Social skills can be acquired through the learning process of family, peers, college and student surroundings. Social skills are indispensable in any student's social life because it is a capital for individual differences, a basis for living with others, working together, controlling yourself, reasoning, working on conflict resolution, and students are able to deal with life's problems and have confidence. (Bahfen, M. 2020). The purpose of this study is to understand how floating market tourism is in an effort to improve student social skills. The writing USES a type of qualitative research using descriptive methods, using data collection techniques of observation and documentation in which writers use literature studies based on articles, books, and journals. It is hoped to be useful for all in the world, which can give a cognitive picture of the importance of having social skills primarily in order to interact with peers to communicate, and in cooperation with floating market tourism. Sixty-one page manuscript memoir, “A personal narrative written for my family,” prepared by George Musalas Colvocoresses in 1857-1861, while aboard the USS Levant, with a postscript written by Ellena Seaman Colvocoresses in 1897; includes accounts of: the Colvocoresses family’s experience during the Greek War of Independence; George Musalas Colvocoresses’ journey to the United States as a child and the circumstances surrounding his initial meeting with Alden Partridge; military service during the Battle of the Barrier Forts in the Second Opium War; and other highlights of George Musalas Colvocoresses’ naval career. Not digitized were blank pages and cover of this bound manuscript, including an engraving of "Table Bay, Cape of Good Hope" pasted on endpapers. Clippings removed from the manuscript about Adeline M. Colvocoresses and George Musalas Colvocoresses (the latter written by George Partridge Colvocoresses) were also not digitized. George Musalas Colvocoresses may have prepared multiple versions of this manuscript for different family members.Transcription by Joseph Byrne. Transcriptions may be subject to error

SOFT SKILLS AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING: A STUDY ON ITALIAN RURAL AND URBAN NEETS

    No full text
Soft skills retain a certain importance in fully understanding the NEET phenomenon: However, only few researchers have focused on them specifically. The aim of this work is two-fold: A) to detect the differences in terms of soft skills and psychological well-being between urban and rural NEETs; and b) to evaluate which of the soft skills analysed may be predictors of psychological well-being. A sample of young 6998 18−34 years old representative of the Italian population was used. Although gender and educational attainment play a key role in determining NEET status, the degree of urbanisation must be considered because it appears to influence the well-being and perceived soft skills of a group of NEETs. The present study shows that females with low educational attainment residing in rural areas have lower levels of well-being than females with low educational attainment residing in urban areas. A similar influence exists in relation to one particular soft skill: Positive vision. Furthermore, soft skills predict psychological well-being wherein degree of urbanisation and gender seems to play a determining role. Policies should, therefore, consider these issues in their design and implementation phases

Anxiety Of Alexandra Maria Ellena Delgado In Stuart Gillard’s The Cutting Edge: A Psychoanalytic Approach

The major problem of this study is how anxiety reflected in the major character’s personality. The aim of this study is to analyze Stuart Gillard’s The Cutting Edge the structural elements and the development of personality of the major character based on Psychoanalytic Approach. This study focuses on major character, namely Alexandra Maria Ellena Delgado. The benefit of this research is to give addition all information to be used by other literature researchers who are interested in analyzing this movie. This study uses two data source, namely primary and secondary data source. The primary data source is the play script itself, while the secondary data are taken from some information needed. The method of data collection is qualitative method. Based on the analysis, the study of this research comes from the major character problem. It purposes to analyze the movie using individual psychologycal perspective. The steps to conduct this research are (1) determining the type of the study, (2) determining the object of the study, (3) determining the data and data sources, (4) determining the technique of data collection, and (5) determining technique of data analysis. The result of the study found that there is a relationship between The Cuttingedge movie and psychoanalytic approach, first on the structural element of the movie; where the message to The Cuttingedge movie shows that Alexandra Maria Ellena Delgado as the major character that she want to be a beautiful ice skater. The point of view is, the director wants to show the struggle of life of Delgado’s. The theme of the movie is the basic idea of story in which the author portrays through conflicts of characters with other character or with life events. The anxiety of Alexandra related with psychoanalytic approach is that the doubt, fear, and worried of Alexandra makes her brave to take the second chance, and make her dream comes true namely to be a beautiful ice skater

The fungal sexual revolution continues: indications of sexuality in the citric acid producing fungus Aspergillus niger

    No full text
Sexual reproduction is an important proliferation mechanism which provides advantages to a species by promoting genetic variation. Interestingly, for a large group of fungal species, including the industrially relevant Aspergillus niger, this mode of reproduction has not been described yet. In recent years, strong indications of the sexual potential of A. niger have accumulated 1. These include the ability of certain strains to produce pre-mature sexual structures (sclerotia) and the presence of a mating type MAT1-1 locus in the commonly used A. niger strains, such as ATCC 1015 and CBS 513.88. Here we show additional evidence of the sexual potential of A. niger. Formation of sclerotia could be induced in the progenitor of the industrial citric acid producing strains of A. niger, ATCC 1015, and in pyrG mutants derived from it 2. The capability of ATCC 1015 to form sclerotia, known to act as sexual structures in related organisms, represents a step forward towards the discovery of a sexual cycle in this important industrial species. To find the second mating type locus, we performed genome sequencing of the A. niger neotype strain CBS 554.65 and identified the missing MAT1-2 locus 3. A nucleotide alignment showed a different orientation of the MAT1-1 locus of ATCC 1015 compared to the MAT1-2 locus of CBS 554.65. While the genomic context of the MAT1-2 locus in CBS 554.65 is similar to the one of other MAT1-2 A. niger strains and other Aspergillus species, the region comprising the MAT1-1 locus is inverted in all sequenced strains of A. niger. These observations suggest the occurrence of genetic flipping or switching events at the MAT1-1 locus of A. niger, which might have a direct impact on its sexuality. These results provide new insights in the mating system of A. niger and pave the way for the discovery of a sexual cycle in a species long thought to be asexual. 1.
