    ABSTRACT :The Neotiewpia Eco-Village is located within the Lim Chu Kang district at the north of Singapore. The Eco-Village only comprised of 3.5 sq km. Meanwhile the area was dominated by farms, chalets and Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. In 2006, National University of Singapore, School of Design and Environment (SDE), MSc. Environmental Management and Nature Society of Singapore initiated an ecological planning exercise within the Neotiewpia site to reduce the environmental impact from the development while providing Eco-friendly Tourism and R&D activities that feasible in the site. We did participate in the exercise and we tried explaining the ecological process, the limitation and potential development for integrated ecological planning framework in Developing Countries like Indonesia, Brazil, etc with high ecological-values ecosystems. The Vision of Neotiewpia was “A Model Eco-Village that Respects its Natural Heritage, Builds Strong Community Links and Promotes Economic Development on Nature’s Premises." And Neotiewpia was successfully planned and designed with integrated ecological planning approach. It embraced the land evaluation and impact assessment. Further the plan was found feasible by the Singapore Government by earmarking the Lim Chu Kang and Kranji for Agri-tainment development in 2008 (although partially implemented). The Neotiewpia or Lim Chu Kang area was found thriving with Green-Economy and Agro-Tourism. This integrated ecological planning could be translated to other areas in Developing Countries with agriculture potential and facing development pressures such as Neotiewpia. This concept would give alternate Green-Solution to the current economic crisis

Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan dua pendekatan, yaitu pendekatan kualitatif dan pendekatan psikologi sastra.Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode simak bebas libat cakap dan teknik catat dengan sumber data drama Korea Fan Letter, Please karya Jung Sang-Hee. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode transkripsi dan klasifikasi, serta untuk menyajikan hasil data menggunakan metode informal dengan wujud data yaitu tuturan dan penggalan percakapan. Hasil penelitian membuktikan, terdapat 34 data kecemasan yang dialami oleh tokoh Han Kang-Hee dalam drama Korea Fan Letter, Please, yaitu kecemasan realita sebanyak 12 data, kecemasan neurotik sebanyak 8 data, dan kecemasan moral sebanyak 14 data. Selain itu, hasil dari penelitian ini juga dapat diimplikasikan pada materi ajarBahasa Indonesia di SMA kelas XI yaitu pada KD 3.18:Mengidentifikasi alur cerita, babak demi babak, dan konflik dalam drama yang dibaca atau ditonton

    Study on Solar KANG Heating System for Cold Areas

    AbstractThe current rural traditional heated kang cannot meet people's increasing requirements of comfort and environmental protection. This paper propose solar kang heating system in cold regions. System performance and heating effect were analyzed. We selected two typical rooms. One was set in traditional kang, and the other one was solar Kang type. Using temperature recording instrument and 64 roads inspection instrument and other instruments, we test the indoor temperature and the kang surface temperature of two rooms. Solar kang thermal resistance, heat storage, heat dissipation and heating effect were analyzed and compared. The results of the study show this system have the smaller fluctuation, more comfort while alleviating the kang surface overheat or super-cooling problem. It satisfied the requirements of indoor thermal comfort. The warming rate is 5.17°C/h, and the cooling rate is 3.01°C/h. These are slower than traditional Huokang speed. It improved the heat storage capacity of kang body with surface heat dissipation 1237W. Average temperature of the solar kang heating room was improved 3.28°C. It gets the smaller indoor temperature fluctuation. PMV values are concentrated about -0.5, and this basically meet the requirements of the user comfort

