Fußball, Euroball und andere Polyeder
Im Rahmen des Euroball-Projektes (41r-Hochpräzisions-y-Spektrometer) wurden inder ZAT 1 Untersuchungen durchgeführt, eine Kugeloberfläche möglichst gleichmäßig mitFlächen zu belegen . Einen solchen Körper nennt man Polyeder (Vielflächner).Für den Euroball muß das Polyeder folgende Forderungen erfüllen:• an jeder Ecke des Polyeders treffen drei Polygone (Vielecke) zusammen• die Anzahl verschiedenartiger Polygone soll möglichst klein sein• die Polygone sind kongruent (deckungsgleich)• die Polygonfläche soll möglichst wenig von der Fläche des umschreibendenKreises abweichenDiese Forderungen werden am besten von einem Polyedertyp erfüllt:das Polyeder mit I2 Pentagons und x-Hexagon
Beta-decay near "1"0"0Sn and "1"4"6Gd: experiments performed by using a total absorption spectrometer or an array of six Euroball CLUSTER detectors
The GT beta decay of "1"5"0Ho has been studied with a Total Absorption Spectrometer (TAS), with an array of 6 Euroball CLUSTER Ge detectors (the CLUSTER CUBE), and with an alpha detector. The three techniques complement each other. The results provide the first observation of an extremely sharp resonance in GT beta decay. Spectroscopy of Ne and Na isotopes: Preliminary results from a EUROBALL + Binary Reaction Spectrometer experiment
The gamma-decay of fragments from deep-inelastic and multi-nucleon transfer processes which occur when a beam of 26Mg at 160MeV is incident on a thin 150Nd target was studied using the EUROBALL IV array of escape suppressed Ge detectors at Strasbourg. The good resolving power of EUROBALL IV was further increased by combining it with the Binary Reaction Spectrometer (BRS), used for the detection of projectile-like fragments. The BRS allows full kinematic reconstruction of the binary reaction allowing crucial Doppler corrections of gamma-ray spectra to be performed. Some preliminary results are presented
Euroball results on nuclei at high spin and far from stability
Large gamma detector arrays are an essential tool for modern spectroscopy of nuclei both in their high spin regime and far from the stability line. The Euroball spectrometer has been operating for almost six years at the heavy-ion accelerators of Legnaro and Strasbourg covering a broad physics program which led to advances in nuclear structure studies at high angular momentum and of very exotic nuclei. In this talk I will give an overview of the most recent results of Euroball including new types of collective motion at high spin and studies of exotic neutron-deficient nuclei along the N=Z line. I will also briefly mention the new scientific opportunities offered by the Euroball detectors coupled to the FRS, PRISMA and RITU spectrometers at GSI, Legnaro and Jyva ̈skyla ̈, respectively
Towards Far from Stability with Euroball
The Euroball γ-detector array has been built with the main purpose of studying high angular momentum phenomena in nuclei. When coupled with powerful ancillary detectors it has proved to be an excellent instrument to explore the properties of very exotic nuclei far from β-stability. A large fraction of the experiments has been therefore devoted to study both proton-rich and neutron-rich nuclei populated with very low cross sections by using the stable beams provided by the Legnaro and Strasbourg accelerators. In this talk the main emphasis will be on nuclei lying close to the N = Z line where fundamental properties of the nuclear force can be tested with high precision
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
