The study aimed to examine the effect of academic stress on the healthy and unhealthy behaviour of nursing students. To gain more understanding of the concepts, literatures were reviewed. The study used descriptive assessment and correlational research design. The population of the study was 228 nursing students of the Divine Word College of Laoag. The questionnaires were used to gather the data and weighted mean and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were utilized to analyze the data. The study found that the academic stress of students was high and healthy behavior was also high. While unhealthy behaviour was low. In terms of the correlation between academic stress and healthy behaviour, the results signify that taken together the three dimensions (external pressure and expectations, course requirement overload and examination, and self-efficacy) are not associated with healthy behaviour. However, taken separately, academic stress related to self-efficacy significantly influenced healthy behaviour. Higher self-efficacy predicts higher healthy behaviour. Further, concerning the correlation between academic stress and unhealthy behaviour, the finding reveals that both are significantly correlated. It means higher academic stress leads to unhealthy behaviour. &nbsp

    No full text
The study aimed to investigate the effect of bureaucratic and humanistic work environments on the work ethics of the employees. To deepen the concepts, the literature was reviewed. The study used the assessment and correlational research design. The population of the study was the employees of the Divine Word College of Laoag. Validated questionnaires were used to gather the data dan the weighted mean and ANOVA were used to analyze the data. The findings indicate that the bureaucratic work environment of the institution is higher than the humanistic work environment. The work ethics of the employees was also high. However, looking into their correlation, showed that there is no correlation between the work environment and the work ethics of the employees. The variances of work ethics are not attributed to the work environment but they may be caused by other individual or organizational factors. Thus, the current study recommends another study particularly the effect of individual work values on the work ethics of the employees

This study examined the organizational climate of four Divine Word Colleges in the SVD Northern Province, Philippines, as perceived by middle-level administrators, faculty, and employees, and its effect on employee morale and work behavior. A literature review provided a theoretical foundation for the investigation. Using a descriptive–correlational research design, data were analyzed through frequency counts, percentages, weighted means, ANOVA, and regression–correlation analysis. Results showed no significant differences in the perceptions of the three respondent groups regarding organizational climate. However, a highly significant relationship was found between organizational climate and employee morale, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis. The findings underscore the crucial role of a positive organizational climate in promoting employee morale and effective work behavior. Further research incorporating additional variables is recommended for a more comprehensive assessment. Keywords: organizational climate, morale, work behavior, higher education, Philippine

    No full text
The study aimed to measure the effect of employees' trust in management on the work engagement of employees. Deepening the concepts of the study, the literature was reviewed and appropriate research methodology was applied. The study used assessment and correlational research design. The population of the study was employees of the institution (DWCL) and the data was gathered through research questionnaires. The finding of the study demonstrates that employees have a high trust in management competency, integrity and the working relationship and employees also have a high work engagement. The socio-demographic profile of the respondents was statistically treated with the use of frequency count and percentage.  Weighted mean was used to determine the level of assessment on the performance of the graduate school and the impact of the training in the MBA program.  t-test was used for the correlation of the relationship between the profile of respondents and assessment in the performance of the MBA program; the relationship between the profile of respondents and the impact of training in the MBA program; and the relationship between the assessment in the performance in the MBA program and the impact of training in the MBA program. The overall assessment of the level of performance of the graduate school is “excellent”. The overall assessment of the impact of training in the MBA graduate program is to a “very great extent”.
