Abstract Ultisol has many problems for planting corn, especially physical and chemical properties, as well as very low soil organic matter. Corn productivity in Ultisol can be improved by use of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) indigenous. This fungus forms a symbiotic mutualism with corn. hyphae contain glomalin and helps the absorption of nutrients and water while improving soil physical properties in a sustainable manner. AMF requires nitrogen (N) of the organic material to produce glomalin. How do the characteristics of indigenous AMF in Ultisol corn root zone, and what needs N from organic materials by the AMF already done the research. This research aims to study the characteristics of Ultisol indigenous AMF and AMF inoculant applications plus organic to improve physics Ultisol in increasing corn production. The study was conducted in three phases, starting from the exploration of indigenous AMF from corn root zone on Ultisol. Then tested the ability of AMF against root infections and glomalin production. Second, the species selected AMF given organic material to increase production glomalin and its effects on corn and physics Ultisol. The results showed 9 species of indigenous AMF from Ultisol namely Acaulospora scrobiculata, Glomus etunicatum, Glomus luteum, Glomus mosseae, Glomus verruculosum, Glomus versiforme, Scutellospora gregaria, Scutellospora heterogama and Gigaspora sp. Test results on the ability of infection and glomalin production were determined by 3 selected AMF species namely G. luteum. G. verruculosum and G. versiforme. The addition of 30 mg N organic matter on G. luteum and G. versiforme has produced the highest glomalin of 11.06 and 13.64 mg.g-1 respectively so as to have a better effect on soil physics and plant growth response on corn. Application of 20 mg AMF inoculant plus organic materials equivalent to 30 mg of N of G. versiforme obtained the highest dry seed production by 6.52 tonnes / ha. Increased corn production in Ultisol with organic plus AMF inoculant utilization reached 84% compared with no addition of AMF inoculant. Key words : glomalin, indigenous, symbiotic, Ultisol

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

PENGARUH INOKULASI FUNGI MIKORIZA ARBUSKULA (FMA) PLUS ORGANIK TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKSI JAGUNG PADA ULTISOL

Mycorrhizal symbiosis increases nutrient uptake for plants, resistance to disease, stabilizes soil aggregates and promotes the growth of soil organisms. Fungal hyphae containing glomalin is essential for soil biological processes because of their interactions with plants, soils, and microbes. Activity of AMF in the area of rhizosphere and mycorizosphere will improve the physical, chemical and biological conditions of the soil, thereby providing a healthy soil environment for plants. How the influence of AMF inoculants plus organic ingredients on growth and production of maize on Ultisol needs to be tested in the field.  The purpose of this experiment is the application of AMF plus organic inoculants to corn planting, to determine the effect on growth and increase of corn production. Experiments using a randomized block design with four groups. The AMF inoculation treatment was the administration of organic plus inoculant from G. luteum (F1), G. verruculosum (F2), G. versiforme (F3), Multi species of AMF (F4) and without AMF inoculation (F0). The results showed that AMF inoculation had significant effect on total glomalin. G. versiforme has the highest total glomalin, which is 10.59 mg.g-1. The effect of AMF species had no significant effect on aggregate stability, but was significantly different from the treatment without AMF inoculation. The effect of AMF on N, P and K uptake is significantly different. The highest dry corn kiln production from G. versiforme, which is 8.07 kg / plot or 4.04 ton / ha, has the same effect as G. luteum (7.98 kg / plot or 3.99 ton / ha) and Multi AMF (7.67 kg / plot or 3.84 tons / ha). Increased production of dried corn plants inoculated with AMF plus organics can reach 40-83% higher than the plants without giving the AMF.Key words : mycorizosphere, productivity, rhizosphere, Ultiso

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    koamabayili/VECTRON-author-checklist: VECTRON author checklist

We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
