The Theory Of The Ideal King In “Chun Chiu Fan LU”(春秋繁露)

    No full text
[[abstract]]The substance of this paper is the “Theory of the King/Kingdom in Chun Chiu Fan LU(春秋繁露)”. First, I think the theory of an “ideal king” could be the problematic idea in “Chun Chiu Fan LU”. The background of the politics and the society in pre-Han dynasty, many intellects are always concerned with the morality of king and all kinds of problems in the kingdom. So, they had a great deal of discussions about king and kingdom. Chun Chiu Fan Lu continues with the political tradition; the articles in this book are written in the same way which combines the philosophical theory and king’s practice. For this reason, we can determine the problematic idea in Chun Chiu Fan LU is “ideal king”. Then, I need to build up the theory of ideal king in Chun Chiu Fan LU. According to the articles in this writings, there are three horizons about the ideal king theory. The first is the theory of cosmology and ontology. In this horizon, we can understand the theory combines the almighty lord possessing flawless morality with the lawof air which includes Yin Yan (陰陽) and Five Elements(五行). The ideal king needs to learn the flawless morality of lord. The second is the theory about human-nature. The ideal king needs to develop his moral character through the Five Classics. The last horizon is the theory about ideal king’s moral practice. The ideal king should build up a peace and wealthy land so that the almighty lord will bless the king and kingdom. Finally, the kingdom will become a paradise where has no war and no famine.

It looks at the current Persimmon industry conditions, trends, culture, and explores the views of the farmers upon Fan-Lu village、s tourism potential through marketing the Persimmon industry as an tourist attraction. Through field surveys, in-depth interviews, and general observations, it seeks to assess the attractiveness of turning the Fan-Lu village into a Persimmon-farming based tourist attraction. This research concentrates on the qualitative analysis with the quantitative analysis as a supplement to the results. It focuses on the field study of the Persimmon industry (Persimmon growth rate, tree shape, fruit characteristics, and overall effects to the ecology), with the intention of understanding the Persimmon farming culture. Then, through in-depth interviews of the local residents, it obtains a deeper understanding of their opinion towards commercializing the Persimmon industry as a tourism attraction. Finally, through surveys, the research seeks to obtain a better understanding of the Persimmon farmer、s attitude towards marketing the industry and their overall satisfaction with the current state of tourism infrastructure in the county. Through field research/observation, interviews, and surveys, the research concluded these key points: 1.Fan-Lu village、s total Persimmon production capability is 372 tons, with “Diospyros kaki L.cv.” as the main product. It alone accounts for 335 tons of production and makes the village the largest production center in Taiwan in terms of quantity, quality, and pricing competitiveness. 2. Persimmon has intertwined itself with the lives of the Fan-Lu village residents. As a result, the unique production processes, Persimmon、s uses as a food ingredient, the folklores about Persimmon, the childhood memories, the trees、 presence throughout the village landscape, and etc., are all perfect material for making Fan-Lu village as the Persimmon tourist village. 3. Through 255 surveys of the farmers、 attitudes, 195 replies were received. 23 were invalid, resulting in a reply rate of 67.5%. Using SPSS, male respondents make up 84.88% and the percentage who has resided within Fan-Lu village for over 16 years reached 86.05%. The respondents、 attitude towards the Fan-Lu village、s tourism potential has a Cronbach、s α of 0.829. Their attitude towards marketing the Persimmon industry as a tourist attraction has a Cronbach、s α of 0.907. Finally, their satisfaction on the current tourism infrastructure of the village has a Cronbach、s α of 0.945, giving us a total value of 0.937. The KMO and Bartlett ball-shaped value both met statistical significance. It shows that the Persimmon farmers view Fan-Lu village、s tourism infrastructure and management as having some room for improvement. On the other hand, they agree on the contribution that Persimmon can bring economically and culturally

Trna-Guanine Transglycosylase from Escherichia Coli: Recognition of Noncognate-Cognate Chimeric Trna and Discovery of a Novel Recognition Site within the Tpsic Arm of Trna(Phe)

    No full text
tRNA-guanine transglycosylase (TGT) is a key enzyme involved in the posttranscriptional modification of tRNA across the three kingdoms of life . In eukaryotes and eubacteria, TGT is involved in the introduction of queuine into the anticodon of the cognate tRNAs. In archaebacteria, TGT is responsible for the introduction of archaeosine into the D-loop of the appropriate tRNAs. The tRNA recognition patterns for the eubacterial ( Escherichia coli) TGT have been studied. These studies are all consistent with a restricted recognition motif involving a U-G-U sequence in a seven- base loop at the end of a helix. While attempting to investigate the potential of negative recognition elements in noncognate tRNAs via the use of chimeric tRNAs, we have discovered a second recognition site for the E . coli TGT in the TpsiC arm of in vitro-transcribed yeast tRNA(Phe). Kinetic analyses of synthetic mutant oligoribonucleotides corresponding to the TpsiC arm of the yeast tRNA(Phe) indicate that the specific site of TGT action is G53 (within a U-G-U sequence at the transition of the TpsiC stem into the loop). Posttranscriptional base modifications in tRNA(Phe) block recognition by TGT, most likely due to a stabilization of the tRNA structure such that G53 is inaccessible to TGT. These results demonstrate hat TGT can recognize the U-G-U sequence within a structural context that is different than the canonical U-G-U in the anticodon loop of tRNA(Asp). Although it is unclear if this second recognition site is physiologically relevant, this does suggest that other RNA species could serve as substrates for TGT in vivo

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
