    Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menentukan kapasitas muat optimal kapal ikan dengan memasukan unsur resiko yakni dengan menganalisa sensitivitas (kepekaan) profitabilitasnya terhadap perubahan jumlah hasil tangkapan\ud Obyek penelitian dilakukan pada kapal ikan skala menengan yakni 10 GT, 20 GT dan 30 GT Data diperoleh dengan mengambil sampel pada masing-masing kapasitas. Dari sampel yang ada diperoleh spesifikasi teknis dan karakteristik pengoperasiannya.Dengan kreteria ekonomi yakni NPV dan IRR, kapasitas muat optimal dapat ditentukan dengan memasukkan unsur resiko yakni kondisi muatan 60%, 80% dan 100% dari muatan rata-rata. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa kapasitas muat optimal kapal ikan di perairan Makassar adalah kapal ikan kapasitas 20 GT dengan resiko perubahan profitabilitas terkecil baik NPV maupun IRR-nya

    Indonesian shipbuilding Industry plays significant roles in supporting the economics of the country in the utilization of sea resources, the distribution of natural resources as well as interconnecting people between islands. Hence, it is significant for this industry to survive and keep growing and being competitive not only to fulfill the domestic need on ships but also for export to overseas. Support from the Indonesian government with the policy to build all ships which are operated domestically in the Indonesian shipyards is needed. In the global level, the individual shipyard is relatively difficult to compete with the overseas shipyard. This is because the current global competition is not between individual shipyards but between collaboration shipyards. One of the reasons is there is no collaboration model between shipyards which appropriate with the condition of Indonesian shipyards herself can be found in the literature. This paper discusses an integration model for 4 Indonesian BUMN shipyards which is based on the domestic shipyards characteristics and challenges faced in the implementation stages

    Conceptual Model for Transfer of Technology in a Shipyard

    Transfer of technology is an important program to be done by a shipyard if the respective shipyard is to maintain and increase its competitiveness. But sometimes, some aspects that need to be considered in a transfer of technology program are ignored. Before any transfer of technology program is to be conducted in any shipyard, identification of the required technology to be transferred and why the changes in shipyard technology are needed must be done. These identifications will lead to the identification of the current shipyard competitiveness and the identification of the shipyard hardware and software technology components performances. Decision will be made which is based on these identifications. If the software technology components show good performances, then maximum advantages will be obtained from the current facilities and any investment in hardware technology components will tend to reduce the cost per unit of output. On the contrary, if the software technology components show bad performances, then any investment in hardware technology components will tend to increase the cost per unit of\ud output. In this paper, a conceptual model of transfer of technology in a shipyard is developed. The proposed model is expected to be a reference model for a shipyard practitioners when a transfer of technology program is about to be conducted and hence prevent losses of investment mistake and obtain maximum advantages from the transfer of technology process

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    Models and Optimisation Techniques on Long Distribution Network: A Review

    AbstractThe problems that are common in a distribution network can become more serious in long distribution networks due to the increased complexity of the system. In order to overcome such problems, network models should take into consideration the characteristics that are more representative of long distribution networks. This paper reviews existing studies related to the use of long distribution network models that include two-stage and three-stage distribution networks. In addition to highlighting some of the key elements associated with the development of models, this paper examines the techniques that can be used to optimise them. This paper stresses the need to consider important information in the process of developing a long distribution network model that takes into consideration the problems that are inherent in long distribution networks. The paper concludes by providing recommendations for future research in this field
