Optical, Near-IR, and X-Ray Observations of SN 2015J and Its Host Galaxy
No full textSN 2015J was discovered on 2015 April 27th and is classified as an SN IIn. At first, it appeared to be an orphan SN candidate, I.e., without any clear identification of its host galaxy. Here, we present an analysis of the observations carried out by the VLT 8 m class telescope with the FORS2 camera in the R band and the Magellan telescope (6.5 m) equipped with the IMACS Short-Camera (V and I filters) and the FourStar camera (Ks filter). We show that SN 2015J resides in what appears to be a very compact galaxy, establishing a relation between the SN event and its natural host. We also present and discuss archival and new X-ray data centered on SN 2015J. At the time of the supernova explosion, Swift/XRT observations were made and a weak X-ray source was detected at the location of SN 2015J. Almost one year later, the same source was unambiguously identified during serendipitous observations by Swift/XRT and XMM-Newton, clearly showing an enhancement of the 0.3-10 keV band flux by a factor ≃ 30 with respect to the initial state. Swift/XRT observations show that the source is still active in the X-rays at a level of ≃ 0.05 counts s-1. The unabsorbed X-ray luminosity derived from the XMM-Newton slew and SWIFT observations, {L}x≃ 5× {10}41 erg s-1, places SN 2015J among the brightest young supernovae in X-rays.

The online laboratories for OCRA - Outreach Cosmic Ray Activities INFN project
No full textOCRA – Outreach Cosmic Ray Activities was born in 2018 as a national outreach project of INFN with the aim of collecting, within a national framework, the numerous public engagement activities in the field of cosmic ray physics already present at a local level in the divisions and labora- tories. Since spring 2020 OCRA offers also a series of online laboratories on its website https://web.infn.it/OCRA/, designed not only to be used by students individually but also to be offered in the classroom by teachers. The cosmic ray path, present on the website, will be
presented together with the online laboratories on the measurement of muons, from the one related to the dependence on the zenith angle made during the International Cosmic Day up to measurements of the flux dependency on the altitude in the atmosphere and in the water. Also, a laboratory allowing to analyze public data of the Pierre Auger Observatory will be presented. In addition, some teaching methods included in the "Teachers' area" of the OCRA website will be described. The developed cosmic ray path was also used to organize an online course for teachers of Italian high schools with the purpose of accompanying teachers when approaching the subject for the first time. About 70 teachers participated for a total of 9 lessons

No full textThe chronicle is a model of representation of the reality in whom a journalist, as
witness, narrates and describes an event from an individual and interpretative
perspective. The present article tries to systematize the different qualities that the
professional should assemble when elaborating chronicles for radio. It is a complex
task, especially because the chronicle is a genre that offers margin to the expressive
freedom of his author. For this reason, maybe more that to present an extensive relation
of the different professional requirements, it would be more convenient to describe a
minimal baggage that should always accompany the chronicler. This baggage
understood as attitudes and professional habits that are translated then in journalistic
routines, is the one described in this article.La crónica es un modelo de representación de la realidad en la cual un periodista, en
calidad de testigo, narra y describe un suceso desde una perspectiva individual y
contextualizadora. El presente artículo pretende sistematizar las diferentes cualidades
que debería reunir el profesional a la hora de elaborar crónicas para radio. Se trata de
una tarea compleja, sobre todo si se tiene en cuenta que la crónica es un género que
ofrece a su autor cierto margen para su libertad expresiva. Por eso, tal vez más que
presentar una relación extensa de las diferentes exigencias profesionales, lo que
convenga apuntar sea un equipaje mínimo que debería acompañar siempre al cronista. Y

