The Shaping of a Behaviorist”. Esse resultado aponta para a importância de um estudo subsequente, que leve em conta mais aspectos de cada sistema para fortalecer os presentes achadosSome theoretical papers in the field of the philosophy of behavior analysis make the case that superficial afinities were being found between radical behaviorism and other philosophies due to lack of an integrated understanding of the sistems being compared. At the same time, some philosophers in behavior analysis were afirming the existence of relevant similarities between the philosophies of Peirce and Skinner that hadn’t been duly explored. The objective of this work was to produce a comprehension of Peirce’s epistemology integrated in its philosophical system, to facilitate a comparison between its concepts and those of radical behaviorismo. The material used to study Skinner’s philosophy were some papers between the period of 1980 to 1990 that were considered to be mainly about his theoretical and philosophical inclinations. We believe this restriction does not limit greatly the value of this work, given that our interest was not to analise the whole of Skinner’s thought. The material used to study Peirce’s philosophy was the book “Chance Love and Logic”, mainly because it was the only book by Peirce owned by Skinner, according to Skinner’s autobiography “The Shaping of a Behaviorist”. That work covers about thirty years of Peirce’s production, which allows us to consider it representative of his system. We defined five categories of analysis that guided the reading of the material: knowledge, conceptions of truth, psychology and behavior, logic and science. The results obtained pointed to great diferences between the authors. Firstly, They present diferent kinds of selectionism, Skinner presented selection by consequences, and Peirce presents a selectionism that is associacionistic. In Peirce’s selectionism there is no influence of consequences in the definition of classes of events produced by selection, and so we have a fundamental divergence between Peirce and Skinner. Another difference shows itself concerning the conceptions of truth and reality. To Peirce, science has the incumbence of reaching true opinion, an opinion that corresponds with reality and is recognized for being an effective rule of action. To Skinner science must lead to effective action, but is not concerned with truth or reality. The ocurrence of such diferences across the five categories seems to be related to the interest each author has in the aplication of scientific knowledge to the resolution of social issues, which was more presente in Skinner. These findings revealed a difference from what other authors in literature were saying. This however only points to the importance of further studies that takes into account more aspects of each system to corroborate the findings here presente

Combining EDXRF and DRIFT-MIRS to distinguish sedimentary sources in an agricultural catchment of Argentina : Identification of suitable fingerprint elements

    No full text
Sediment transport and the associated deposition process are key environmental problems in the semi-arid center of Argentina where the agricultural frontier and new land uses grow at the expense of native vegetation. Using sediment source fingerprinting techniques could be a way of identifying hot spots critiques of land degradation. In this research we explore the use of natural elements in soil to identify sedimentary sources in a small basin in the province of San Luis, Argentina. Soil samples were collected in different points of the basin, representing different land use (source samples) and sediments samples were taken along the stream (mixed samples). Concentrations of possible fingerprint elements were measured using EDXRF technique. Additionally, multivariate PLS analysis was applied to the infrared spectral data of the samples. With the aim of validate the procedure, two artificial mixtures were made up with known proportions of source samples. Fingerprints elements were identified obtaining with them a very good reconstruction of the source proportions in the artificial mixtures. DRIFT-MIRS PLS analysis shows a good correlation between MIRS spectra and the identified fingerprint elements.Fil: Torres Astorga, Romina Vanesa. Cambalache Jazz Club. Nanoparticles as antifungal additives for indoor water borne paints

    No full text
There are nanotechnology-based materials that can be used as antimicrobial additives in different appli-cations such as water-borne paints. Antimicrobial paints are important tool in order to avoid indoorbiological colonization and therefore prevent paint bio-deterioration and health problems in people andpets. These paints would have application in kitchens, bathrooms and hospitals. The present study eval-uated the incorporation of silver (of two different sizes), copper and zinc oxide nanoparticles in indoorwaterborne paints and the bio-resistance imparted by them. The antifungal activity of nanoparticles is aless studied topic in relation to the antibacterial activity but is no less important from the environmentalpoint of view. Molds that grow in indoor environments contribute significantly with bioaerosol formationand therefore on air contamination and human health deterioration. In this sense, this research evaluatedthe nanoparticles? antifungal activity using previously isolated fungi, Chaetomium globosum and Alternariaalternata, on solid medium. Then, the bio-resistance of acrylic paints, with nanoparticles incorporated, was evaluated in Petri dishes and observations were made using scanning electron microscopy. The betterresults were obtained with the paint that contained silver with the smaller size (10 nm).Fil: Bellotti, Natalia. Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas. Exploring innovative techniques for identifying geochemical elements as fingerprints of sediment sources in an agricultural catchment of Argentina affected by soil erosion

    No full text
Identification of hot spots of land degradation is strongly related with the selection of soil tracers for sediment pathways. This research proposes the complementary and integrated application of two analytical techniques to select the most suitable fingerprint tracers for identifying the main sources of sediments in an agricultural catchment located in Central Argentina with erosive loess soils. Diffuse reflectance Fourier transformed in the mid-infrared range (DRIFT-MIR) spectroscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) were used for a suitable fingerprint selection. For using DRIFT-MIR spectroscopy as fingerprinting technique, calibration through quantitative parameters is needed to link and correlate DRIFT-MIR spectra with soil tracers. EDXRF was used in this context for determining the concentrations of geochemical elements in soil samples. The selected tracers were confirmed using two artificial mixtures composed of known proportions of soil collected in different sites with distinctive soil uses. These fingerprint elements were used as parameters to build a predictive model with the whole set of DRIFT-MIR spectra. Fingerprint elements such as phosphorus, iron, calcium, barium, and titanium were identified for obtaining a suitable reconstruction of the source proportions in the artificial mixtures. Mid-infrared spectra produced successful prediction models (R2 = 0.91) for Fe content and moderate useful prediction (R2 = 0.72) for Ti content. For Ca, P, and Ba, the R2 were 0.44, 0.58, and 0.59 respectively.Fil: Torres Astorga, Romina Vanesa. Palabras claves: Procesos, Sistema Integrado de Gestión (SIG), Diagnóstico Institucional, Direccionamiento Estratégico, Modelo Estándar de Control Interno (MECI), Administración de Procesos de Negocios (BPM).ABSTRACT The ministry of labor has the computer support working group, which carries out activities aimed at guaranteeing the availability and performance of the technological infrastructure and technological services at the central level, territorial offices, special offices and other units at the national level. This working group adheres to the guidelines of the office of information technology and communications but is part of the administrative and financial sub directorate and has not been recognized as a process of support to the mission areas of the entity does not appear in the process map, this is why work will focus on the development of a proposal for the incorporation of the computer support process in organizational management from diagnosing the current conditions of the new process, make its characterization and raise the information that allows document their procedures.
