there were 37 species of fauna belonging to 4 classes, namely birds, mammals, herpetofauna and insects. The result of total species diversity index was 2.98 which was categorized as in the medium category. Furthermore, the fauna dominance index was 0.075 which indicated that one or several species of fauna were not dominated in that area

ABSTRACTCoral reef is one of spesific tropical coastal ecosystem that has high biodivesity. Badul island is one of small island in Banten coastal that have potential coral reef for international and local tourist. Existence and diversity of coral reef depends on water condition like temperature, water current, brightness, sediment. Badul island coral reef already occured natural damage because of Sunda strait tsunami in 2018. Aims of this study to determine coral reef condition in Badul Island after tsunami and compare with the coral reef condition before tsunami. Observation conducted using Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) method and analyzed with Coral Point Count with Excel Extention (CPCe) software. Result known that coral reef ecosystem in Badul Island waters already seriously damage, in East part there is not live coral exist, in South part there is only 1.55% live coral coverage, West part only 24.77% live coral coverage and North part is only 17.47% live coral coverage. Live coral coverage already significantly decrease compare with before tsunami, almost 72.53%. On the other side, this research found 19 genera from 11 coral family. This condition higher than before tsunami, as much 13 genera. But, only 7 genera still found comparing before and after tsunami. Kata kunci: CPCe, Ujung Kulon, Terumbu karang, Tsunami, UP

Global PIQA: Evaluating Physical Commonsense Reasoning Across 100+ Languages and Cultures

    No full text
To date, there exist almost no culturally-specific evaluation benchmarks for large language models (LLMs) that cover a large number of languages and cultures. In this paper, we present Global PIQA, a participatory commonsense reasoning benchmark for over 100 languages, constructed by hand by 335 researchers from 65 countries around the world. The 116 language varieties in Global PIQA cover five continents, 14 language families, and 23 writing systems. In the non-parallel split of Global PIQA, over 50% of examples reference local foods, customs, traditions, or other culturally-specific elements. We find that state-of-the-art LLMs perform well on Global PIQA in aggregate, but they exhibit weaker performance in lower-resource languages (up to a 37% accuracy gap, despite random chance at 50%). Open models generally perform worse than proprietary models. Global PIQA highlights that in many languages and cultures, everyday knowledge remains an area for improvement, alongside more widely-discussed capabilities such as complex reasoning and expert knowledge. Beyond its uses for LLM evaluation, we hope that Global PIQA provides a glimpse into the wide diversity of cultures in which human language is embedded.See §A for author list. Global PIQA would not be possible without the efforts of all of the authors. Wealso thank several anonymous contributors who preferred not to be authors on this paper.