No full textWhen the need of integration and the always interested «social cohesion» are carried to an extreme, human rights are at risk and they can disappear. What should we do in Europe and in others latitudes when cultural diversity and the diversity of identity of its current populations become a reality to stay? It would be advisable, as the thesis of the author of this article says, «managing diversity» through respecting human rights, through overcoming the idea of assimilationist culture through ourselves and not through nationalization and politization that has always characterized the dominant culture. It is useless to deny the complex cultural reality and the diversity we live and we will live in.Cuando la necesidad de integración y la siempre interesada «cohesión social » se llevan al extremo, los derechos humanos corren peligro, pueden desaparecer. ¿Qué hacer en Europa y en otras latitudes cuando la diversidad cultural e identitaria de sus actuales poblaciones se ha convertido en una realidad que ha llegado para quedarse? La informaci\uf3n m\ue1s importante se obtiene del interrogatorio porque la evaluaci\uf3n inicial de los s\uedntomas es fundamental en el diagn\uf3stico y la planeaci\uf3n del tratamiento que se emprender\ue1 contra dichas manifestaciones. Otros aspectos de la evaluaci\uf3n inicial, como ser\uedan la exploraci\uf3n f\uedsica y las cifras de los primeros estudios de laboratorio, pueden aportar datos adicionales \ufatiles en relaci\uf3n con la gravedad de la enfermedad y la necesidad de tratamiento. Si se justifica la terap\ue9utica con base en dicha informaci\uf3n, tal vez convenga hacer m\ue1s m\ue9todos diagn\uf3sticos para fijar una base de datos previa al tratamiento, descartar otros cuadros y planear las estrategias terap\ue9uticas. Digital portfolio for learning: A new communication channel for education
No full textPropósito: La Generalitat de Catalunya tiene previsto introducir antes del año 2017 el portafolio digital, una iniciativa vinculada con los nuevos métodos de aprendizaje. Constatado el creciente interés por el portafolio digital como medio de comunicación en la educación, este artículo tiene por objetivos describir detalladamente su funcionamiento e identificar una lista de criterios, útiles a los centros educativos, para seleccionar la aplicación de gestión del portafolio digital que mejor se adapte a sus necesidades.
Diseño/metodología/enfoque: En primer lugar se fija el marco teórico de funcionamiento del portafolio digital. Luego se tipifican las aplicaciones que son usadas comúnmente para su implementación. A continuación se realiza un análisis de requisitos de una aplicación ideal con acuerdo a las fases de creación del portafolio identificados en el marco teórico. Finalmente, a partir de estos requisitos se identifica una lista de criterios útiles para seleccionar la aplicación de soporte al portafolio.
Resultados y originalidad/valor: El artículo aporta un proceso estructurado en etapas y fases para la creación del portafolio digital que va más allá de los existentes en la literatura. Además, define una lista de criterios útiles para seleccionar la aplicación de soporte al portafolio digital

Limitaciones/implicaciones de investigación: Para poner en práctica los criterios identificados se propone completar, en un nuevo estudio, el modelo de decisión multicriterio, especificando los procesos para pesar los criterios y normalizarlos. Después se podría analizar la validez del modelo estudiando la satisfacción obtenida por su uso en una muestra de centros educativos.
Implicaciones prácticas: La lista de criterios se espera facilite la selección de la aplicación informática de soporte al portafolio de aprendizaje a los centros educativos, con acuerdo a sus necesidades específicas

No full textLa presente lectura crítica tuvo el propósito de interpretar de manera literal el tema de los drones y su debate en el marco del Derecho Internacional Humanitario (DIH). Los drones, como aeronave no tripulada, sirven como instrumento para fotografiar, grabar y rastrear elementos de importancia según convenga a su operador. En este sentido, su uso se encuentra fundamentado en estatutos del DIH como lo son el Derecho de los conflictos armados o Derecho de la Haya, que tiene por objeto la regulación de las hostilidades y la imposición de límites a los medios de hacer la guerra; el Derecho Humanitario Bélico, o Derecho de Ginebra, que se encarga de las víctimas de los conflictos armados; y el Comité Internacional de la Cruz Roja (CICR), por lo cual su aplicación debería ser obligatoria para todos los Estados, coadyvando a la construcción de la paz planetaria y la existencia humana.1.
