Böyle alanlar için hazırlanan kentsel tasarım projelerinin bu amaçlara katkısı yadsınamaz bir gerçektir (Özalp, 2008). Şehirleşmenin başladığı andan itibaren kamusal alan meydanlar o toplumlar için buluşma noktası, sosyalleşme alanı ve yönetim birimlerinin hizmet verdiği bir alan olmuştur. Meydanları bu kadar önemli kılan nedenler dikkate alındığında bunların yönetimine ilişkin başarı kriterlerinin tanımlanması ve ölçümlenmesi de önem arz etmektedir. Şüphesiz yerel yönetimler açısından meydanları kullananların memnuniyeti ön plandadır. Bu açıdan bakınca bahse konu başarı ölçütleri ulaşım, güvenlik, çevre gibi kent meydanını tanımlayan temel faktörlere göre tanımlanabilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı iki başlıkta özetlenebilir: (i) Bir kent meydanının yönetimini halkın gözünde başarılı kılan ölçütleri tespit etmek ve buna dayalı bir Meydan Yönetim Sistemi (MYS) başarı skoru modeli önermek; (ii) çok zengin bir tarihe sahip olan İstanbul'un en önemli simgelerinden biri olan Üsküdar Meydanı'nın kentsel mekân yönetim performansının MYS kriterlerine göre değerlendirmek. Bu kapsamda 2016 ile 2020 yılları arasında Üsküdar Meydanı ile ilgili yapılan yenileme ve altyapı projeleri İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesinin ilgili Müdürlüğüne sorulmuş, Literatür taraması ve ön görüşmeler ile başarı kriterleri tespit edilmiştir. Bu başarı kriterlerin önemi Bulanık Tip-2 Analitik Hiyerarşi Prosesi (AHP) yöntemi ile uzmanlar tarafından değerlendirilmiştir, elde edilen önem değerleri ışığında bir anket tasarlanmıştır. Yapılan saha araştırmasında 'Meydan Kullanımı' ve 'Meydandan Beklenti ve Memnuniyet' anketleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Saha çalışmasında bizzat meydanda incelemeler yapılmış, vatandaşın meydan ile ilgili düşünce, memnuniyet ve beklentileri tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonuçları dikkate alındığında yeniden tasarlanan Üsküdar Meydanı'ndan memnuniyet kabul edilebilir düzeyde bulunmuştur. Özellikle meydanın son yıllarda gelişen ulaşım altyapısı "Ulaşım" ana kriterinin yüksek puan almasını sağlamıştır. Bunun karşın meydan, çevre ve estetik bakımdan yetersiz bulunmuştur.It is important to protect and sustain the areas (squares, parks, monumental areas, etc.) that form the image of cities with their presence in historical cities. The contribution of urban design projects prepared for such areas to these goals is an undeniable fact (Özalp, 2008). From the moment urbanization started, public squares have become a meeting point, a socialization area, and a service interface served by management units for the community. Considering the reason that make the squares so important, it is vital to define and measure the success criteria for their management. Undoubtedly, the satisfaction of those who use the squares is a priority from the perspective of local governments. From this point of view, the success criteria can be defined according to the main factors defining the main functions of city public squares such as transportation, security, environment, etc. The purpose of this study can be summarized under two points: (i) Firstly, to determine the criteria that make the management of a city square successful in the eyes of the public, and to propose a City Square Management System model. (ii) Secondly, to evaluate the urban space management performance of Üsküdar Square, with its very rich history one of the most important symbols of Istanbul, according to the proposed model. In this context, the renovation and infrastructure projects related to Üsküdar Square between 2016 and 2020 were evaluated with the relevant Directorate of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, and the success criteria were determined through literature review and preliminary interviews. Then, experts assessed the importance of these success criteria with Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Next, questionnaire was designed in the light of the significance values obtained in the previous stage. Considering the significance scores, 'Square Usage' and 'Expectation from the Square' surveys were conducted. In the field study, opinions, satisfaction and expectations of the citizens regarding the use of the square were determined. Considering the results of the study, satisfaction from the redesigned Üsküdar Square was found to be acceptable. Especially the transportation infrastructure of the square, which has developed in recent years, has ensured the main criterion of the "Transportation" a high score. However, the square was found insufficient in terms of environment and aesthetics
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
