No full textIn occasione del cinquantesimo anniversario del Rapporto Learning to be: the world of education today and tomorrow, più comunemente noto come Rapporto Faure pubblicato dall’UNESCO nel 1972, il contributo propone una riflessione sui concetti di educazione permanente (éducation permanente) e di città educativa (cité éducative), che negli anni Sessanta-Settanta segnarono una svolta nelle riflessioni sul rapporto tra scuola e comunità educante e che si rivelano oggi di grande significato. In particolare, la questione del “contratto sociale”, che fu centrale nell’attività intellettuale e politica di Edgar Faure, reinterpretata nel più recente rapporto UNESCO sui futuri dell’educazione, fornì il quadro teorico entro cui ricostituire la relazione tra educazione e società. Appare oggi necessario interrogarsi sulla valenza dei concetti presentati per la prima volta nel Rapporto Faure, specialmente alla luce delle riflessioni sul sistema formativo integrato e in riferimento alla sempre più avvertita urgenza di fondare comunità educanti all’interno di un rinnovato patto di corresponsabilità educativa tra scuola e territorio.To mark the fiftieth anniversary of the Learning to be: the world of education today and tomorrow Report, more commonly known as the Faure Report published by UNESCO in 1972, this contribution proposes a reflection on the concepts of lifelong education and of learning society, which in the 1960s-1970s marked a turning point in the reflections on the relationship between schools and the educational community, and which are still of great significance. In particular, the “social contract”, which was central to the intellectual and political activity of Edgar Faure, reinterpreted in the more recent UNESCO Futures of Education Report, provided the theoretical framework for re-establishing the relationship between education and society. It seems necessary today to examine the value of these concepts first presented in the Faure Report, especially considering the reflections on the “sistema formativo integrato” and the need to found educating communities within a renewed pact of educational co-responsibility between the school and the territory
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
No full textWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

No full textLe epigrafi sono fonti insostituibili per la storia antica ed erano un importante mezzo di comunicazione in età romana: l’analisi di questo fenomeno è decisiva per meglio comprendere molti aspetti della romanità e della romanizzazione. Il concetto di “cultura epigrafica” è essenziale per le ricerche che considerano le iscrizioni non soltanto come fonti storiche, ma anche come testimonianze di un fenomeno sociale di comunicazione che si materializza contemporaneamente nel testo scritto e nel suo supporto. La storia e l’archeologia delle Alpi sono al centro di un interesse costantemente rinnovato: le ricerche in queste due discipline si sono evolute e si sviluppano in un’ottica interdisciplinare perché il contesto alpino, strettamente legato al territorio, domanda una forte interazione fra di esse. In questo contesto l’epigrafia, punto di contatto fra la cultura materiale e quella scritta, ha un ruolo importante. Le informazioni ricavate dalle iscrizioni e dai loro supporti sono state gestite mediante la banca dati ALPINITAS, appositamente creata, a partire dalla quale si sono potute definire varie categorie tematiche e poi, con un procedimento di seriazione, vari gruppi tipologici nella comunicazione epigrafica centroalpina. Questo ha poi permesso di riconoscere e definire diversi “orizzonti epigrafici” locali e regionali; capirne le origini, le particolarità, gli sviluppi e le relazioni reciproche permette di affacciarsi su dinamiche socioculturali più ampie
