    Isospin-symmetry breaking corrections for the description of triplet energy differences

    No full text
    The charge-independence breaking of the nuclear interaction is analyzed by means of energy differences among analog states in T=1 isobaric multiplets. Data on triplet energy differences in the sd, pf, and pf5/2g shells, i.e., 18<A<66, are reproduced with very good accuracy by large-scale shell-model calculations taking into account, aside from the Coulomb interaction, a single isotensor schematic interaction of monopole-pairing type. It is shown that the effect on the triplet energy differences of this isospin-breaking interaction is of the same magnitude as the Coulomb one. Moreover, its strength is the same for every single-particle orbital of the considered model space

    THE 4550 {\AA} BAND SYSTEM OF GLYOXAL

    Author Institution: Division of Pure Physics, National Research Council“Approximately 45 bands of glyoxal in the region 4000-4660 {\AA} have been photographed in absorption using a 30 ft. Ebert spectrograph with a resolving power of 500,000\sim 500,000 and a dispersion of 1.3 {\AA}/cm. The (0-0) baud near 4550 {\AA}, which WAS studied at a temperature of 50-50^{\circ} C, shows fairly well-resolved J- and K- structure characteristic of a perpendicular hand of a near symmetric top molecule. The rotational and vibrational analysis of the speetrum will be discussed.

Phys. 63, 2861 (1975).Author Institution:Niobium nitride emission systems have been found at 5l37{\AA}, 5582{\AA}, 5740{\AA}, 5840{\AA}, 5860{\AA}, in addition to the already known1,2known^{1,2} systems with subbands at 5930{\AA}, 6043{\AA}, and 6192{\AA}. Most of These systems show marked nuclear hyperfine structure of the rotational lines add this has been of assistance in the analysis of all of the systems. Systems of triplet-triplet, singlet-singlet and singlet-triplet are all present and the hyperfine structure also allows assignment of the ground and excited state electron configuration to be made with some confidence

Phys. 63, 4977 (1975).Author Institution: Department of Chemistry, Columbia University; Department of Chemistry, Columbia University, New yorkThe NO2NO_{2} 6125 \AA \ region wag chosed for investigation, because of the strength of the transitions and because of the seeming simplicity of this region. From an analysis of the rotationally resolved fluorescence of NO2NO_{2} excited by a narrow band (0.03 \AA) \ tunable dye laser,1laser,^{1} quantum numbers have been assigned to 150 transitions in the 6125 \AA \ region. Four vibronic bands are observed in a 20 \AA \ interval, two of which have been previously reported.2reported.^{2} A rotational analysis of the 6125 \AA \ and 6126 \AA \ bands is presented, while the small number of transitions assigned to the 6117 \AA \ and 6119 \AA \ bands precludes analysis

    Beta-delayed (multi-)particle decay studies

    21 pags.; 10 figs.Here we report on beta-delayed multi-particle-breakup studies made at IGISOL to determine the nuclear structure and eventual alpha clustering in light nuclei. The experimental studies were performed in full kinematics and we will dedicate part of this article to technical details of the experiments. In particular we will discuss the breakup of excited states in 12C fed by beta decay from 12B and 12N, the study of the beta decay of 13O, as well as studies determining the neutrino spectrum of 8B. © Springer Science+Business Media B.V. 2012This work was partly financed by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology under project FPA2007-62170, FPA2009-07387 and partly by the European Union under contract EURONS JR4/DLEP (contract no. 506065).This work was partly financed by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology under project FPA2007-62170, FPA2009-07387 and partly by the European Union under contract EURONS JR4/DLEP (contract no. 506065).Peer Reviewe

    Author Institution: Astronomy Department, Indiana UniversityEmergent fluxes predicted by the model atmospheres of Alexander, Collins, Fay and Johnson (1971, 26th Molecular Spectroscopy Symposium) are compared with Coude spectral tracings of 19 Psc and WZ Cas at 0.2{\AA} resolution from 6700{\AA}--- 6712{\AA}. The line opacity is that of the Δv=4\Delta v = 4 and 5 sequences of the 12C14N^{12}C^{14}N and 13C14N^{13}C^{14}N radicals, as well as the Li 6707.8 resonance line. Results are presented for Teff=3800 and 3400KT_{eff}= 3800 \ and\ 3400^{\circ} K and 12C/13C^{12}C/^{13}C ratios of 2, 5 and 20 as well as Li/H ratios of 101210^{-12} to 10810^{-8}

""Author Institution: Sandia LaboratoriesThe 3460 - 3015 {\AA} band system of I2I_{2} has been tentatively assigned1assigned^{1} to the 3Π^{3}\Pi2g_{2g} \rightarrow 3Π2u^{3}\Pi_{2u} transition of I2I_{2}. In the course of investigating this system as a candidate for an e-beam initiated laser the collision deactivation rates of the 3427 {\AA} vibrational band by argon and krypton were measured. In addition, the collisional deactivation rate of the 3427 {\AA} vibrational band by ground state I2I_{2} was measured and an estimate of the Lifetime of the upper state of the 3427 {\AA} transition was obtained