    Rural and urban dynamics and poverty: Evidence from China and India

    "Like many developing countries, China and India followed development strategies biased in favor of the urban sector over the last several decades. These development schemes have led to overall efficiency losses due to misallocation of resources among rural and urban sectors. It also led to large income gaps between rural and urban areas. The urban bias was greater in China than in India. Indeed, official data show that both the income gap and the difference in poverty rates between rural and urban areas are much larger in China than in India. Both countries have corrected the rural-urban divide to some extent as part of reform processes. But the bias still exists. Other studies also support the idea presented here that correcting this imbalance will not only contribute to higher rural growth, but also secure future urban growth (Fan and Chan-Kang 2005). More important, correcting the urban bias will lead to larger reductions in poverty as well as more balanced growth across sectors and regions.     The subject of this bachelor thesis is the life and work of the Korean writer Kang Kyǒng-ae, with a focus on her short prose. The aim of this thesis is an analysis of two works - Salt and Darkness - with attention to the context of the author's time. Nowadays, Kang Kyǒng-ae is considered a significant author of the 1930s and her works reflect the phenomenon of Korean emigrants in Manchuria. For a long time, leftist tendencies caused her prose to be neglected, which resulted in a considerably limited number of studies concerned with her work, in comparison to the number of studies about other writers. There are virtually no Czech studies of her work. The text of the thesis initially presents the timeframe of Kang's authorship and then analyzes select works of hers.     Primary Surplus Behavior and Risks to Fiscal Sustainability in Emerging Market Countries: A "Fan-Chart" Approach

    This paper proposes a probabilistic approach to public debt sustainability analy-sis (DSA) using "fan charts." These depict the magnitude of risks-upside and downside-surrounding public debt projections as a result of uncertain economic conditions and policies. We propose a simulation algorithm for the path of public debt under realistic shock configurations, combining pure economic disturbances (to growth, interest rates, and exchange rates), the endogenous policy response to these, and the possible shocks arising from fiscal policy itself. The paper empha-sizes the role of fiscal behavior, as well as the structure of disturbances facing the economy and due to fiscal policy, in shaping the risk profile of public debt. Fan charts for debt are derived from the "marriage" between the pattern of shocks on the one hand and the endogenous response of fiscal policy on the other. Applications to Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Turkey are used to illustrate the approach and its limitations. Copyright 2006, International Monetary Fund

Previous cooling system is insufficient to satisfy these requirements(fuel economy and emission regulation). It is necessary to control flow rate of water pump by changing the rotational speed, regulate opening temperature of the thermostat and changing control logic in order to control cooling fan in detail. Along with this, Development of VTMS(Vehicle thermal Management System) which is considered as one system has been required. Especially, heavy duty vehicle's driving distance and time are quite long, and thermal load is very large. If coolant temperature is precisely controlled in the view of thermal management, fuel economy efficiency will be high. In this research, commercial vehicle in real road and fuel economy mode test which is developed by the formal researcher is driven so as to confirm and analyze specific behavior of coolant temperature. Water pump, thermostat and magnetic clutch cooling fan are replaced and improved among the parts related to the coolant temperature of heavy duty diesel engine. First, clutch water pump which is supplied with electricity is applied to regulate coolant flow rate operated to engine speed proportionally. Second, electric thermostat which is supplied with electric power, heating internal hot wire, is applied to change opening temperature of the thermostat. Third, magnetic clutch cooling fan is utilized as it is but upgrade the control logic of the cooling fan. Each parts of cooling system is controlled according to engine driving condition, coolant and ambient temperature. Test vehicle was driven along the fuel economy mode in order to analyze fuel economy improvement quantitatively through part replacement and upgrade of control logic of the cooling system. Also, rig test of cooling fan is performed using small dynamometer. Fuel economy mode test was done by utilizing chassis dynamometer, measuring fuel consumption through fuel flow meter and fuel economy improvement was analyzed

    "Egypt is a lower middle-income country with a per capita gross domestic product (GDP) in 2003 of US$3,949 measured in international dollars, or purchasing power parity (World Bank 2005a). In the decade from 1975 to 1985, Egypt enjoyed rapid economic growth... however... Egypt still lags behind many middle-income countries in key social indicators. Further reforms are necessary to reduce poverty, especially if Egypt is to achieve the United Nations' Millennium Development Goal (MDG) of halving the number of poor between 1990 and 2015. Government expenditures are an important means of promoting economic growth, reducing poverty, and improving income distribution... The overarching objective of this report is to use a multi-level analysis approach to assess both the effects of various government expenditures on growth and poverty reduction and the trade-offs between these two goals in order to determine policy options toward the achievement of the MDGs. The study involves analyses and simulations at household, sectoral, and regional levels, and at macro-levels using alternative analytical tools.
