No full textThe discovery of traces of moats anterior to the first urbanization of Lyon combine with problem still open of the origines of the city.
The digged parts belong to three different works whose morphologic characteristics give way to suppose a military use of short continuance. As unusual accumulation of amphoras and animal bones in one of the moats (more than 95% of the material) seems to be more in relation with the dietary habits of a camp than with those of an habitat. The remaining of the material allows to date this deposit back to 60 B.C. However another moat part shows more recent material.
After having considered various interpretations, the author holds the hypothesis of an unique defensive system built back to the period of the fundation of the colony (43 B.C.); because of the too limited amount of material samples founded he considers as no significant the chronologic variations between the different parts of the moats.La découverte de traces de fossés antérieurs à la première urbanisation de Lyon s'intègre dans le problème toujours débattu des origines de la ville. Les tronçons fouillés appartiennent à trois ouvrages distincts dont les caractéristiques morphologiques laissent présumer un usage militaire et de courte durée. Une accumulation inhabituelle d'amphores et d'ossements animaux dans l'un des tronçons (plus de 95% du matériel) évoque moins les usages alimentaires d'un habitat que ceux d'un campement. Le reste du matériel date ce dépôt aux alentours de 60 av. J.-C, toutefois une autre section présente du matériel plus récent.
Après avoir envisagé diverses interprétations, l'auteur retient l'hypothèse d'un seul système défensif remontant à l'époque de la fondation de la colonie (43 av. An advanced course on finite element analysis, with application to the stress distribution in teeth
No full textThe overall goal of my work is to gain insight into how tooth shape relates to its function. As a step towards this, I undertook an independent study project to further improve my skills on finite element analysis (FEA) this semester, and to combine this into my Master’s thesis project work. Continuing from the previous independent study course, the tooth model was improved to eliminate singularities and a contact surface model was included to simulate contact stress problems. I believe that these series of problems will be useful to my research. This report contains an overview of some literature that I studied, and a summary of several finite element output plots that I found to be particularly instructive
Réalisation d'un film documentaire sur les paysages d'élevage bovin en France
No full textThis work presents the creation process of a 93-minute documentary film dealing with the connections between cattle farming and landscapes in France. The author first presented the steps of the film ma king, then a detailed summary of the movie: three geographic areas have been studied as examples, their production features have been detailed, as well as their landscapes. The movie then dealt with these landscapes evolution through time and with their place and part into the actual ecological transition. Finally, the author explained the choice of audiovisual medium, its relevance, and its limits.Ce document présente le processus de création d'un film documentaire de 93 minutes traitant des liens entre élevage bovin et paysages en France. L'auteur a d'abord présenté les étapes de fabrication du film, puis un résumé détaillé de ce dernier : trois zones géographiques ont été étudiées en guise d'exemples, leurs caractéristiques de terroir et de production ont été détaillées, ainsi que leurs paysages. Le film s'est ensuite intéressé à l'évolution dans le temps de ces paysages et à leur place et leur rôle dans la transition écologique en cours

Organic synthesis of functional silanes and elaboration of fluorogenic bioconjugatable monolayers
No full textDans le cadre de l’élaboration de biocapteurs, des monocouches auto-assemblées (SAMs) fluorogènes pouvant immobiliser un biorécepteur de façon bio-orthogonale et permettre de visualiser la formation du lien covalent entre celui-ci et la surface ont été élaborées. La réaction 1,3-dipolaire de Huisgen entre un azoture et un alcyne a été choisie comme réaction bio-orthogonale. La visualisation de l’immobilisation covalente du biorécepteur se fera par une modulation de la fluorescence. Pour ce faire, deux familles de molécules, les coumarines et les naphthalimides ont été abordées. L’introduction d’une fonction azoture ou alcyne dans une position spécifique permet d’inhiber la fluorescence. Celle-ci pourra alors être libérée lors de l’immobilisation du biorécepteur. Les nouvelles monocouches fonctionnelles fluorogènes ont été caractérisées par infrarouge de réflexion-absorption par modulation de polarisation (PM-IRRAS) pour attester du greffage de l’organosilane et par fluorescence pour suivre la réaction click.As part of the development of biosensors, fluorogenic self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) that can immobilize a bioreceptor in a bio-orthogonal way revealing the covalent bond between the bioreceptor and the monolayer were elaborated. The Huisgen 1,3- dipolar reaction between an azide and an alkyne was chosen as the bio-orthogonal reaction. The covalent immobilization of the bioreceptor will be visualize by a modulation of the fluorescence. To do this, two families of molecules, coumarines and naphthalimides, have been studied. The introduction of an azide or an alkyne in a specific position quench the fluorescence of the chromophores. The fluorescence will be released after the immobilization of the bioreceptor. New fluorogenic functional monolayers have been characterized by Polarization Modulation-Infrared Reflection-Adsorption Spectroscopy (PM-IRRAS) to confirm the grafting of the organosilanes and by fluorescence to monitor the click reaction
